Passan really seems to loathe Ohtani for no reason at all. Always shining a negative light on him whenever he can. He was the one who started the whole "top secret /any team who breathes a word about negotiating Ohtani gets nixxed" narrative during his free agency. Started the "high school hitter" BS back in 2018. Yet Passan never gets any pushback for it...

I've read that Fletcher is the one who actually introduced Ippei to that illegal bookie. Being a roper for an illegal bookie is very illegal in and of itself. The speed of the whole thing has been odd to me. Not that Ohtani didn't know, I actually believe him. I have worked with a couple people from Japan, and all of them at a niavity to them. Not that they were stupid or anything, just they had more of a belief in people than most people born and raised here in the US.

The US, on the other hand, is a country where racism strongly prevails despite the “diverse” demographics, guns are everywhere because people don’t even trust their next door neighbors, and has the highest crime rates amongst developed nations. Americans are the real “naive” ones, it’s not normal to be so paranoid and aggressive.

@@wingracer1614 its not the few million that effects them. It is the reputation fines and investigation that they would go through. This could lead to more fines and if there is sanctions put apon them it could close a major bank down. This is something that is very real and if one of the major banks closed it would effect the economy. Would not be now but years down the road when all the different investigations are done. The closing of one of the major banks can lead to mass inflation.
