Absolutely amazing job, you're a top pastry chef Wendy, you couldn't buy a gala pie as good as that, great team work, how did you boil your eggs Graham,I use the 555 method in the Instant Pot,5 mins cooking 5 mins natural release and 5 mins in really cold water,I tap the egg top and bottom on the work surface and roll it back and forth under my hand till you hear the shell crunching away, dont press too hard, and they peal so easily under cold running water, great video start to finish guys,I love Gala Pie and that was brilliant 👍 nice to see you keeping me in a job and using Morrisons 😂
Hi Richard, Wendy boiled and shelled the eggs while I was filming the start. The way you did it sounds great we will have to try it. I have got a little egg cooker that does a great job as well. We were really happy how the gala pies turned out and they tasted fantastic. 👍👋👋👋hi Carol.
Oh my goodness, that looked so delicious, I haven't seen the old veal, ham and egg pie as we used to call it in years. I wouldn't mind having a go at making one of those myself. I see knorr do a ham stock cube, I'm wondering what it would be like using one of those, instead of chicken stock cubes. I could certainly have sat down to a slice of that pie, with a chunk of very sharp cheese and some branston pickle. What a fantastic job you made of it, very professional. 💯✋💕👍💐
Hi Rosemary, we would have loved to share it with you and Phillip. Wendy worked hard to make it as good as it was and I think it showed. We didn’t know about the ham stock cubes. Thank you ❤️🥰😍😘👌 hi Phillip 👋👋👋👋👍
Hi Graham and Wendy, the pie was outstanding. Wendy you've done an eggcellent job. Well done you should be proud of yourself. Graham don't worry John's a dribbler as well. LOL
Hi Sandra, you’ve been binge watching our videos. That’s good you should be relaxing with your feet up. We are your feel a little better every day 🤞👏👏👏😍🥰❤️😘
Hi Graeme and Wendy thank you for doing this great video you both made it look so easy especially in the HYSapientia I don’t think it would have come out as good in my instant pot air fryer. Keep the videos coming you are both better than the to. Just wish my husband would be as adventurous as you Graeme in the kitchen you both remind me of my mum and dad happy times ❤take care Julie
Congratulations Graham&Wendy, those pork pies look fit for a king. Nothing seems to faze you. Looks like Gala pie for quite a few meals now! Well done Dave & Max.
This looks amazing!! I love how you guys are so down-to-earth about the whole thing 😂 Can't believe you got in an argument about how to fill it with the jelly 🤣 Definitely trying this recipe, looks like a fun weekend cooking project!

Hi Jo, I can’t really explain how good it was. Wendy worked hard to get it right and I think she did. The pastry was so good and the secret spice mix. 😍🥰❤️😘👌
Great effort , we always used to call it Veal , ham and egg pie , I think Veal is considered unnecessary nowdays by many people , I used to like jellied Veal sandwiches.
Hi Ken, hope you’re well. These pies were really good and the pastry was just right. Veal fell out of favour years ago. Not sure about the sandwiches Ken 🤷♂️🙀
.Hi Graham and Wendy, beautiful pies , do you think you could have cooked both pies at same time, and next question, can they be frozen? Love watching you delightful and tasty cooking.xx
Hi Eileen, we cooked one pie at a time as we didn’t know how long it would take in the air fryer oven. We could have cooked both together now we know as they would fit. We did freeze one but the pastry wasn’t as good as the fresh one. It was still tasty though. Next time we might make just one 🥰😍❤️😘👍
Hiya Graham have you ever had a Christmas 'Celebration Pie' when I worked at Asda we sold this special pie with the other Christmas specials it was about 1 pound in weight was three quarters filled with pork just like a normal pork pie, but, then there was a layer of cooked turkey and to top it off sitting within the top edge of the crust was...cranberries in juice/syrup tasty 😇
well graham and wendy ,what a tutorial, thosegala pies look fantastic, you both have some patience with your cooking. how long did you dehydrate the bread for before you bashed it to bits and did you get the seasoning from the internet or was it your own mix. pete now wants some and i know there wont be much left after you and wendy have enjoyed it , so i,ll have to have a go at it , all our family love gala pie ,we had it at all our parties although we all called it winky pie and that caused some confusion when we went to the shop to buy it. your pie is so much better than the shop bought one as your egg is in every slice you cut whereas there were some slices with just the meat in when bought from the shop, petes given you a gold star for this one , love to you both well done wendyxxx
Hi Grace, this was a big deal for us I don’t think we will ever do anything better. I always thought our lemon meringue was the best thing we made but now I’m not sure. We’re not sure how long the bread took because we did it until we thought it was ok, Wendy thinks less than half an hour. I’m sure I put the spice mix in the description. It’s the same mix as our pork pie. We would gladly have shared some with you and Pete. We took some to my aunt in the home and said it was lovely. Mind you she would tell Wendy anything else 😂😂😂😂😍🥰❤️😘👍. Love to you and Pete.xxx
