Crazy, for years I’ve always lacked this (somewhat). Didn’t know it was this simple.
Thanks for being awesome, Cableguys
Happy to help! 👊
He may have serial killer glasses, but you know your gonna die listening to the best mix possible being sidechained up and beat-en down. Top advice, guv'nah!!

Nice advice, and respect for showing products from the competition :)
Thanks… but we also make Kickstart! 🙈
@@Cableguys Ahah I feel stupid here, I never realized this :)

Solid 🪨
thanks
You're welcome!
So noise gate ducking side chain for basses and lower frequencies, and side chain compression for higher frequencies?
how did you make that bass🔥 tutorial pls? and what kind of bass is it?
Before I learned how to properly sidechain i threw kickstart onto everyyyy mfffff trackkkk😂😂😂
I have a question, i recently downloaded Volume shaper 3 for sidechainning with midi in fl studio. Tho each time i export my projet and i used this midi sidechaine method, the latency causes the whole Audio export to decay, but the sidechaine still hits in cync, so it hits too early right before each drums. Do you have a solution or it is a problem with my DAW?

For later.✌️
Maybe music making isn’t for me
Bc no matter what, I literally can’t tell a difference in any before or after you’ve posted.

@@austinschmidt8228probably. i would recommend using headphones
@@austinschmidt8228 You just need better headphones
Shaperbox is $100 mate. I’ll stick with Ableton’s stock plug-ins
I tried this at the gym, and I did NOT get the "perfect pump". Thumbs down.
The single worst effect to infest music this century.
Insufferable yomping of high frequencies to artificially create an urge to jump, bounce or dance, in the absence of real funk and good music.
Yes, in moderation it does make space for similar frequency instruments, but to apply it by the ton, to merely create a bounce, has ruined 1000s of tracks. It is a scourge like the loudness war and vocal auto-tune to cover up a crap singer, mainly in hip-hop.
If your track is crap, all the side-chaining in the world won't save it.
I think it’s more of an aesthetic choice. To say it’s ruined songs because they don’t achieve groove the old fashion way, is kinda narrow minded because this pumping effect is in itself an aesthetic choice. I can understand not liking it, but to claim it’s ruined music because it isn’t used how you like is just not the best take. But I do agree that one still needs a good structure underneath it or with it for it to work. obviously not all heavily sidechained songs sound good but they are not the scourge of music like you say they are
@Cableguys: I know this example is using a kick (wav sample) to trigger the side chain, but why in Logic when using a kick (sampler instrument ) as sidechain, the kick waveform is delayed in the volume display. What would be the workaround in Logic?
