I know everything because I own a Ford Ranger. I'm also better than everyone. However, you have single handedly proven me otherwise and you own a DMax. I cannot thank you enough for your wisdom in this area (vibrating phone mounts). I've concluded that you either have owned a Ford Ranger or you will intend to do so. Either way, keep up the good work my wise compadre. 5 stars 👏
Did this same mod earlier this after copying your last video for the mount itself. I run the cable back through the A pillar by using 2 x right angle type C adapters to have the USB cable run alongside the mount rather than straight down. Thanks for the hack, one of my favorite mods on my MU-X.
That's what I'm planning on doing and was wondering if it would work. Personal hate of mine is having cables running all over the dash. The moor hidden the better for me haha
I been using your idea ever since i bought the car 4k ago. Its hands down the best mount solution I have ever seen. I just put a USB plug in the other side and plug it up rather than going from original spot for the iphone. I dont mind this idea, i have been caught out forgetting to unplug THEN disconnect a few times. This looks the goods for an update cheers Adam.
I picked myself up a 2023 D-max and I highly recommend the Quad Lock window mount was sceptical about it falling off 3 months in and constantly parking in the Sun for work. Still no dramas. Hope this helps
Nice one Adam I will be installing anew usb socket. I have a mount that I brought from jb which fits in the vents with a spring-to hold it in place. Has worked great with no problems when we did the Simpson a few months ago.
Love it Adam, glad it worked out! I still haven’t gotten around to getting one of these for mine since I told you about them, this has motivated me too though. Also how good is having the stedi power point there 💪🏽
Hey Adam, I also used the quad lock wireless charging head and used one of Quadlock’s multi angle brackets and mounded my phone to the left of my head unit, I ran my charging cable behind the head unit facia to keep it neat. I had is originally located near where you mounted your bit found that my phone (iPhone) got really hot and sometimes the screen froze, so where it is now is just below my air vent and out of the sun. I drive a Mitsubishi Triton MR GSR 2021, had it for a while, no phone rattles and awesome product.
I have to swap over to using the RAM mount. (Still using the quad lock windscreen suction cup). But I used the quad lock motorbike power module and ran cable up the side so it pops out at top of the door.
Watched it twice now for the wiring. Awesome . Never enough usb points in the right places. The stedi link for the dual usb plug is for a different item. I’ll try again on computer tomorrow. And piggy back fuse link? If it’s in the spotlight install I’ll find it tomorrow.
No it's the right link, the listing is just a bit weird, you have to go customise then it gives you a full list including the one I have in the video. Will update with the add a fuse 👍
I saw the original post and like the way you have cobbled a few bits to come up with an awesome solution. My only worry is how much it blocks my view. Any chance of a first person viewpoint? I'm 6'3" if that helps getting a focal point.
I have it mounted so it sits in front of the a pillar from my pov so don't really lose any vision. It's great cause it's all adjustable to get it exactly where you want 👍
100% doing this when my LSU comes in December. I know you are using an aftermarket headunit but did you ever try an android auto wireless adaptor? Looking into them for when mine comes
@@VideoShowMeHow haha same, just picked up a Pixel 8 Pro after my 4XL stopped charging. I believe wireless charging should work with maglock - will leave another comment when I get it sorted!
Hi Adam, I’m loving your videos as I just received my Dmax. Did you use two ‘add a fuse’ for the dual USB or just connect the two red wires to the single fuse?
Are you still using the Trac Electronics AT2 Dual Camera? I might be watching the build video's in the wrong order but it looked like it was taken out? Reason I ask is I was looking to buy one.
I own a 24 xterrain, relised that they have change a fair few things from previous models, has anyone with a 24 dmax know that this mod can be done, as the ocam struts state 21+ yet the thread size has changed
I been using the quad lock wireless charger for a while now. I found out the charging speed is very slow and it overheat my iPhone 15 a lot. When driving under the sun, the phone will shut down due to overheating. Anyone had similar issues?
Hi Adam can you share the link where we can get the parts please this would work great in my tow truck and 4x4 because like you can’t find anything any good
Hey mate, what are you using for your dash illumination feed? Are you still using that one wire from the spare unused plug and just have your spottys and now the USB spliced off/into it? Cheers.
@@VideoShowMeHow yeah that's true, I'm always using maps. Thanks for the video and idea anyway. For now I'm back on the wires Android Auto just to charge it!
Well the fuse to protect the circuit, will no doubt be 10amp auto wire so that would be fine. Normally fast charge USB sockets draw 2.4 amp max so even with two of those you would be fine with a 5amp fuse. With usb, the only time you going to get more than that is when it goes to a PD style charge where you're getting up to 100 watts
@@jeffreyallen130 hey mate. When you changed to the 5A fuse, any difference in charging? I'm installing one of these over the weekend, and am wiring both USB plugs into the one add-a-fuse. Was going to go 10A for safety. Did you see any appreciable difference?

They have a new version out which is apparently better in the sun, will try at some stage for sure 👍
I just built the whole bracket for the BT50, absolutely love it. Daughters Triton is next. I've got a pic but can't upload it.

Hey Adam what was the eBay site for the switch? And the blue wire where did it connect to again? Please. Thanks
Just linked it up :) Blue wire uses standard dash light wire (is the brown wire in the dmax/bt, more info in the supernova spotties guide)
Thanks
Adam, what is that tub rack you have going I'm looking for one for my Dmax?, just ordered the same parts for my phone so bug thank you for this video
Testing out one I found online, sits up higher for more space and attachments 😀 Prob do a bit.of a vid on it at some stage
G'day Adam, I'm absolutely hanging for the Alpine Halo 11 install video. Any idea how far away it is?

Yep used an add a fuse with both red wires

Also have u done any installation on caddy van

No am not only because I've replaced both front rear cameras with the Alpine cameras and they integrate within the halo head unit that I'm running

Hey Adam have you released the new head unit video?
Could you please give me the electrical diagram of the isuzu dmax reverse cam?
The only thing stopping me from this phone mount was having to plug it in, the wireless Android auto in that head unit sounds too good to be true 😂
Yeah mate works a treat! 👌
Hi Adam, how do you find the update on the corrugated roads? Because it looks like the blue part isn’t on the update. Cheers Jeff
Yep works fine, still the same locking mechanism 👍
Thanks Adam

Yeah sure can (I use also 😂) I've just got the holder arm over and down to the left a bit more usually that what was in the vid
