@38:00... "PAPER CHARTS!!!" Hello??? You're not a kid, I'm sure you remember "paper" unless you set them on fire... They will ALWAYS be powered up and never crash!!! ALWAYS HAVE A PAPER BACK UP!
I may be picking a bit here a bit about the charts... But all in all, I have really enjoyed your videos, Very detailed. I think all who have watched your videos have learned something from you. It's been quite an experience to follow.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share it with us.

You are not incorrect and I did have a paper chart on that voyage that covered the area I was sailing. Check out Min 10:50 where I give a detailed explanation of how paper and e charts work together on a small boat. ua-cam.com/video/eWnhYMKIA6Q/v-deo.html

I also finely this so relaxing I could fall asleep to it, but very entertaining, encouraging, & insightful as well. I'll soon be 22, & by my 25th I hope to have a Wave Rover 650 & sail to the Caribbean. Hope you make it out there too, Mike! Just have to get organized & set your mind to it. Nothing to it but to work hard & do it.

Knock over is a heck of a thing to deal with at midnight. Good thing you were able to sort it out. Interesting how much wind there is at night there. I learned a bit about weather to paraglide but, everything we deal with is coastal or inland where winds usually shut down at dusk.
Maybe a solid steel or aluminum backing on the solar panel would have kept it from bending and breaking around the mounts.

    Cap'n Alan's Sea Worthy Ingredients (41:11):
    1) 42:39 Rice
    2) 44:18 Vaseline covered eggs (which lasted 3 months, roughly half of which was in the tropics)
    3) 45:56 Quality sardines (in water or olive oil, not highly synthesized "vegetable" oils [¿DIY?]
    4) 47:37 Nutritional [Brewsr's] Yeast (contains B vitamins )
    5) 48:28 Soy/ Hot sauce (¿alternatives?)
43:16 Don't forget a sea worthy cooking set up!

For example do you sleep short catnaps all day 20 mins catnaps 40 mins on watch or do you sleep for hours at a time whilst sailing away from shipping lanes .
I along with other sailors planning long voyages like you do will appreciate your experience.

Know how to repair everything on the fly or at least have a general idea of how to go about it. Tell yourself that many have done this before and you can also. Boiling point of liquid is elevated by impurities so, adding salt to water makes it boil at a higher temperature. Although it will take longer to boil, salty water will boil at a higher temperature, thus cooking faster. No matter how much heat you apply, the temperature of the water will not raise above the boiling point.
