Beautiful video. I'm from Africa and children here at 8 years of age can cook a meal for 10 people. Children here are so independent. It's good that Montessori can help children in those areas out there.
@@svideos5754 so true! I think it already is available to all… it’s more about the Montessori mindset, it’s more of a way of being, the concepts are available to all. It’s not just about fancy toys. The awareness of self, independence, and purposeful language doesn’t cost anything…. It’s a choice.
I went to traditional school, but the teachers who stood out in my life and left an impact were the teachers who thought outside of the traditional box. One experience of that is my art teacher. My art teacher and the class left the school walking to paint a mural on the library wall. One of the lessons it taught me was how important it is to contribute to your community.
Thank you for this amazing video. We are currently trying to start up a Montessori Public School in Aruba and have to unfortunately deal with the Pandemic in our fist pilot year. This is just the motivation that we need. Will be showing this to the team of teachers and parents.
i've been working late at night these past 2 weeks. so i think all together ive been listening to maybe 70-80% of your podcasts while doing work at night bcs i just found out abt this podcast >.< i learn a lot, and i love every content in every episode. i've known montessori method when my child is still an infant but didnt apply it right away, now my daughter is 2yo. i've been applying montessori method since she's 1year plus, it has been great and i leaarnnn so many things along the way especially to better myself as a parent. and it's very true, we have to read a lot, like A LOT. with podcast like this i actually benefit a lot from it, with so many perspective from different prominent guests really open my eyes that to make it montessori it doesnt necessarily one way, it can be delivered in many ways too depending on the uniqueness of our kids. thank you for brighting up my days. i'm looking forward for more contents like this. thanks Jesse. I am just starting to learn about montessori and am loving it! I live close to Wichita so I think it's awesome you live there 😁. I run a daycare and am hoping to integrate into montessori learning.
How can a poor child get a "rich" Montessori education when a Montessori school is around $15,000 per year? I'm middle class and can't even afford that.
when I started taking my young grandchildren to the local Montessori school and spending some time there volunteering I discovered that I should have been a Montessori teacher. Maybe next time.
Be careful if you put your baby there temporary until 5-6 yrs then when is old enough to start school to put him in traditional school as i saw it messed up kids a lot. Some parents want to continue with mon. School but when they find cost they give up
Well, to be able to realistically compare if Montessori works, it would have to be comparable. Parents who can afford it are of higher SES, having above-average education themselves, having better jobs, less social problems, safer neighborhood, and most probably higher IQ in their genes to start with, compared with average comparable population. Also, a kid in such environment will be surrounded by talented kids more and by problematics kids less (only because the parents are rich). This is not a results of a Montessori system. Second, It would be comparable only with schools where teachers are paid the same, and where there is same few kids per class. Unfortunately most of the comparative studies come from the US, where any education is disastrous, and the public one is pure Hiroshima. Want to see pros and cons - compare academic results of students on universities or when applying for jobs (coz that's where education matters) after Montessori, and after a classic school of similar monthly cost. Or maybe even better - ask some Hiring HR/Personalist/Headhunter what is his experience with applicants with Montessori education, on average. Third - I do not like abundance of competitiveness, but I was in a very hard school, and I wanted to be better than other kids, I wanted good grades, I was given tasks and workload surely bigger and more difficult I would have ever asked for myself as a kid, but the drill worked. Take a look at sports - no elite athlete was ever trained only on the basis of complete voluntariness. The harder the coach or teacher is, the better results are. Also, kids have to get used to do tasks they do not enjoy that much, because that's ow life is.
I don’t know.. I kinda want my 5 year old to learn his colors, numbers, letters. I really don’t care if he can go down town on the sub way. I kinda want my to have high SATs, take AP classes, maybe take trig in high school. Starting freshman year knowing how to fold laundry, but possibly being illiterate, or not being knowing your times table. Seem sad. But i guess that world theses days.
Montessori has failed my children and it is ruined by my ex in laws. All have needed extra help to l teach them to acclimate to real school. They did not get taught. The Montessori teachers have only a certificate in Montessori and a high school degree! I loathe Montessori’s teaching method
Why should they??????? I'm an English teacher and have been teaching English for 30 years. I'm bilingual( born in Australia) and so are my two children 11 & 14 . We live in Greece. They have been listening to both languages(Greek & English) since they were born. I NEVER explained anything regarding grammar and when the time came, they were able to understand grammatical phenomena effortlessly!!! I've been teaching my students the same way and they have the highest scores in both Vocabulary & Grammar!!!!!
Montessori is good because it prepares you to become a billionaire oligarch who doesn’t pay his taxes and mistreats his workers. Not a good recommendation. I hope not.

Montessori is awesome! Now make it more accessible to all!
That’s not how capitalism works unfortunately
It can easily be. Not everything needs to be purchased use what you already have at your disposal
It would have been if it wasn’t for John Dewey who basically attacked the Montessori method making it scarce in the US

Are there any affordable montessori schools?
Very informative!
Aw my sister goes to the school he is speaking at :) it’s an absolutely incredible school
Montessori idea is totally come from God Jesus who is the creater of the world . It's extremely amazing education idea.
"I thought it was trill"🤣
Dang, my baby is 10 months old, I want to find a Montessori school just like this with quality teachers.
Know of any near Venice, Florida??
I agree, my family loves Montessori. We have even more fun Learning about Jesus Christ.
Yes Montessori learning is the best
❤❤
My parents should’ve put me in a Montessori school
It needs to be affordable, more or less similar situation in India and then how they talk about changing the world and workplace with Montessori.
Unfortunately, not affordable at $1400 a month!!
My God. That expensive?
Only 1400 a month? Guess how much they charge in NYC?
NYC! 😱 I imagine just like everything else, insanely expensive. We decided to homeschool using Montessori methods.
