    Ive been involved in the industry for decades..... And low and behold, Its not often you can find a channel that isnt just "whitenoise". ;)
    I enjoy your content, and we all need to promote your channel, as its no Frills, and to the point, without opinion.... Technical facts and information that many can extract to their benefit.
    Hats off to you.

    Nice video !
    I see you use native reaper JSFX Spectrogram, I would advice to use either the free Voxengo Span, or the fresh new Tokyodawwn TFR Prism (free as well). The later has nice antialiasing which would be nicer on video IMHO. 😉

      All three are great! Some do some things better than others, so it all depends on use case.

    Fun fact: There is a certain very specific instance where saturation can actually remove harmonics! If you take a triangle wave and run it into a very simple lookup style saturation (I used melda audio's saturation for this) you can dial it in such that it becomes a sine wave on the output! Just a fun neat trick, I doubt it has any real application.

    Interesting!
    I have even seen things in texts meant to those who are new to audio, write things like that male voices can get down as low as 80 Hz. While it's true when looking at the fundamental, it's far from true when it comes to where the majority of the acoustic power, is emitted. Many people apparently have hard to understand that anything else than a sine wave, must consist of multiple frequencies.
    Electrical engineers are probably more familar in general with this, than those so called sound engineers. For example in AC systems, harmonics is usually unwanted and may cause noise issues far above the operating frequency (this is due to frequencies that's not supposed to be there, appears because of the distortion).
    The level of the harmonics determine the wave shape - but what also matter (not shown in the video) is the phase angle of the harmonics. By adjusting those 2 factors, any wave form may be created.

    I don't hear the difference between the Radiator plugin on and off. Does it mean I'm deaf or my speaker system is too cheap? Or it's intended to be audible using headphones?

    These videos are priceless gold to the audio engineering community online...often times providing more depth than paid courses at universities...the future is now.

    I wonder how you could manipulate the wave form by introducing low level harmonics to the mix.

      thats what he did. do you mean additional low frequency harmonics? this would result in the opposite like a subharmonic generator, bass enhancer etc. etc. exists also for a long time.

    There is no right and wrong in creative practice, there is only good and bad, and those are subjective terms rather than absolutes. I think there is something inherently elitist to determining a technique as being wrong, it’s better to suggest ways in which a practice can be “improved” rather than to discard alternative practice as wholly incorrect.

    in A4=432 hz all C frequencies are multiple of 8 exactly ....

    • @davidhiggen3029
      @davidhiggen3029 День тому

      True, but remember that the second is an arbitrary unit of time that happens to have been adopted as a convenient standard by human scientists and engineers. There is nothing mystical or magical about A=432.

    • @davidhiggen3029
      @davidhiggen3029 День тому +6

      OK, let's try again. Yes, A=432 puts middle C at 256 Hz. But the second is an arbitrary unit of time which has been standardized for convenience by human scientists and engineers. It has no 'universal' significance. So there is nothing magical or mystical about A=432.
