For some reason, the DLC in Souls games is almost always unnaturally good. Artorias of the Abyss, Three Crown DLCs, Old Hunters, Ringed City, and I guess Ashes of Ariandel was okay...
@@szarekhthesilentking7043 That one DLC was good, and the character and bossfight were great. However I still think the other two DLC were shit, save for Alonne and the Fume Knight fights themselves (though then again, that run up to Alonne is typical DS2).

The Ringed City is one of the coolest areas and is pretty original and The Dreg Heap is fun to explore ( Although this game has enough swamps/swamplike areas tbf ) but the infinite respawning enemies or the clerics sniping you from afar are just stupid, some parts just push you to rush, it's not fun to deal with 50 ambushes over and over without reward, thankfully a couple do reward you. I ran through it last night and was impressed as well. I still have to beat the Darkeater Midir. I was hoping after I gave the dark soul to the painter I would be drawn into a Painted World like the original Dark Souls, but was happy nonetheless.
We all have different opinions and that is what makes us unique. You obviously had higher expectations. I have learned to expect nothing but more challenges from FromSoft. Most of everything beyond Dark Souls including Lore was recycled but I still enjoyed 2 and 3 and this DLC was fun and holds replay which is all I can ask for any game or DLC.
I agree they made some enemies ridiculous which made for a harder trek. The Angels were very frustrating until I realized where they were coming from. Trying not to include unnecessary spoilers
well one new thing was this dumb puzzle with the chameleon spell... well, imo realy a bad puzzle, but hey, a new idea xD and i agree, for the last part of this genius series, it was quite disappointing :/ oh and one more thing, for the lore, patches=velka! thats why he/she was banned from anal londo xD
He REBUILT the Dark Soul. Kaathe's dialogue in DS1 revealed that the Pymgy fragmented the Dark Soul to create Humanity, and Gael was slaughtering Undead Humans to take their fragments.
I can't believe he failed to turn into the humanity sprite THAT many times. Considering that you only got three from Abyss Swamp itself, it would have been nigh on impossible for Lobos to figure that out legitimately, simply due to bad luck.
@@jhenny3595 Granted, I did find it incredibly disappointing they cut out so many special mechanics, and even reduced the impact of NG+ to just upgraded rings. People rag on DS2, but I loved the fact there were so many little things to find, and that NG+ was more than just enemies with bigger healthpools and higher damage output values.
@@lsfaraone To be fair, DS1 was the exact same when it comes to NG+ mechanics, as is Bloodborne. I never see people complain about them, so that criticism is unfair towards DS3.
@@TheStraightestWhitest The first game gets a pass because it didn't have to be more than it was. There was nothing but DeS to compare to, but that's little more than a cult classic. As for BB, it at least offers Chalice Dungeons to compensate on the front of extra content. And then when even 2, despite its plethora of development fumbles, could make worthwhile NG+ content on top of secrets, 3 has no excuse, imo. 3 is incredibly linear, features little build variety/flexibility compared to its predecessors, and on top of it features incredibly dumbed down mechanics and minimized secrets with no notable NG+ content. Add that all up and for a fifth entry in their notable little genre, it fails to do a lot of things that were great about the ones that came before. It doesn't bother to do enough in multiple categories that any of the others do better, thus why I have such a problem with it. The imagery and soundtracks are really the only things I can actually like about 3, but I don't play Dark Souls just for the fights, so it as the third one doesn't get a pass just because the two others don't offer the same NG+ stuff. They had the resources to do so in 3 they didn't have with 1, and BB, as I mentioned, included Chalices, which are an entirely different chunk of content that more than compensates for a handful of NG+ exclusive items.
the most amazing part of this is how you can play completely new and unknown darksouls content for 8 hours without once losing your cool. How do you keep such a level head during encounters, some of which are the most frustrating thus far in Dark Souls? Share your master gaming wisdom, oh great master of dark souls!

@@emerald3616 you're correct, there hasn't been one since DS. I was just replying to the person who seemed to think it was an insane idea to think, and said this isn't monster hunter. Was just pointing out that it hass been done before multiple times in the first DS, so even though there hasn't been one in 2 or 3, its not a completely crazy thought to check, especially considering it was the final DS content ever and was a huge dragon, and could possibly have been a hidden callback to DS.
They said this was the last dark souls, but they could easily do something with this new painted world. If not then hopefully they'll do something else dark souls-esc in the future.

@@soulsatzero3788 if you call retcons references xD They just copy pasted ds1 with new names and added a few ds2 items saying "the new shit in ds2 is all false, let's go back to how it was in ds1... ...poise? What's poise?"
@@GothicKin Retconning is a big issue with Dark Souls 3 anyway. Does not only have to do with DS2. I would even say that they didnt treat it in any way as bad as people make it. I mean in DS1 they made a huge deal about how people when they go hollow they slowly go mad and lose their "personality" and stuff. But now in DS3 there is a land of the hollows. Also Gwyn suddenly apparently had many more kids and Ornstein apparently did not die? I mean, i know that there is the theory that Ornstein was just an illusion, but thats also the point where it gets really dumb. Because then you can explain all kind of shit with "well, actually it was just an illusion". The whole pygmy situation also seems so weird and just like they added it on top, like most of the whole Ringed City DLC in general. I liked DS3, like the other games as well and i also kind of like the DLC. And i totally like some of the stories that they tell (and Anor Londo in DS3 was one of my highlights, even though many complain about "fan service"). But for me it really feels like they had problems to make a sequel. DS2 just told its own story which was cool and DS3 tried to somehow continue the story and tie together lose ends, but gave up halfway.
Well their current plans are for 3 games: one is most likely a spiritual successor to Dark Souls, the second is probably a new Armored Core, and the third is "something weird" according to Miyazaki. But maybe at DS1's anniversary
Lord Snivy Which is what i prefer for now honestly. To be more specific, they said "souls from a different angle", which sounds super interesting to me. A dark souls 1 remake would be very interesting as well tho. But preferably later.
I agree. I'd like to see what they're making right now. A DS1 remake would be nice, but I agree that they should hold off, probably until its anniversary in 2021. I'm hoping their next Souls-style game is sci-fi. I would absolutely love a Giger-esque sci-fi souls experience, like how Bloodborne was Lovecraftian. But at any rate, can't wait to see where they go from here.
Lord Snivy Miyazaki did say one of these three games would be dark fantasy if I remember correctely. So, I don't think we are getting sci fi souls just yet. Although giger-esque sci fi souls does sound really cool. Miyazaki also said the he would like to combine sci fi and medieval one day. The anime he compared that idea to was escaflowne. But he also said that is not in the works right now. But yeah, I am really curious about this new souls esque title. Very interested about what they mean by "from a different angle". I also heard some rumors about a bloodborne 2 a few months ago(which I wouldn't turn down at all either), but this "from a different angle" quote makes me believe we are looking at something new (which would be my preference at this point). Hopefully we hear about it at E3.
While I hope it's not yet another fantasy setting, I'd take whatever they gave us. I just want more games of that genre. Whatever it is, I hope it's multi-platform, because I only own an Xbox One. I'll be getting a Switch though, and Fromsoft is on their list of supporters, so I'm hoping whatever they make next will also be on the Switch, if not on Xbox One.
I'm currently stuck at the end of this DLC (and the previouse one as well) so it was fun to watch somebody who normally breezes through the games by an impressive memory of tactics, cheeses and glitches actually experience something for the first time. :)
6:06:28 This is another thing I'm not sure I noticed the first time I watch Lobos's playthrough. That lightning that shows up in Gael's third phase actually hurts him. Doesn't really matter though because it was literally doing 2 damage to him (per lightning strike I think), lol. I wonder if there's lore on that though. It doesn't look like he's summoning the lightning. Also lightning in the Dark Souls series is never blue. I think the lightning in Gale's fight is the only lightning that's blue. That's weird. Edit: the Mirror Knight in Dark Souls 2 uses white lightning but I thought I remember it having a yellowish tint. Lightning is blue in Bloodborne but I don't consider that a souls game (and I don't think it's tied to the Dark Souls world at all).
2:36:15 I don't know remember if I noticed this the first time I saw this playthrough but his Claymore is "Heavy" infused even though he has 40 str & 30 dex. Why have all that dex and not have your main weapon utilize it alongside the strength scaling? I know he has a bow and that's why I said MAIN weapon. Wouldn't he have been better off with a Quality +10 Claymore? Edit: I forgot that in Dark Souls 3 Quality infused weapons are called "Refined".
Man Lobos is awesome, he checks items, he's good at the game and knows his stuff even for something he's playing blindly, he is doing very well. I wish him nothing but the best!
Lobos' 'It's over!' at the end had me in stitches. After watching the end of an amazing game series, with all the build up and nostalgia, that cut through it like a knife. 10/10 WOULD DIE AGAIN
I'm surprised you had as much trouble with Gael as you did. You seemed to do a lot better on the dragon than I did, but I beat Gael on the second try. XD Just goes to show how difficulty is hugely subjective.

Arya Svit-kona You have t go up by lap, and then head towards the bridge the normal way to earthen peak ruins. Before you drop down from the bridge (where you plunge the large enemy) head to the right side of the bridge, and you can drop down. If you fight a couple of enemies, you get a new weapon.

Trying not to include unnecessary spoilers
well one new thing was this dumb puzzle with the chameleon spell... well, imo realy a bad puzzle, but hey, a new idea xD
and i agree, for the last part of this genius series, it was quite disappointing :/
oh and one more thing, for the lore, patches=velka! thats why he/she was banned from anal londo xD
He REBUILT the Dark Soul. Kaathe's dialogue in DS1 revealed that the Pymgy fragmented the Dark Soul to create Humanity, and Gael was slaughtering Undead Humans to take their fragments.
5:54:57 is that the fucking white soapstone?
Dude weaponized the soapstone......
I didn't even know he could do that. That's so awesome!
Holy shit! Never noticed that!
Holy shit, THAT'S how he teleports. That's awesome!
Surprised you didn't notice that the room at 1:39:00 is identical to the room where Frampt is by Firelink in DS1
7:59:00 funny he says that, since he missed the Ruin Armor.
Oh no...I'm triggered. I can't believe he fucking missed that armor set. That bugs me so much.

I can't believe he failed to turn into the humanity sprite THAT many times. Considering that you only got three from Abyss Swamp itself, it would have been nigh on impossible for Lobos to figure that out legitimately, simply due to bad luck.

"It would have been way better than Old Hunters if you could cut Midir's tail." - Actual quote from LobosJR, 2017
Adam Kowal i wonder if i should take him seriously when he says those kind of things
L Faraone DS2 had a lot of cool mechanics. Unfortunate that the overall game was what it was.
They had the resources to do so in 3 they didn't have with 1, and BB, as I mentioned, included Chalices, which are an entirely different chunk of content that more than compensates for a handful of NG+ exclusive items.
man Lobos you killed the demon prince the hard way solo lol respect

I am internally screaming: "STOP TRYING TO HIT HIS DAMN TAIL THERE IS NO TAIL CUT STOOOOP!!!!!"
Its an admittedly cool mechanic that im honestly glad is gone. I died 10 times juat trying to get seath's tail only to give up and kill him in one go
Same, he's really dumb. It's not fucking MH.
@@808BassMetal what the hell does MH have to do with anything? He was trying to cut the tail because all 5 dragons in Dark Souls' tails could be cut to receive special weapons.
@@JTisOneCrazyMan20 I believe there hasn't been a single tail cut that gives a special weapon since Dark Souls 1 and there were no tailcuts whatsoever in Dark Souls 3. There was no reason for him to believe he could.
This dude makes me enjoy these games even more... Ready for new playthroughs!
pygmies and the dark soul?! take my lore money.

disappointing conclusion to the painting story though. But yeah some good lore bombs in the ringed city
They said this was the last dark souls, but they could easily do something with this new painted world. If not then hopefully they'll do something else dark souls-esc in the future.

They definitely said it was their last.

Gael is by far my fav fight of any soulsgame... Espescially when you realize how ancient he really is.
This was my first LobosJr vid I ever watched. Wicked late to the party, but it’s almost been a year of the Wolfpack and figured I should just say thank you Lobos for all the entertainment. Gotten me through some tough times indeed
I know it's four years later but I hope you are doing well, keep soldering on ashen one
once you defeat gael you are canonically the strongest being to ever exist because when you fight gael he had killed every single living being ever and you fight at the literal end of the world
personally i don’t think gael killed everyone, in the opening trailer you can see pygmies still walking across the ash

@@soulsatzero3788 if you call retcons references xD
They just copy pasted ds1 with new names and added a few ds2 items saying "the new shit in ds2 is all false, let's go back to how it was in ds1...

Idea: They remake Dark Souls 1 in the DS3 engine, updating the graphics and player movement in doing so
Well their current plans are for 3 games: one is most likely a spiritual successor to Dark Souls, the second is probably a new Armored Core, and the third is "something weird" according to Miyazaki.
8:06:56 I was expecting it to say make Londor great again....
Lightning is blue in Bloodborne but I don't consider that a souls game (and I don't think it's tied to the Dark Souls world at all).
on the first hour you were basically walking in earthen peak wasn't it? that's the giant mill thingy!
Scaling is much better for both STR and DEX infusions than the quality infusions, making the "refined" stone useless.
LMFAO finishes perving at patches squat, NPC “what’s wrong with you?” Hahahahaha

Nice job on that Midir guy. I'm on my 43 try (I know, because that's how many Embers I had), and still can't beat him
Lobos' 'It's over!' at the end had me in stitches. After watching the end of an amazing game series, with all the build up and nostalgia, that cut through it like a knife. 10/10 WOULD DIE AGAIN
