The biggest thank you from the bottom of my heart! My ps4 controller is about 3 years old and the L3 was demolished by destiny 2. This brought it back to life IMMEDIATELY!!! Big tip to future purchases, warm up your stickers slightly with rubbing on the sheet of stickers themselves to help with pulling them off. I know some of them stuck to the paper but if it starts to happen just stop and try peeling from a different side of the circle. It works trust me! Thanks a million man!
My problem isn't the switch being pressed, it clicks every time without issue. Having trouble trying to figure out what exactly to clean to get the input to actually consistently register when the stick is clicked
@@beankensa mine too when I try to click down there's no click it's just no sound and when I push down it goes down so far into the controller whenever I try to click I literally have to twist the joystick to the left for it to actually register as a click
My problem is the bit o plastic inside the stick module snapped so when I press the stick the part that presses the tact button doesnt move at all. I don't know how this happened maybe my little brother pressed the stuck down way to hard and snapped the cheap plastic inside the module. The whole module is going tohave to be replaced if superglue wont work. The thing is is it is an elite series 2 180 dollar controller as well!!! I'm so pissed its not even 5 months old! They wanted 150 bucks for the warranty on it on top of the 180 I spent on it so I didn't get it I couldn't get I didn't have 330 bucks on me at the time!
@@vegetav5 yeah, the problem wasn’t contact with the tact button, it was the contact between the tact button and whatever it contacts to register an input. I shoved a bunch of paper in there so I push the tact button onto its contact point
@@jt4225at 5:00, when the guy uses tweezers to put stickers on the button, I did the same with paper. I can’t elaborate further because I don’t even play video games anymore
you can also use some paper and just a little of super glue, it make a stronger and durable gap filler. Just be careful, use very little, move everything constantly until the glue dries out, because you dont want the stick to actually stuck in position.
Owen Kennedy No man, I bought an Elite 2 since and LB on it broke. lol But this controller left stick still works kinda. Just don’t click. Tbh, it’s easier to buy a new one if you sure you have the same problem as me. Trust lol
@@brandeeno2846 I have the same problem. I took mine apart and figured out that the button that is inputted when pressing l3 is no longer functioning like a button. Hence, why is does not click or feel like the other analog stick. Its almost like it is working like a sensor now that functions with some pressure. I believe the best way to deal with it is to replace that little button by removing it and soldering a new one in its place lol. I am looking for another solution I will update!

Hi, I have a problem with my gen 1 elite Xbox controller. The left thumb stick is not consistent when sprinting in destiny 2. I have to push it quite hard and it’s rather distracting. Roger Picard unfortunately not, I’m guessing it could be repaired, however I would expect this to be expensive. Mine is just sat on the side now, I haven’t had to time to find out how much a repair will cost but when I do I’ll post here to give you an idea.

hey guys i find a way it might now not work for you but it did for me but i took out the joysticks you can do that step after u take apart the cover and then just blow into your left stick and it worked for me
That gray plastic stabilizer keeps falling out on my controller. Any suggestions? I replaced it with one from an old one and it fell out again immediately.
For me I have to like press L3 multiple times before it des does what its supposed to do I'll press it once sometimes it works but like to sprint I have act like my thumb is hail on it to work any suggestions btw it's a PDP controller
If you are talking about an Xbox One Controller this might help. You will have to open up your controller to do this. You don't have to remove any wires if that's what you're worried about. Just be careful when taking it apart so you dont ruin your controller.

I have a Elite gen 1 and somehow since today my controllers left stick doesn't make that clicking sound anymore when you press on it. I am going to open it up but is this problem fixable? If yes how and if no can i just pop in a regular xbox one controllers board with it's new sticks on it? I have 1 that i have for spare use. All inputs are getting registered up, down, left, right and even press so only the clicking mechanism is somehow defect.

I'm thinking that you want to purchase the individual part. I don't think that is something you'd be able to do in a practical way. If you need to replace a part, you'd probably need to by an entirely new **matching** joystick and install that (if you know how) or take the part out that you need from the new one and install it into the old one. The second approach may be more difficult than to just replace the entire joystick.

A friend got an xbox one and literally within 3 days of playing a lot of FIFA both controllers had the left thumbstick issue getting stuck in the down position and not clicking back up, causing all kinds of issues with ball not going where aimed and players running wrong direction etc. I don't use the L3 button playing fifa, but just the normal play causes it to click down on occasion and that's when the trouble starts. I would love to be able to have a quick fix to eliminate L3 all together and it would work fine for me on FIfa. Any ideas, or something simple on the outside to fix this? I thought about a rubber guard or ring of some kind to keep the stick from clicking down, but would be hard to keep the freedom of movement needed. anyways, wondering if there are third party controllers that made the sticks better so they don't break all the time.
This mans using special xbox filler sets. Me: Used literal toilet paper for series x/s RB and LB buttons overall the design is better than the old ones but that part is more fragile and breakes easier meaning the pins of the RB and LB buttons won't stay in place and press down correctly so I literally used paper to fill up the empty space. 💀. Also damn, I know they are annoying but completely disconnecting the wires seems like more of a hassle/work than not doing so. Especially considering even if you have a soldering device that's quite risky. I think you can just tape them up so they don't fall out the whole time while working on it. Anyway guess I'll see tommorow if this is the problem. I probably won't use those special filler sets if so though 😂. Either I'll stick something random in between like tape or paper. And if after taking it apart fully, cleaning it putting it back together and adding those fixes it still doesn't work I might have to buy a new one at some point. Especially considering whevever I do this there's like a 50% chance of me fixing the problem but in turn another button or trigger that stops working. Apart from the D-pad that always works never had any issues with the D-pad on any controller ever. But I think I'll succeed, these newer controllers are better overall so they tend to be easier to fix. Update: R.I.P sadly the new controllera have cable connecting the back and front board making taking it apart pretty much impossible. Update: You can just disconnect and reconnect them, *sadly* I found out this video wasn't the problem I have, because it's clicking just fine, it's just permantly sending out a pressed down signal for no reason since yesterday.
I just bought my 180 dollar elite series 2 5 months ago and the l3 button on it is already busted. I went to college for soldering though so replacing the thumbstick module is easy for me the thing is they cost 20 bucks a piece for that little square thing and the chances of getting one that is not calibrated correctly are high!
You can also use normal tape and cut it in the right size. Much cheaper and works as well :)

The tact button doesn’t do anything when pressed. I had the controller on and pushed it with a pair of tweezers and it didn’t register any input.

I’ve tried connecting my pro controller from my switch to my laptop but when I try to move the anolog sticks they don’t work
You see the problem for me is that the tack button is pushed to deep down so it doesn’t work even if I tested the tack by using a pair of tweezers

When I sprint in cod I have to hold it down to work and only works for a few seconds
I have the opposite of your problem, Mine is stuck down but presses when I look down with the joystick

My white part snapped, like where you were putting the pads the part that pushes down on the button broke. Any tips on how to fix it?
