•Enjoy the montage at the conclusion of the show highlighting a variety of other patriots who have contributed to this nation.
It shocked me when President Lincoln stood up when I saw this a few months back. Just imagine how people in the 60's felt. Amazing.
And the loud, ghostly music that plays when he's introduced? Astonishing!
I saw this in 1965 at the World's Fair. I was 7 years old and was astonished. A life-changing experience.
I swear, as many times as I've seen this show, it still makes me run through the full range of emotions.
fun fact: my grandparents told me they actually sat behind Walt Disney when they saw this. I think Disney asked them how it was and my grandpa got to shake his hand. I think that's pretty wild
I saw this when I was 12 years old, and nothing had ever made feel as patriotic or proud to be American. Unfortunately, that is a feeling I haven't had in a very long time.
1966 I was 12 yrs. old, family vacation, I remember this so clearly, it really made an impression on me and at 63 yrs. old it still does. Thanks so much for posting this.
Barb Chester god bless you and your memory. One of the greatest accomplishments of one of the greatest Americans, Walt.
They should do the same thing with Walt Disney
Why the hell haven’t they done that? That’d be fantastic.
This made me laugh but yes, they should!!
Agree !!!
If that happened, I'm sure there's gonna be a ton of Jew jokes.
Except everything that Walt stood for is the opposite of what happens with the company now, so everything he would say would be against all the new policies and reality of the Disney Corporation. That's why they CAN'T do it. Walt Disney is dead and so is his Disneyland and Disney film company. It's all Iger all the time now.
The voice of the great character actor Royal Dano lives on. I saw this at Disneyland in 1998 and again in 2017. Thank you Disney.
One of the greatest people in history,we need more people like Honest Abe in office.
Or Theodore Roosevelt.
pytko3 or John F Kennedy
Logan Hancock Obama is close
Or George Washington
Or Ronald Reagan.
Gives me chills every single time I see it. God Bless America 🇺🇸 🙏 ❤
I think every child should this. I know several people that have never seen Lincoln. It is obvious that this attraction was not an E ticket. I enjoyed every moment of it as a child. My children see it every visit. A great tribute to a great man!
this isnt a boring history lesson that everyone says it is. it is a great and magnificent tribute to a wonderful president. it is a definite must when i go to disneyland next.
Its sort of like a really really really really really really really really REALLY small version of the hall of presidents. but just as good.
I'm just now noticing that when he says Europe, Asia, and Africa he looks at the globe and motions to the continents he's talking about
Two words- one name: R O Y A L D A N O ! ! ! Thank you, Walt Disney Co. for restoring the ORIGINAL soundtrack to this classic attraction!
You just answered my question. I always thought it was him. Thanks.
I saw this over 30 years ago and he hasn't aged a day.
I don't care how old I am, I have always loved this attraction till this day.
The show always impress me. I love how they made Mr. Lincoln look and move so real....
One of my favourite memories from visiting Disneyland for my first time in 1982 as a kid - made quite an impression on this Aussie. Hope to see it again next year - my son will be the age I was when I saw it!
I went here and I treasured every second of the time that I spent with Mr. Lincoln fake or not.
How many people besides me recognize the film narrator as Paul Frees, the ghost host of the Haunted Mansion?
+Holobrine And several other voice acting roles.
Holobrine he also did Professor Ludwig van Drake
*raises hand*
He also was the narrator on the Adventure Through Inner Space
And still (even with all the changes) most of the voices in The Pirates of the Caribbean.
Yeah... I am a huge fan/collector of Paul's work.
The technology was built in 1960s, but still live today.
America the Beautiful, my third grade teacher had us sing this song every morning after the pledge of allegiance. I am so grateful for her as she installed my pride and love for our country 🇺🇸🙏🏼♥️
I may have seen America 4 times but I will return again for this
"Be excellent to each other. And... PARTY ON, DUDES!" ~ Abraham Lincoln
Yes. Mr.Lincoln still speaks at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. You can still show your kids when you visit the park. :)
Of all the special attractions at Disneyland, this one impressed me the most.
I saw this show in July 1976 when I was eleven years old and it made a big impression that has stayed with me !!!
That momentary applause was so nice!
I want him to walk so badly..
Piotr Tarasov Me too.
Go see the new Studio C parody of the attraction. You might change your mind.
I don’t think that’s how it works.
Happy Independence Day! I came here just for today. Still riveting even all these years later.
And now we find ourselves facing that danger within, calling us to decide our fate, trusting that God will steel our resolve as freedom loving people and patriots.
I agree.
Which particular danger would that be?
pytko3 its probably his danger at his home.
god, dangers, fate, freedom - sounds like propaganda.
I know there is a God and HE hates injustice and slavery,
I see the storm coming,
I know HIS hand is in it
if he has a place to work for me
and i think he has
Kim Bengard I don’t know about slavery the Bible fully condones slavery as long as certain rules are followed
you forgot....without union, the Constitution is just a piece of paper
Saw the show yesterday and I found a new appreciation for Honest Abe, and I'm sad that so many people skip right pass the attraction
I was there for the very first and last time ever and the moment Animatronic Lincoln stood up, I laughed so hard, it was an uncontrollable laughter and everyone heard it, and suffice to say I had to scoot out of the theater as quickly as possible as soon as it ends.
When I first saw this at Disneyland as a child I was in complete awe. I still have President Lincolns portrait on my wall.
This show never gets old. It really is a sin people skip by it or don't recognize it on their way to E-ticket attractions.
i loved this intro
Saw the show a few weeks ago and it was amazing! I almost cried at the end when I heard The Battle Hymn of The Republic. And I'm not even American! Greetings from Austria/ Europe.
THIS is what America should represent. Bra-fucking-vo.
what does fucking have to do with it?
Damn, that animatronic is actually pretty realistic. From far away, you could believe that it was actually him.
I saw the show in its original form. It changed me.
Lincoln had that effect on people.
Thank you for keeping this. This Americas values.
The Great Actor Royal Dano did Lincolns voice. I remember as a kid I memorized the Speech and can still remember it.
Peter Renaday (Master Splinter -TMNT 86) plays Abraham Lincoln in the Hall of Presidents in Florida.
I'm huge fan of Abraham Lincoln.
Thanks
so glad they brought back this version of the show (because by doing that they brought back the 2 brothers segment)
How on earth dose he stand up like that? Truly amazing
Working on my Lincoln costume for Halloween. This is great footage to use as references for the beard, hair, clothes, everything
The voice of Lincoln sounds better than the one in Disney world
Absolutely astounding. I remember seeing this as a kid, and getting chills down my spine when Lincoln stood up. Very lifelike. But his mouth is slightly out of sync at the beginning of his speech (just after he stands up). The sentence ends, but his mouth keeps moving for a few seconds. Nonetheless, it is STILL amazing and this video is the next best thing to seeing it in person.
As a Canadian i've seen this attraction twice, Lincolns words are very prophetic I never realized how loud and annoying the background music is, lincolns speech doesn't need this dramatic music his words are enough.
Wish the film "Lincoln" had this rich vocal tone!!!
I loved the hallway when the show ended. They had many famous people in U.S. history that made a difference. Each of them were represented by category. One was "Spirit of Entertainment," and Michael Jackson was one of them! He was a contributor to Disney during the 80s.
John Wilkes Booth: flips over a table “AAAGGGHHH!!!”
I remembered that I saw this show when travelling to USA.
THIs WAS THE BEST THING ABOUT DISNEYLAND!! Thanks for sharing!!
An awesome show that is still there, just saw it last week.
It's still there. I just saw it a couple of hours ago. lol
I went lst summer, I think everyone in the room was scared at how realistic this is
Thank you!
This guy gets it, this guy gets it, im just saying what were all thinking
This Is The Greatest Attraction By Far! 💯✝️🇺🇸💕🌈🙏By Far
I had a dream about this. I had no idea it was a real thing!
I went to Disneyland in the States for the first time in 1996, and I was truly impressed by this ❤❤❤
Reminds me of the good times
I go and watch that every time I go to Disneyland Resort every year.
This is a much more meaningful presentation than what they're doing today. No matter how great the Gettysburg Address is I found it boring. And the words spoken here are more powerful and unfortunately coming to pass as our country is being torn apart from within by those who desire to take our rights away and seek a more socialistic and communistic form of government.
With how many times I've been to Disneyland I have never seen this show. I always wanted to. I guess now my daughter is older it would be worth one more trip.
It is so nice to hear Paul Frees and Royal Dano again! Even some of the original scoring!
thanks mr Lincoln
I saw this last time i went and the first cannon shot in the fort sumter scene made me jump it startled me in other
words
WOW! Thanks so much for sharing this! I thought that I would never get to see it, again! Nice improvements, on the movement & all, BUT...I just figured out why the "illusion" was never complete (for me, anyway!)... He never breathes! If he were to sigh, or even just inhale/exhale during this speech, it would be...PERFECT!
Really late response but he does actually sigh at 10:48 pretty awesome detail.
This is better than the one they have now.
He looks so real..!
Yes, it is. He has come a long way!
Now that I'm older, I really want to go back to Disneyland to see all these kinds of attractions. Hall of Presidents, Jungle Cruise, the Riverboat, etc. I feel like you appreciate all the animatronic stuff much more as an adult.
My God America, what happened?
Half the country took what he said about dying by suicide and tearing up the Constitution and they are running with it.
I really do admire this attraction even though I have never been to Disneyland a day in my life. It has been my wish to go there and see this because from some people who've been to Disneyland and did this attraction, they said it was educational, entertaining, and some have said it's better than the Hall of Presidents
First, you gotta love the narration of Paul Frees in the beginning, second, 9:45 - 9:55 . Holy junk. Animatronics are basically magic today.
Saw this for the first time this week. How have i never seen this. I loved it
I believe it is called "Two Brothers" from what I hear it is a song from the late 1800's.
I have always loved this attraction even as a kid. I always made sure we di not leave the park until we saw this.
All the patriotic feels!
GO ABARHAM!!!
Two Brothers" (lyrics and music by Irving Gordon, vocals by Ali Olmo)
Never, highly doubtful. Since moving to Disneyland from the '64 World's Fair, the show has been relatively unchanged and Royal Dano has become the gold standard for Lincoln's voice. The brief period when the show was changed to "Gettysburg" raised enough protest and nostalgia to revert it back to the original version Walt intended it to be.
Thanks so much for posting this.
Animatronics would be a great concept in replacing those arrogant MTA booth workers, bus drivers & the employess of DMV!
"Prepare to do your duty, by standing in the yellow square and staring at the camera sir." -Abraham Lincoln
What a great tribute to a great man who honours God with all his life, committing himself to the cause of liberty for all people, just as the Lord desires! I praise God that Mr. Lincoln is such a great testimony and inspiration for all freedom-loving people in this world and I thank God that He kept Abe alive in the hearts and minds of many, for generations to come! What a tribute! What a life story! This show should continue forever - pursuing and preserving freedom for the good of all Mankind!
its gone now. I remember is well. keep it up here! so i can show my kids? thanks cool!
Amazing improvements.
Glad they kept the attraction.
at the end i always have a tear in my eye
this is one ride i really want to go on when i got to disneyland next, but i dont think my friends are all for the idea
Serious question: Since the film "Lincoln" was distributed by Disney, will Daniel Day-Lewis' voice and John Williams' music replace the classic soundtrack in a future 'Great Moments' show?
Ive still never seen this
It’s crazy how realistic his movements are
This was at the 1964 worlds fair in ny then they moved it back to Disney
@Tim Alcoser My mom and I agree with you 100%! We both don't like that her picture is up there, and we think it should be taken down. Perhaps we could make a petition about it?
Oh, man, when I saw that picture there for the first time my friend and I literally booed it. Disgusting. Otherwise, love this.
Who did Lincolns voice? sounds like Royal Dano.
It is royal dano, the grandfather of actor hutch dano
in todays political climate this is tragic to watch.
and i wanted to set the miley cyrus picture on fire!!!!!!!!
Christ if only this comment knew

Good question! It's entirely possible. "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" is Walt Disney's baby, its up to the GMWML fans to remind the Disney Corp to keep it as Walt created it.
