Winter Outdoor Tarp Shelter, Baking Bread On Open Flames, Canvas Tarp.

- I head out on a Bushcraft Solo Winter Overnight and set up my outdoor tarp shelter and bake a tasty loaf of bread in nature over the fire. Open Description for more info.
Come along with me as I do a solo overnighter as the weather starts to turn cold. This tarp setup is meant to be setup quick and easy giving me a place out of the wind from all sides for the night.
It was a beautiful 8*C during the day but it got pretty cool at night, down to -1*C. Having a military cold weather sleeping bag made it so it was comfortable.
Before I head off to bed I cook up my supper which was a small loaf of whole wheat bread, some beef and pork sausages, yellow and red peppers an onion and one forgotten about potato.
Thank you all for watching my video.

Verdad!
That’s some good lookin bread there my friend! The shelter thingy is what it is. Just do me a solid next time and clear those pine needles away from the fire next time. 🙂
Interesting indeed how you set that up!!
Poor potato. haha! Everything else looked fantastic. Thanks for bringing us along!
lmao yeah i was pretty much done eating when i remembered it. had a good spoonful still in the centre still lol
Excellent looking bread, should taste great. With good use of minimal equipment you've had a fine camp out. Don't worry there will be other potatoes. Thanks Brian 79

Absolutely love your channel, brother. You have incredible skills and your no-talking approach definitely appeals to me. Great stuff, my friend.
Thank you for the kind words :)
Looks like you had a great, and very relaxing, time. The bears must be non-existent. Thanks for the video. VERY well done!

Oh my goodness IAM so sorry it happens!!
Nice man. I'll be doing an overnighter soon as well on my channel. (Canada) Thanks for the vid
Cool man ill have to check it out :)
I took lots of ideas in this video , like the bench and the tarp setup. Your tarp looks heavy, do you know the weight? Heavy canvas I guess ?
Your potatoe looks more like a piece of charcoal now, Mr and Mrs Potatoe wouldnt be proud of you 😂. So glad I found your channel , its relaxing and educative at the same time
Thanks
It is a heavy duty canvas tarp yes, i'd say it's around 35 or 40 pounds. Both the sleeping bag and tarp are older than i am and still going strong. You don't know how bad I wanted to eat that potato too, I was pretty disappointed lol. Thanks for the kind words and hope you have a wonderful day. Cheers Eric
Poor ol tater
I enjoyed your video. Like how you made your shelter, made a fire and cooked your bread. Peaceful place. Plan to watch more.
Hobo life kinda stinky. No show day in day out same underwear you start stinking like a skunk but lots of fresh air outdoors and no crazy people around in the bush and all that kind of stuff makes you happy 😃
I wonder what happens to a potatoe when you forget about it
Looks like a good meal to bad about the tater
Great video, got to get in touch with yourself, no better place to do it. Sorry about your tater, maybe a peice of foil is in your future. I have forgotten them in foil and they still get burnt.
I often put them in foil and bury them under the fire and they turn out real nice.
LOL! Thank you, I won 5 bucks on whether you'd burn that tater and we had one hell of a conversation about the best way to cook them.
LMAO thats funny. You woulda won either way though, skin always looks like charcoal when you cook them like that. .
Using wrong type of potato for that .. you need a baker ,, thick skin potato .. or a sweet potato
@@kenbarrett2500 That came up in our 30 minute discussion LOL
No reflector?
Next Video. I'm building a reflector just for you :)
I'm trying to go ketogenic, and you have to bake that perfect crusty loaf. SMH
What camera and lens or lenses are you using? Getting some really nice shots there bro
Thanks im using the Canon 80d with 18-55 kit lens. would like to get a better lens in the future though.
@@NatureBound yes sir. I am using the same kit lens on my SL2. I recently got the Nifty Fifty. Obviously it has its limitations, but I've been very impressed with photos on getting, especially with the bokeh. I've only done a couple of tests for video, but for $100 US, seems like a really good value. Late reply, I put your video in watch later and apparently never wandered back to it. Cheers
мужик !ты изобретатель у тебя есть чему поучиться
does coal destroy the seasoning on the skillet?
Nope. once im done cleaning the pan with steel wool. (never use soap on cast iron). I wipe it down with a bit of veg oil, keeps it brand new. :)
I'm not sure about other types of skillets or pans though as I have only ever used Cast iron, steel and aluminum pots with no coating on them over an open flame. I hope i answered your question
Where exactly in Canada?
east edge of algonquin park
You should talk.
funny hes cooking healthy & then puts 3 hotdogs in hunn imagin that.
They're beef and pork sausages, and tasty ones :)
it is not good fire place...one day they set fire to the forest
it's winter time. you couldn't buy a forest fire right now lol
I have many videos that take place in the summer. In them you can see how I treat a fire much different during the summer.
