Please stop lumping together Pacific Islanders with Asian Americans. These are two separate pan-ethnic groups Pacific Islanders are the indigenous peoples of Oceania NOT ASIA! Doing this is an erasure of indigenous people and it makes absolutely NO SENSE! We have been telling you for decades to stop doing this! In the 90s thousands of signatures were submitted in support of stopping this ( lumping Asians with Pacific Islanders) and was officially separated in the following census ( see OMB directive 1997)
