Great stuff, I've been hearing about this device in CART/IndyCar broadcasts for 3 decades but it's the first time I see how it's done mechanically.

Yes on the RR wheel. Expanding it will decrease cross weight (puts more weight on RR to saturate the tire with load earlier - oversteer), collapsing it will increase cross weight (saturated RF first - understeer)

Yup, basically, controls how much the car tips over, sorta like a table with a tall leg.

Get rid of it. This tech, along with NASCARs driver controlled track bar, F1's automated dropping spoiler, push to pass, etc should all be nothing but bad memories. They're all similar to a holeshot device in motocross and serve no purpose in the end. After all, the less gimmicks involved, the more the basics and skill matter.

But since this is driver-controlled, it increases the skill ceiling, and makes the race result less dependent on the team finding a good setup. Get rid of it and you're giving another advantage to the large budget teams.

And yet one more person who has no idea about the complexities of this sport and how the drivers are able to"fix" the car with various in-cockpit adjustments - the very best drivers know how to super fine tune the car to their advantage, which is all part of the driver skills this sport has always been about.
