Have never been a fan of Lex Luthor at all but, in this show not just the fact of him starting out as Clark's friend, but his knowledge and philosophies are so spot on! Making references to Shakespeare, Julius Ceaser, etc etc all amazing things. Love that from his character. Those things really can be compared to real life. I'm the first screen alone he makes a good point. "Some people are just meant to be alone." It is so true. Plus he's just got knowledge of so many things such as his advice throughout the first 2 seasons shows.

Repent of your sins or suffer the consequences. Lord Jesus died in our places personally to take the death punishment that sin deserves and then resurrected by the power of God. Believe this and sincerely repent of your sins each time you sin and you will have eternal life and nothing to fear. Fail to repent and you will end up in the Lake of Fire.
Their friendship always felt forced to me because scenes like this focused on soap opera style dialogue. Men form bonds through shared activity like sports, hiking, etc. They don't stand around and talk. I never saw Clark and Lex DO anything together.
Standing around and talking is exactly what I do with friends. Not all guys even like sports. On top of that, Lex is several years older than Clark. They meet when Clark was like 14 and Lex college age. So the big/little brother bond they have in the early seasons makes sense.
