That is an ugly looking section of water, wind waves and currents swirling everywhere and yet so many feel wearing a life jacket is optional, the guy by himself in the RIB being the biggest joker. I don't care how good a swimmer anyone is, or thinks they are, on my boat you'd have your life jacket on for that part of the journey at least or be staying at home. All it takes is an engine problem and you can sink or capsize in seconds in those conditions.
