Dear Mark, My comment perhaps belongs elsewhere. However, I took to heart your message of planting the cores of purchased market produce. Last April I planted the core of a cabbage we made sour kraut from. Today, it has the form of one of the most beautiful heads I’ve ever grown! Thank you so much for all your suggestions and help! We are in the west desert of Utah, USA and we love you! I wish I could show you a photo of our little cabbage head.
Listen to the coral of those birds. Beautiful. - I love and miss this Australian humour. My father used to praise the attributes of oil of Wintergreen for torn muscles and bone fractures. Mark, you are so refreshing.
You are an inspiration, a gentle, disciplined soul, a blessing to your family and community. Please do not lose your ways. Listening is very soothing. Bless you and yours.
Social media has really stopped a lot of real community, get out and talk to your neighbor, make a real phone call, grow food and share!! Thank you for discussing this modern day issue!!

If he set up cameras for the birds, that would trick the birdwatchers into slowly joining and wanting to be self sufficient, they’d come for the birds but stay for the veg. Marketing!
You have sufficient sufficiency for yourself! ❤ Part of self sufficiency is making sure your life is actually something you can contentedly maintain yourself, so this actually means cooperation and collaboration ARE self sufficient elements.
Hi Im Cristina , and I live in Ukiah California , beautiful garden, I-love you’re tecnifique Thank you helping me a lot , on my garden 🪴 Good bless you,🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😷😷😷😷🪴🪴🪴

We love AUSTRALIA have visited about six times already! DH and I are in our late 70's and just now starting our full garden--following your instructions. ZONE 4/5 for us! Keep up the good work!
Wow! At 72 this is my second year canning veg and fruit that has come my way and first real garden since youth! No squash😢 but beans like crazy!! And I never knew I love chard! Moving from Kansas to Oklahoma!
Same! Mark has inspired me to start gardening both indoors and outdoors, and now I have more plant pots than I know what to do with lolll, it's great!!
Hi neighbor! I'm in North Florida, a lot like Mark's area I think. Yeah, Mark has inspired me to simply give gardening a go! Sometimes I simply have his videos playing because I find them so relaxing and relatable. Anyway, blessings to you all!💜👍🙏
@@sherryberry2394 omg yes, gardening content is so calming, and I often just listen to it in the background when i'm doing work or whatever else. It's awesome!
For the fellow Cali person...keep buckets or containers at sink. Save all clean run off water from your taps ( like waiting for hot to kick in, water from boiled veggies ect.) Steer clear of grey waters for consumable plants but it's fine for grasses and landscape. We also keep buckets at our gutter downs spouts and get small amounts from the fog. Great down to earth guy....your so right Mark about the muscle memory at a young age,and keeping it going into later life.Love your garden...im in Tassie in a temporate climate, but i still get so much out of your utube videos, all the time....take care..see you next time.
Hey Mark, good to see you again. You’re better than I am with technology even if you are struggling. Love and look forward to your videos here in Britain. Good wholesome entertaining facts without the ego or bs, keep them coming please mate. 👍🇦🇺🇬🇧
Mark, just recently found your channel and subscribed. Your common sense outlook on things is great, so many things in life could be improved or solved by just stepping back and applying a little common sense to the situation. Anyway, thank you for your channel and all you do to bring us entertaining and informative content.
Just so you know, I just planted my first supermarket potatoes. I have all kinds of herbe and other veg on the go. Thank you for the help! I'm in Scotland. Not sure if I I'm too late, might be. But the point is, I have the want for it. And I'll keep trying until I get it right. I live with my partner. I was wasting SO many bits of veg and fruit as I am really the only person who likes all of it. So hoping now to be able to pick and choose when it suits me. And anything not used can be used in another way. So happy. Thank you
Missed your livestream here in the Philippines. But watching now as we have a good rain coming down. Our corn here is up between 8 inches to a little overwhelmed a foot high. Really needed the rain
you are a joy to watch. i have gardened on/off for over 25 years. when i was younger it was bigish in ground plots. i do not have a lot of land. but would make the garden as large as i could while still leaving yard for play. when my nest emptied i began switching over to container gardening. it has been a learning journey. the results were sad until this year. i spent this past winter doing so much research. watching your videos and i also like epic gardens. and some others. so this year on st. paddy's day i put out a spring crop. i have never had a successful spring crop. our weather goes from winter - heavy rains - spring winks at ya - then really hot weather. and sometimes you get all that in one day. but with all my new knowledge - i actually got a small harvest of beets- carrots- taters. and a few handfuls of sugar snap peas. they really needed a few more weeks. but we are having 100degree or higher temps and its been nearly 3 weeks with no rain. the plants were stressing. so i decided a small harvest is better than no harvest. the broccoli i planted on st. paddy's day- big beautiful plants - not one single head. but i left those - i want to watch them and learn from them. most ofmy summer stuff is beautiful. i have been snipping herbs for weeks. tomatoes - cukes are the prettiest i have seen since i switched from in ground to containers. my zukes are struggling with the heat. but i have not gave up on them yet. peppers got attacked by something-i never saw what was eating it. but whatever it was they left me about 8 plants. and those are liking this heat. i have flowers and i am trying some popcorn and amaranth. sorry to ramble on- but i just wanted to share my renewed joy in gardening.
Hi Mark, I'm living in Sri Lanka at present and I'm really enjoying the show, as I'm trying to get my vegi garden going over here as the climate is great but the soil needs lots of work, glad for the tips, and great to hear the Aussie accent and humer, as I'm missing home terribly. God bless bye... love those pumpkins 👍🙋
Honestly you could sit that camera out there all day and I can just listen to the environment! I love it! Hamilton, Ohio U.S. here- 6B just north of Cincinnati and the Ohio River. Love your channel and can't wait for a Gardener's hat ❤️
When you get older it’s nice having raised beds for you can get in here and take care of them easier and pick your fruits and vegetables off easier and also knowing where you’re heading on your garden space do you have a great job thank you so much for a wonderful video
I have learnt so much from you and it is such a good feeling dishing up a meal that is all from our garden. Thank you for sharing your great tips with us, you are easy to watch and listen to and I love your raised gardens, so much easier on the back 👍🏻
I personally enjoy the simplicity of your videos and tutorials! I have learned so much and used many of them. For me in the garden and day to day low tech gets the job done I as a gardener and viewer do not need high technology videos. Simple, honest and clear information is why I follow your channel. But I hope u reach where u want to be and how u want it to be. Thank you.
this amazing and I love an share the same values,I am a people person and so Ive gone and helped local friends to start something in their own garden. something to get them away from the laptop, when they work at home and I've told them half an hour in the garden, can just take away the stresses and intake the vitamin D when we get the sun, which is not often in the Uk.
Mark, I'm in the U.S. after my first fourteen years in Sydney. As for me, I would gladly watch coverage of the many kooks and other birds & wildlife, etc. that are native to your QLD garden. Love the peals of laughter from the treetops. You could even have their images embroidered into your garden hats. I look forward to your garden observations, and smile at your Aussie humour. Cheers!
You know it's amazing to me as many people use pallet compost bays, you are the first person to actually explain taking the unfinished compost and flipping it from Bay one to Bay 2 and then the finished to bay three! I built three for myself and I figured it was the way it was supposed to be but for years I've been watching UA-cam and here you're the first person to actually lay it out in steps! LOL thanks mate!
I love your channel! We are just opposite climate. We are Sub Arctic but I just love seeing your use of containers, the climate difference and also knowledge I can glean as well. Thank you! Your talks are calming in a world of madness! I love gardening and we have many containers in our yard as well but not nearly as interesting as yours!
Depending on how fast your mobile data is in your area you could possibly use that to Livestream in the future and walk anywhere on your property without it dropping out. Just put a mobile hotspot on your phone, chuck it in your pocket, and then you have portable internet all over your property (and everywhere else you have mobile coverage, for that matter).
I agree about the isolation, we need to make a point to move past it and keep in contact with each other. Hey I just ordered 2 fruit trees, berries, grapes, rhubarb and onions to start off my backyard food patch! cant wait to get started. Thank u
This Live was awesome!!!! The sounds of the wildlife in the background made it so cool to listen too. It must be annoying to you but if you asked me, I am always ready to hear the birds to you and each other. A few videos back a kookaburra landed right next to you!! I fell in love with that bird! I have two hummingbirds and a bluejay that visit me when I'm out in my garden.
Hi Mark! We have many hats from Head'n Home Hats, an American manufacturer with a wide variety of hats. We use the Hawk Mesh Sun Hat in the garden because it has a mesh section to vent air and a soft fabric wide brim so we can actually put the hats in the washing machine when they get dirty. They provide velcro fabric strips they call "reducers" to help get a custom fit. Maybe they can work with you to get your logo on a hat you'll like!
Its like self checkout at the grocery seems everyone wants us to do their jobs anymore...Love yer content Mark very inspiring my empire is under construction.
Hi Mark, I don't have a garden at the moment, but I enjoy your presentations for entertainment, and the bird sounds and the kookaburra laughter ! I'm old enough to be your grandmother, and I'm sending you some sympathy for your pulled muscle on your leg. It's very painful. A MESSAGE FOR NINA, " Give your husband all the sympathy he wants, ( men are like little babies, they always want a bit of fuss when they have some pain ), and when you need some sympathy he'll be glad to give you some" God bless, God loves you all. Lucky children, growing up in such a lovely place. 😇🥝🍇🥑🍉🍍🍊
Hello Mark, I'm new to your channel I just found it today. I live in North East Arkansas, USA and wanted you to know it's been really great to find your very informative, interesting and beautiful garden.
Hello Mark, I have been paying attention to all of your Videos. The way you put that rubber mat around your beds and between them really appealed to me because I am almost totally handicapped but I refuse to quit. Would you do an update on how that stuff worked out. I believe I could do the raised beds and place that rubber mat stuff around the beds while leaving enough space (like 4 ft.) so I could use an electric wheel cart between them. I will never be able to raise things as you do. Our weather and seasons won't permit year round growing here. However; we can grow about 8 months out of the year. I am considering a green house at the both ends of my large garden. I have about an acre garden. I love your raised beds but you need to start considering how your going to be able to keep up when your older, (and yes you'll get older if you live long enough.) Jessie USA
Hi Mark, us South Africans have to stay awake until 1:30 am or go to bed early and set the alarm for 1:00. Have to settle for watching next morning. Hope you and Family are all safe and well. Brian & Essjay, George, Western Cape
Hi mate! Love your educative videos! I was looking for a video on flowers to plant to attract ladybugs and other useful critters to get rid of pests like aphids. Do you have one already? If so, I couldn't find it, if not maybe an idea for the next video?? 😊
Great stream. Love the channel. I've been unable to find more than one video of yours about tips on saving and preserving your harvests. For those of us who aren't in a year-round growing climate would you mind perhaps taking the time to create a video about preserving your fruit / veg / herb spice?....especially if you harvest more than you will be able to use before it goes off. Or if anybody can put a link in the replies to a good one I would appreciate that as well
And I'd love one with ventilation in the crown and a brim all the way around. Please don't stop "going off the track." You're on the opposite side of the world, "down under", but you feel like that favorite, super interesting nextdoor neighbor. Close by and a real joy for all of us! No games...just fun and truth!! Thanks a million to you and your wife!!
By all means, "grab me by the neck" and take me on a tour. I can't see the kookaburros from here, but they sound amazing. Love your enthusiasm and passion and positive, optimistic approach to life!! 🌱🌱🌱
I feel your pain did the same thing but to my calf in the same sport you mentioned, thought I got hit with a bebe shot, looked around in a similar way. always warm up then stretch appreciate the organic knowledge always!
From Marietta, GA. I LOVE your channel and find the information I get here very useful. I’m dealing with clay soil and struggle with amending it. Any tips would be great. Tight now I’ve starting using a liquid aerator. Thank you for all you do. FYI…Some of your ramblings make the best videos.
Sorry I missed your live but it is harvest time here in NW Florida so I’ve been busy. I sure do understand when you talk about leveling your boxes, it can get rather frustrating . We have a slope down to a creek which is why we went with the Birdies so we wouldn’t lose our soil and fertilizer. A wide brimmed hat would be awesome so ears and nose could be protected from the sun. Well have a good day.
Mark you are the man. Got me growing everything that I can to eat. Mad Respect.

Great garden tool is the "Garden Claw" it cultivates, weeds, dig holes for poles, loosens the ground.

Just replying to what you say 15 minutes in... the camera angle works great. I think it’s completely appropriate for you style of content, we can see more of the garden beds :)
Is great to hear all the birds - be interested to know what they all are!
Mostly feathered flying creatures
If he set up cameras for the birds, that would trick the birdwatchers into slowly joining and wanting to be self sufficient, they’d come for the birds but stay for the veg. Marketing!
I'm sorry I never catch live action but always watch after when I'm cleaning. Keep up the good work your doing great.
You should create a podcast and have other gardening guests on, local/small businesses talking about how they created their gardening equipment etc.
Sure super interresting👍🏼
I play your videos in the background while I work - I find your voice very soothing. Thank you for all your work, Mark!
Me too ❤

Hello Mark, I'm new to your channel I just found it today.

I love your raised beds but you need to start considering how your going to be able to keep up when your older, (and yes you'll get older if you live long enough.) Jessie USA
just building my first 4 raised beds and having great fun
I missed the live too. So sorry. Guess I Was asleep. Watching now.
I line my fence compost bins with cardboard and when it breaks down, just replace it. Never in short supply of cardboard
Love your voice it's soothing and calming, oh, and the gardening tips too. Thank you.
If you do get the hats, make sure you have a men’s and women’s (visor maybe?!), I look ridiculous in the men’s hats :D
Looking good garden. Like your videos and watched every ones.
Hi from Texas USA
Hi From Texas USA, From a Queenslander. Moved here 15 months Ago
The video was full of great information I watch from the beginning to the end
Great stream. Love the channel. I've been unable to find more than one video of yours about tips on saving and preserving your harvests.
For those of us who aren't in a year-round growing climate would you mind perhaps taking the time to create a video about preserving your fruit / veg / herb spice?....especially if you harvest more than you will be able to use before it goes off. Or if anybody can put a link in the replies to a good one I would appreciate that as well
Thanks for a wonderful video full of great information watch from the beginning to the end hugs and kisses from grandma Sandy and Debbie
You're amazing. Love your vids. Kiaora from NZ
Oh yes , hearing and seeing you.
I need a truckers hat with your logo.
I misspelled "kookaburro" and will look that up now. 😊
*Kookaburra! Wish our Kingfishers would laugh like they do. They're "cousins" after all! 🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳
P.S. Glad you won in Vegas!!💰💰💰
@@diananutt1517 so true 🤗👌

Hey Mark from Dallas Texas. Love your channel. You are the best!!!
Hi mark 👋 I love ❤️ your live videos 😍 from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺
I'm always late too. Ha! I'm so late I missed you live. But, you're good no matter which. 😉😁
FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT’S GOOD AND HOLY!!!… this starts around 25:00
