amazing, IVE seen Kim in Austin,st pete fla and orlando.met and spoke to him several times at Antones, just a great player and a pure gentelman. power house of tone.I wa=nna set my harps on fire and take up the triangle.
In reply to 59bassman, I'd say that nothing could kill this vibe! Kim's energy is colossal. Mind you, that's what is required if you're going to play a Little Walter classic like this, as both of Walter's recorded versions were stunning. Rave on, Kim! Best wishes from the U.K.
The song is actually 'I Love You So' by Little Walter, alternatively known as 'Oh Baby, also by Little Walter. Both of Walter's versions are superb - as is this. The guitarist quotes liberally from Howlin' Wolf's 'Rockin' Daddy' on Chess (Jody Williams on guitar) Best wishes from the U.K.
The mic is an Astatic 200A. Probably with a crystal element, yes. But I can tell you, although it is a great mic, the tone is all coming from Kim. There is not a mic in the world he wouldn't sound great through. TRUST me when I say, it is the indian, not the arrow!
Such a pleasure having Marty in the background...
Christ on a bike but he's tasty, his phrasing is something else. Thanks for putting that up, its nice to 'see' him play.
I've heard lots of versions of this song by Kim Wilson but I aint never heard it better than this.
nr 1 player in the world. king of harp playing!!!!!!!
@MrWoodyblues Having Kim Wilson, Charlie Musselwhite and Mark Hummel on one bill - man it was "harp in heaven".
Thank you Judsons!
What a tone, crativity, rhythm. His playing comes from the pelvis!! The best of them all. (except L.W. of course)
