I remember when I was about 15 years old and my dad had a buddy of his who had an old Farmall 340 row cropper and he offered it to dad and we drove 2 hours to go look at it and there it was in all its glory in a barn and the man started it up and dad told me to get up on it and drive it around…he asked if I liked and I told him “pay the man!”…and he did!…we enjoyed that old tractor for many years and I spent the majority of my teens and early 20’s on that tractor!..my dad is 90 now and still doing well and he still talks about that old tractor fondly and how well it pulled…good memories!!
Not just a good story but a moving story, priceless memory for him, and probably his dad. I ran a 915 here in SW La in rice and soybean fields. A very good combine. Great story and video
Reminds me of my dad call me want to know what I was doing the next day where I was going iron the small trucking company some days I had to drive and I would tell him I said I'm headed up to Charlottesville Virginia Trump Virginia Beach I had a Lumber Company that did a lot of work for exporting hardwood lumber overseas my dad would be at my house 4:30 in the morning we getting the pickup truck and go to where I had my truck parked at and helping get up in the cab I love to sit over there and ride he had a stroke about two years later but I had such a good time with him riding with me some days
We ran 3 of these for years. 8 row corn heads, 24’ platforms. Actually had very little trouble with them. Had the flogrip 67x34x30 drive tires, would beat you up going down the road. Eventually 1 got traded on a 1480, was a year later the other two went. The ones we run nowadays are monsters, but the 915’s seemed pretty big to me back then.
I remember the 915 when the first arrived at the dealership. We looked at it and thought there will never be a bigger combine ! At the time it was a monster.
I had a wore out 915 and could harvest for an hour and mechanic for eight...what a nightmare that thing was! Used it 2 years and traded it for a L Gleaner, wow what a difference, check oil, grease and hammer down till late at night and no skint knuckles

Very nice. John was a big help when we did the F12 restoration last year.

15's are still really sharp-looking bines!
The front tires are mounted backwards. Did anyone else notice that? The lugs are facing the wrong way for traction.
Miss my 915 corn soybean great machine
macho combine my neibour had one 4 wheel drive sam

Do you still have that combine?
Eric
