Mistake at 02:04:58. Paul's friend spends the clay on a path, then realizes he cant do it, doesnt build the path but doesnt put clay back either, then for building he needs the 2 clay, he pays 2 Thaler for it. So lost 2 points for no reason, he had the clay.
End of first round you shouldn't have placed a coin on the last square on the bottom row. Paul used that space with the third action but just handed that token over too fast. Thank you for the play through. Looks a lot like glass road
Not sure I like a lot of the changes. The iconography seems less clear than the original. Also, the tokens to say how many activations a building has had seem a little redundant. It's never seemed like an issue in the original.
In this version two buildings can be activated at same time by placing second bridge between both. Due to this (bad) rule they need those (bad) activation markers.
@@Orcallo.what!? I didn’t realise there was a rule change. Hmm. I did think that was an odd little rule in the original, but I liked the extra consideration you had to give about when you activated stuff.
It would be very helpful in these kinds of videos if people could name the cards they are taking/activating/ referring to, as they are doing so, rather than just saying “this” or “there”. Viewers can’t discern them visually so it would make it much more interesting to know what’s what.
Seems like the iconography might be better, but the look of the game is dark and ugly. And the small square cards seem to have sacrificed utility for space. And the subtle color differences between roads and canals is just stupid. I imagine the only chick on color was done on a bright monitor where the colors looked sufficiently different. Glad the US release will "fix" some of the less clear aspects, such as the color difference of the canals / roads. But my old eyes sure prefer the bright and more easily read first edition.
Ho ho ho ! Santa is here !!! Thank you so much Paul for the video and your time !
Happy holidays!
Wow this game looks really fun. Another one added to my wishlist . Thank you for this playthru!
Any time!

Oranienburg is a town north of Berlin.
We know that now :)
First!
Love your channel Paul
Awesome! Thank you!

Great video Paul 😊 would have loved a review on this one 😃
PS. Kanal does NOT have its own entry on BGG! Just so you know.
Yeah, I misunderstood what the publisher was telling me when we were recording this.

Where can you even buy this game!?!

Square cards and no yellow buring your eyes out? Kanal looks a lot nicer than the original.
Couldn't disagree more. The orignal has a unique look and square cards are annoying and get turned around all the time.
I prefer the look of this one
