I've had eternabond on my RV roof seams for almost 10 years and never had any leak problems where the tape is, and still doing good. I've used dicor lap sealant for several years also and had leak issues every year or two. I have found that the only way dicor lap sealant works best is to remove all the old sealant first. But still won't last as long as the eternabond. I'm in Texas and the summer heat is brutal on anything left outside in the sun.
Prepping the roof before using any sealant is the most important part. Follow the instructions or risk doing it again sooner than necessary. Never use silicone caulking on the RV roof because nothing sticks to it.

How long did you let the lap sealant cure before putting the eterabond tape over it?

Questions: I have repaired, sanded and cleaned a vintage metal roof camper. Should I paint the entire roof first and then apply the Eternabond tape? Or should I apply the tape and then paint. Thank you!

I would say do the tape first. Tape isn't going to stick as well if you paint it first

I had the same question. I am thinking tape first and then painting over the tape like he did in the video

I used Eternabond tape on my roof in Arizona and it turned to grey dust in a year.

You obviously had the docket & complained to the manufacturer, what did they say?

Does the roof coating stick to the tape? Have you driven down the road?

Great question. I am trying to figure out if eternabond will bond to apoc 243 advanced roof coating.

@@joeroubique8939 I am using apoc’s nonsilionized roof coating to be safe. It is elastomeric roof coating (apoc 241) to be safe. But i didn’t find out any definitive info on 243

People been using Henry’s Tropicool and painting over it. Seems to do well. Maybe you just have to scuff the tape a little with sandpaper first. I thought I read somewhere that there is a paintable kind. I’ll have to see about that.

I'd never buy a used RV with so much eternabond applied. It's a red flag in my opinion. Only meant for temporary repairs, not permanent application. Good job on the rubber sealant application.
