This knife belongs in a high-end sporting goods catalog and/or retailer, Walter!
Willie Mays made playing outfield look easy, too! Getting the grind right on a dagger is certainly the most difficult thing I've tried on my grinder, and you make it look easy. Thanks for the lesson!
Great editing and lighting, like no other. Thanks for passing on your knowledge Walter. You are the, exemplary knife-making master-teacher on UA-cam. All levels of expertise of knife making have, and do, learn from your techniques sir. You're an icon to all of us. Keep up the good work. Just my thoughts from Tucson.
I really like this shape and design. With the blade shorter it probably fits on your boot better to! Super glad to see another knife build come from you Walter!
I absolutely love this knife! This is probably the best design for a dagger, wish I could make one!
Great vid too
tnx Walter....love ur work,speech...calmness etc...greetings from Croatia
Beautiful knife Walter, thank you for the lesson.
You are a true artist. That boot knife is very cool.
I'm a huge fan. Disclaimer finished. I think having done as many videos as you've done you've nailed this one! I learned a bunch of tricks in this one. Thank you SIr!
That's a really good idea to drill your holes first. You rarely see that. You have your process down, that's forsure.
I made a jig after I saw your video on making one and it worked great! For a while. When I was new to grinding the jig was great at getting clean lines but if I was making a knife that had curves or a odd shape the jig just didn't work and I had become to dependent on it. So in the end, you have to learn to free hand grind because you can be building jigs for every knife you make! Great video as always!!!
Thanks for the video mate. You have an awesome set up for your knife making. Keep up the good work, from Australia.
Great work !
Awesome knife ... love the shape !!!!I have been wanting to make a dagger for awhile know but it is not easy !!!
I started using centering bits for a lathe to start the holes, cause I always forget until right before Heat treat, haha... Glad you were talking about tube rivets, been thinking about trying something like that. Hope all is well, take it easy.
And here I was just thinking about making a boot knife. This video was good timing. I've never made a dagger, though.
Thank you for sharing!
Awesome video!!!
Great Knife !
Love the videos
great job!
Great job.
AWESOME!!!! THANKS FOR SHARE!!
Love this knife. Would like to understand more about the choice to sand blast it the polished look was absolutely beautiful
Awesome informative Video experience Y'alls God Bless Ya Prayers 🙏
Walter this should definitely be a standard model on your site, but the original bigger one!!
Been awhile since you've done a knife video. Glad to see this one from you.
Hey brother, I haven't had much time to watch UA-cam in the last few....shit like all year. But I can tell by the thumbnail this will be one of my favorite knives. Ever. Like in the history of the world. Ima watch this video all the way through if it takes me all day
I actually got to finish the video. I knew I'd love it. I would love to have this knife. I'd carry it every damn day
Hot damn, that's a nice design/knife. Such a challenging grind on those daggers! 😂
Reminds me of a half-sized Arkansas toothpick knife I once owed. Nice design.
thanks
That is everything a Boot Knife should be , I'd use that all day long , cracking bit of kit 🤘🤘🤘👌👌👌👌
Of course you are free hand grinding the bevels, lol.
You are a master!
Walter it's been years since I've seen your videos. Keep up the awesome work. By any chance will this knife design be available for purchase at any point?
Please make this knife available on your website!
Good job
Just checked out your channel and it's pretty cool!
Druzee thanks
I like it
Great shirt ..... nice knife ..
Loved the Video and your Attention to ALL the Details a Knife like that requires to fit and not get HOT Spots in the Hand and I Agree with YOU that the Handle should be a little Bigger! I found your websites and I did not see the Dagger Boot knife there can you make a Boot Knife but more along the Size of the Operator with a 4.5 -5 inch Blade with a Cutting area that is 3/4 less than the Length of the Blade and make the handle 5 inches long. I have been looking for a GOOD EDC Fixed Blade like that but I have not found one I have heard that RMJ Tactical makes one but they are VERY hard to get they are Always out of stock!
Mr.Sorrells is already on the list for the end of the world ark.
It appears you scribed 2 grind lines for thickness of blade edge. If so, do you typically do this to a dime thickness or some other rule of thumb. Thanks! Great video
That should be one of your offered knives.
So you’re going to add a version of this to tactixarmory right?
Interesting.
очень информативно и полезно!
Liked the knife, loved the shirt. Would you tell us the story about the shirt?
Love all your videos. Thanks.
I really thought you were going to say bury it a little deeper in the bad guy or such...
Same here...would've been much cooler....I mean much creepier
Joseph Rector - Hope for the best, plan for the worst!
That is a nice knife!
@@andrewneilson227 well, you ain't carrying a knife in your boot to cut up your steak at dinner time, lol
Is sandblasting how benchmade gets that deep etching look in their G-10 handles? If so, can you use regular blasting sand or do you need bead blasting media? Thanks.
How do you normally fit the handle on a knife that is cerokoted?
Mr. Soros I have two of the hollow handle cheap camillus and Harbor freight knives blades .
how can I turn them into neck knives with a Full Tang.
PS I'm a 63 year old great-grandma and I'm just starting on knife making can you help me
Do you ever sell patterns?
Walter Sorrels I'm starting to make knives but I'm not going to heat treat do you have suggestion where I should send them to be heat treated
Great job! Watch out for those loose mask straps, they might get caught on the belt...
I love fixed blades, carrying them tho is always the problem, or the sheath is. You realize quickly no one took the time to wear test it. All sheaths are either open carry and comfortable or concealed and uncomfortable.
Do you cryo treat your s30v steel?
FINALLY, a knife maker that doesn’t use epoxy
@@BloopTube it’s not bad, I mean, it holds better than rivets for sure and I used it a lot. But epoxy will make things extremely hard for the next guy that is going to restore that knife
If you do it right and the end user takes care of it, you realistically shouldn’t need the type of deep restoration that would require removing handles. And if you do, epoxy isn’t impossible to remove. A pain in the butt for sure, but not impossible.
Anyone have a link to the scribe tool he uses?
Walter that was a great video I just have one question what was that stuff you brushed on for the drill bit to go through the steel thank you
It is cutting fluid
@@cameronmassie642 that's what I thought but it looked a little thick
Great build, I live in Canuck-istan. ..draconian self defense laws= double edge a no no
Same, it's the reason I'm going to have to make one, haven't made a knife since high school but this has been a big motivator for me
Warncliff style blade might be of use
A ball point pen is a no-no if you use it for self-defense..... we're left with nothing......legally......
Hey Walter I’m looking to see if you are willing to trade me a small fix blade knife for a new Benchmade Infidel. I bought it because it was my grail knife then I realized I have no use for it.
how do i like a video twice?
PLUNGES!
why no epoxy?
Awesome looking knife loving it. Stay safe everyone 😷.... Gazza
I have no chance of affording one of your knives but I really do appreciate your dipshit walk throughs ( not meant as offense) Your old rasp bang a shank knife I did and I love the thing . question I wear boots everyday and always wondered why it's never a handle down outside the boot really grabbable knife? kind of like ankle guns if I'm that fucked well I'm fucked
If you want blood, you got it!
Ya know you wouldn't have to hold the paper on the steel if you used a fridge magnets to hold the paper
Unbelievable amount of ads in this video, very annoying
What mask are you wearing? I’m looking for a good one.
Hello fellow psychos!
