There has already been plenty of experiments on sleep deprivation to know what happens when depriving one of sleep. Cognitive decline, mania, depression, hunger, anxiety, generalized weakness, loss of inhibition, ultimately leading to delirium, hallucinosis, involuntary loss of consciousness, encephalitis and possibly even brain damage.
Right? I remember learning about various cases in flipping Psych 101, and yet this guy is supposed to be trained in the field. Sure, Jan.

Bear with me here:I think the reason why the MC wasn't being affected in the same way as Josh is poetically interesting.
It's because his inner demons had already been unleashed. There was nothing to let loose, since he'd already embraced his dark side by kidnapping Josh, torturing him, and engaging his own desires.
Or you know he's just a sociopath and the RSE was fake the whole time and he couldn't realise that.
Both frightening in their own ways.
I think it could be because he wasn’t restrained like Josh. He knew deep down that he wasn’t the one being held hostage.

You could just find a case study following an individual with fatal familial insomnia (FFI) and you would be able to yield the same results. 3. The mind doesn't "deteriorate," from lack of sleep, it dies. Meaning you fry your circuits before going insane and drop dead of exhaustion.

Can we please get more of these?! These older creepypastas had a feel to them that really made them eerie, these newer ones are good storywise most of the time, but they lack that creepy factor. Could Be just me tho

I got really obsessed with me trying to recreate the russian sleep experiment" was too many characters for a title.
I watched the original russian sleep experiment for the first time today. I guess you could say i've been SLEEPING on it...no? Okay i'll stop lol 😂👌😂
I love MCP's narration as always, especially how he gradually sounds more and more exhausted and depraved as the story goes on.
What I *hate* about this story is that the disastrous end to the experiment could have easily been avoided if the main character had actually thought through any of it ahead of time. The ending isn't the "poetic," inevitable failure that the author probably intended. It's just a failed scientist killing a man by accident because he's a dumb dumb.

I had a talk not long ago with my tutor about the Holocaust. I asked him if he thought I couldn’t survived if I was in that situation. He said that he didn’t think anyone could survive. Human are not meant to be in survival mode. While agreeable, it’s still a miracle that anyone were able to walk out of those camps alive... it was truly a human tragedy... and as well as unjust...
He forgot the biggest part of the experiment: They were given newspapers and books to give them attention stimulants. Such stimulants could’ve kept him awake naturally for longer

You can go roughly 11 days without sleep before it kills you. Interestingly if you fall asleep on the 11th day you can recover with no side effects from your ordeal
I've done 10 before.....once. Had hallucinations both auditory and visual. Had one hell of a headache. Went down for a one hour nap on Friday at 1300 and was woken up at 1700 on Sunday by my roommate who thought I had died. Ah the joys of being in the military.

That's funny I think the very first Creepypasta I ever heard was the Russian sleep experiment at the time I didn't know whether it was real or fake it's still kind of iffy for me honestly I don't remember who narrated it back then I just remember I was horrified and then later down the road I found out that it was a creepypasta but I remember that line I'm what lies inside of all of you it kept me up for a night or two I ain't going to lie LOL
