@@fjbowen3155 I also have a 49. I removed the 350 engine and transmission and put it in my 50. It's parked on our ranch in South Texas full of wasps and rattle snakes.
hey Phil. yeah that driver side cowl panel ...i did mine without having the door on , and now i have to go back and cut the bottom loose to adjust the bottom line to the door bottom. hindsight is 20/20
I think Ill be able to make everything work right now... we are pretty close all around.... I just have to keep reminding myself this was a 50s farm truck... not a modern day sports car..... when all is said and done, this will be much nicer than when it rolled off the factory floor 70+ years ago :)
Life got in the way of the build..... but I'l be back at it soon...... and yes I'll be posting additional videos....... the next will be power windows...
I've had good luck with the PB Blaster :) I'll be doing my custom install of Altman latches next.... everything has been soaking with PB blaster for a week or so... hoping it all comes apart easily... we'll see!
These front shock mounts came with the air ride kit I bought back in 2020 from Fire Bird Industrial... www.ebay.com/itm/163081926197 You can probably reach out to them about purchasing JUST the shock mounts I'm sure. They have been very responsive every time I've asked them questions. Hope that helps :)
Not chopping the top... but shaving the door handles. Next up I'll be doing a 'custom' install of the Altman latches on the truck..... We installed them on Dave's truck about a year ago, they were pretty much bolt on... but since my truck hasn't be painted yet... I might weld them in and smooth them out nicely. We'll see :)
Thanks for this video. These two items are the next two things I need to do on my truck and this was a great warm up to dig in!
Thanks for the videos.
You bet!!! I've gotta see this project thru to the end! :)
@@ShowPhil I have been working on my 1950 for ten years. I'm 75 and I don't know which will get finished first... me or the truck.
@@friotexas "Same here, only mine's a 49, gotta it as a "basket" ".

@@ShowPhil yeah, I noticed when I replaced my entire floor, i ended up making it more square than i found it.
Are you going to put the rest of the videos up to show completion of truck? We're on the edge of our seats!!!
