- How to build a flat floor on a Clio 172? inspired by Time attack flat floor designs I decided to use 5251 aluminum sheet to construct my version of flat floor. My Clio 172 turbo will need all the help it can get to be the fastest Clio in the country. Track car flat floor is the only way to make your front splitter and rear diffuser work as one.

Good work mate. You could even fit an Aluminium strip to the bottom of the rear beam? Would move with the beam but should still stop most of the turbulent air.
thats a good idea!!! i will do taft test firat see if there is any flow separation. can always add more later.
Tension building to see how much impact all these great mods/upgrades have on Novi when you get to unleash it on the track in anger. With recent updates it might not be too long before we see that become a reality? What a video that's going to be!

@@RuskiWeldFab one question, if you want to jacklift your car, does that structure hold? or it just bends and you need to jack it from a special point?
No it’s only 1.2mm I have jacking tubes welded to chassis
excellent work, did you weigh everything before fitting? it would have been interesting to see how much weight has been added with the aerodynamic changes. If engine bay temps get too hot maybe add some naca ducts to help suck some air out.
Hey thank a lot! No I haven’t weighted everything unfortunately. But judging by shipping weight of the sheets it’s around 7kg for flat floor. Front splitter is around 4kg, diffuser about 1.6kg. Rear wing is 7kg (with actuators). So it’s safe to assume around 20kg complete aero package. I loose weight in other places 😉 and already made and fitted reverse NACA on the splitter. Video be available soon.

Great job how'd it perform? Wanting to do something like that for my neon it's a 1g acr big turbo car. Sees street strip use and roll racing I can spin 5th with my current setup 😂 would love to suck the nose down if you have any words of advice

Thanks! I think yes I would be able to notice it! There is a reason why cars with flat floor automatically go in to pro class at time attack haha. Time will tell. Don’t have any dates yet unfortunately. But very soon!

How does the metal floor hold up with high speeds? Does the differential or transmission over heat?
floor seems to be just fine. no transmission doesn't overheat, it has oil cooler now.

That’s a very good question! Honestly I have no idea. Theoretically wet conditions would not make any difference.

i have sill stands tubes welded to chassis. and made adapter that slots inside and has a platform for the jack!
