Hey nice video and review! In the beginning of the video, you were using what looked like plugins other than the Analog Lab....Are those plugins also included with this MIDI controller? Also, I like how the screen displays the keys that you are pressing....this would be great for music theory tutorial videos (which is what I do). Is all that functionality included with this keyboard? Thanks!
Hi. I have to buy a new midi controller. I think about Arturia KeyLab 88 MkII or Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S88. If I prefer Arturia, does it work well in kontakt as a controller? I mean faders and knobs for orchestral articulation. Thanks.
hello, the keylab is a midi controller, which means it can only control sounds on another device (like a computer, a sound module, or another keyboard that has built-in sounds). what i'm playing are the sounds that come with the keylab. but you need a computer to use it.
Thank you for showing these Do you know if any of them work on an iPad? I was thinking perhaps the piano V (not sure what it is, a vst?) as a vst in Cubasis?...
Hello, very close to getting this! Per another comment here, it plugs into usb. But can I get the sound to come out of monitors? My computer speakers are no good lol
@@ProficiencyMusic Howso? Arturia to Interface to monitors? Arturia to computer, to DAW to interface to monitors? I think that one makes most sense as I type it out actually
@@ProficiencyMusic Thank you! So, I'd have to use a software that does have those other instruments and integrate the Arturia somehow it seems. It's not impossible though right?
@@nicksomma see lol I'm new to midi but not to playing digital keyboards. My keyboard has a sound bank of a buncha instruments so I was afraid that if I got the arturia, I'd lose access to like all that stuff. but the arturia is so gorgeous, i wanted to make sure it could mimic other instruments. So yeah! Its compatible with kontakt? Then cool I'll have a cornucopia of instruments to play with :)
@@FilipeNunesOficial nope. What u want is a digital piano (like a yamaha p125 or roland fp30, I have a video with these 2) or a synthesizer (like a Yamaha mx88 or korg kross) and then you'd just need headphones to listen
@@ProficiencyMusic yeah...what i want is a piano that has many sounds but that has his own columns and his own sound I have roland fp 30 but i think it is too simple for me
if you want something with many sounds then you want a workstation or synthesizer, but you'll need to buy speakers for it. I used a set of presonus erie 3.5 monitors and/or headphones to listen.
@@ProficiencyMusic would you say its like the digital pianos? Or is it completely different from pianos digital and analog? I really want this controller but I'm afraid it's not going to feel like at least a digital piano.
@@ProficiencyMusic thank you!!! That's great news. If its anything like that I think I will be very happy. Been trying to get a comparison to something I HAVE touched lol. It's funny you make that comparison because one of those casio models were what I was on the fence about along with the keylab. Seems like i can get the midi interfaces as well as a decent digital piano experience in the keylab. MKII I'm sold!
This finally came back in stock and I just ordered it. Its my first piano. Thanks for showing what is possible with all of these sounds.
Hey how has the MKII been for you? Thinking of this as my first real piani instrument. Any drawbacks to learning from this vs say a digital piano?
Damn, the "Japanese Jazz Studio" sounds unbelievable.

yes it'll work, but i believe the kontrol would be automatic, you won't have to program anything, i may be wrong tho.....
hello, is the sounds with the keylab ? I don't know where I can listen the sounds of the keylab.

How’d you learn the piano???
Have you ever done a video on how that keyboard works with Reaper?
i meant to do keylab videos but i never got around to it, i'll do some soon

Very helpful!
Are there more than just pianos? Like could I find brass sections or violins too? Could I compose a symphony on it? Lol
pianos, e pianos, organs and synths............no strings or horns, you'd need to pair it with something else

The keylab has his own columns?
Like...i can listem to the piano without connecting to a computer?
No, it's just a controller. You need a computer, sound module, or another keyboard.

yes highly recommended, i still use it to play live

Can the keylab essential control studio one?
it can control any daw

Hi there! thanks for the nice video! Can you tell me if I need a audio interface to use this keyboard without latency on my Macbook pro 2019? :)
Well, you can record and play through USB, but to play live you should use an interface to get the sound out.
OH GOD I WISH I HAD THIS PIANO BUT I DON'T HAVE MONEY
How it feels the keybed?
It's a great keybed. Doesn't feel like a real piano, but you will feel comfortable playing anything on it.
