I don't really like the extremely vibrant variatons, although I can agree it does look pretty nice on this one. I still would take one that has a bit duller color than this though.
I'm in the market for one, but there's so much variation in the tops, it's become a hunt for the right one. Yours is one of the prettiest I've ever seen, you lucked out!
That particular guitars finish is insane. Looks great! I actually got this guitar during the Black Friday sales and got to say... I'm super thrilled I've got it. PRS just feel great to play and i love the tones of the Seymour Duncan pickups.
Love your guitar reviews Raf! Hope to see more. This guitar is not for me way too expensive for what you get.You used to get used prs SE,s in the 250$ range if you were lucky!
Thanks for the kind words Stephen! Taking a few days to celebrate the extended holiday season but I got lots of cool and exciting stuff coming up in the next few months. Some great budget options as well as some really nice mid priced and higher end models too.
great honest review. agree that locking tuners should be on at that price point. they are standard of modern imports that cost much less in 2024. but hey, maybe it will be an upgrade for the third gen so they can get people to buy more.
First of all, what a beautiful sound you are getting from that guitar. I see you are using a mac mini M1?, M-AUDIO 192/8 ? maybe, Logic Pro or Garage Band. Are you using the built in guitar effects in Logic Pro or Garage band? It sounds so good, but your playing makes it sound so good. Those pickup are killer. If I wanted to spend over $800 on a guitar, it would be this.
Thank you Mitch! For the clean/Hi gain/lead tones I have the guitar going in through the M-Audio 192/8, plugged into my Mac Mini M2, using external plugins with Garageband. The plugins are: Clean: Archetype Tim Henson Hi Gain: ML Amped Roots (Free plugin) Lead: Archetype John Petrucci Plugins go a long way, which makes it a little more feasible to spend $800 on a guitar lol.
Thanks for the feedback. I probably didn't go too much into detail because, well, I didn't love them. Don't get me wrong, they sound good and are very versatile but felt more like a jack of all trades, master of none kind of thing. They lack a bit of high end and clarity for me. They are not muddy but heavy on the mid and bass eq. They are almost like a higher gain version of the SD pearly gates but with less high end. Hope that helps, thanks again for the feedback.
You got lucky with that top!
He really really did, when I saw the thumbnail I was like damn that looks *really* expensive.
you're not joking. mine is nowhere near as vibrant as that. much darker
No kidding that's the first thing I thought too

Just bought one from Sweetwater and got to choose which one. They list 5 at a time but can always ask a sales rep for more.

@@kirbyjakescarborough4515 Thanks for the kind words man!
wow you really won the quilt lottery with that one. did you order it sight unseen?
Sight unseen!
That guitar looks and sounds amazing! Great review!
Thank you!
Hey, great review! That's one very blue guitar right there :)
Did you by chance measure its weight?
@@AndrewP Thanks man. I want to say it was just about 8 lbs when I measured it.

I got one and it looks almost black. lol but I love it!
Crazy how the finish differs ... a bit too much blue for me 😅 but hell yeah
🔥🔥🔥

Not bad looking, but I'm thinking a green PRS would look a lot better. 😁
Funny you say that. There's a green PRS video coming in 2 weeks 👀
blue guitars are my favourite
Wow mine is not that blue at all...
I think the features are better on the Indonesian guitars, but the QC imho is not as good as the Korean made ones.
I 100% agree with you.
Yeah dude… that fucken top is killer… for that price…
Agreed. It looks so so good.
feels amazing to play too
Wow, a bit disappointing to say the least, I have a PRS SE Custom 24 that I love and has zero issues!
Too much talk in the looking, value and zero in the pickups and their characteristic sounds.
