IMHO this system, although better than most, lacks two major aspects of the particular confrontation, A) Fuel Supply ..but mostly B) CW's lack of Command and Communication especially during 1941...
good observations. I think in general the ZOC bong or '44 series whatever we want to call it, is some amalgam of exploring what ifs, at the operational level in what is really a pretty abstract way. ' air points', generic defense values for all units that are set just high enough to thwart good odds, no supply punishment on defense, throw in a few thematic rules ' road blocks inArdenne, Bridges in H'44 and here slow downs - delays, shipping and LDRG and its a 'game'. It does however do a pretty good job of giving the overall thrust of those campaigns. I think that is why it is such a popular series.

I am a Mark Simonitch enthusiast regarding his earlier versions of this game, ( I hope to be also for this one when it is going to be imported to Greece) especially TLB 2nd edition where you experience a 1,5-day Impulse action, fully unaware if you are going to play next again or your opponent and how much Movement allowance you/he may possess...!
