One of the greatest stories in Drag Racing history in the making. As Larry heads deeper into the fives will anyone be able to compete? We will be following the action as Tom Bailey and Andy Frost all battle they take it to the absolute limits of street car racing.

A 60 year old American here wishing you all the best. I have been a drag racing fan since the 60's . During the summer of 1967 I broke my arm, was unable to play my beloved baseball and during that time a friend gave me my first drag race magazine. I was hooked from that moment on and there was no more stick and ball sports for me. What you people do reminds me so much of the quest for land speed records of old when names such as Campbell were at the top of their game. So much was lost when the piston engines were no longer used. What you do may not be as well known to the average joe but your story and persistence is fascinating.

To clear up a few things and to compare apples to apples. "Baily is nothing he runs a plastic body". Bailey has built a new car that will run with anyone once it is sorted out, it is as high tech as they get. Lutz has just brought out his carbon fiber Pro Mod car so take that as you will. "I think the faster one has some carbon fiber". Actually I believe it is Frost's car that is all fiberglass, Larry's truck actually still has a factory VIN # and a steel cab, which qualifies him as a "real street car". "All I will say is if we could get Andy to the U.S. For drag week". Got to agree with that one because where as Frost claims to have a street car no one has ever seen it do the 1000 mile trek required for Drag Week which is now considered the standard. So basically even if Frost does somehow run in the 5's it will still be with an *. "To make it fair they should be made to race on the same strip, Larry's track looks very downhill". The track where Larry ran the 5.95 is perfectly flat, the look of downhill is an optical illusion as the shut down area is uphill to help the cars slow down." I think what people forget is Larson's car is built with money from major sponsors". Larry builds his own cars and has no real sponsors (see any names on the side?) I am sure he gets some help from vendors but so does Frost (see the list of thank yous at the end).
Basically Larry Larson has built the true meaning of an unlimited street car. He started with a real vehicle (with a factory VIN #), it is street legal and has made the 1000 mile trek in Drag Week and has run in the 5's. The next closest is Jeff Lutz in his Pro Mod Camaro that ran a 6.05 on day one but didnt make it the rest of the week so he didnt make the entire trip. Larry's truck is a work of art and planning and considering he is (once again) the ONLY person to do it in a real vehicle with a real VIN# he deserves all the accolades he is getting.
Good luck to Andy, Tom and Jeff, I love all their cars but until someone beats Larry with at least something that started as a real car, driven down the street daily, my admiration will stay with Larry.

And to think that 20 years or more ago that car was driving about "NOT LIKE IT IS NOW" But the hart and sole of what it is now ! I remember it from the Aldersley area of Wolverhampton ???

most people dont know how hard it is to get a good time at santa pod i promise on another track Rv3 would atleast do a 6.20sec@235mph but i know andy wants to do a 5.20sec at the santa pod he wants to go the extra mile and then some to prove Rv3 is King even when everything is against it and i know with 4000Whp that the improvrd Rv3 is going to kill it go Andy and go Rv3!

When it gets to this level suddenly it's all about how much money you can put together to get your car in the 5s. It's almost always about money at the top level of sport, hobby craft etc...

It's gonna be back and forth, Larry Larson is gonna come back and break it again, that camaro is tuned by Larson shop too I think.

Alot easier in the usa to have a road legal race car less regulations. Crowd funding is awesome
All I will say is if we could get Andy to the U.S. For drag week I do not think anyone would stand a chance that is personal opinion
But my opinion doesn't matter what I want to know is how many others would like to see this happen

Street Car? Where? That's a tube chassis with a fiberglass wrap NOT a street car sorry.
The rule is: If it can legally be driven on the street, it's a "street car". When I used to go to Santapod the street cars had to prove they were actually driveable on the street by driving around a course on the roads around the track with a marshal, before coming back and being able to race.
Your personal definition is irrelevant.
Wrong . The rule is if you can register the car and legally drive down the highway. And its not my personal definition, That's how its done here in America(NHRA) where we invented street racing so fuck off. And like I said before that's not a fucking stock frame or body you cant even get a salvage tag for that. Are you gonna call those slicks street radials next? LOL.
