This player plays semi-blind and omits narration, allowing the viewer to experience the thrilling sense of isolation on Riven. Puzzles are slowly and steadily solved over reasonable intervals of time, and only after carefully investigation of each environment. Recommended!
HAVING WATCHED ALL FOUR PARTS OF THIS BLIND PLAYTHROUGH: An excellent and rewarding experience, highly recommended to all, especially those like me who have never played through Riven. The Player solves puzzles blind, with careful investigation and just enough fumbling to give the viewer a chance to experience the (at times) mind-boggling complexity of this landmark game. The complete lack of commentary is perhaps not entirely necessary, but it does allow the viewer to experience the thrilling beauty of Riven firsthand without any spoilers or handholding. In the latter episodes of the playthrough, the Player begins to communicate with the viewer through the journal feature, which is both appreciated and helpful. GREAT JOB!
Excellent walkthrough (blind?) without narration. I must admit that the walkthroughs I have been watching thus far are, shall we say, EXCESSIVELY narrated. Please post your progress soon. Great job!
Thanks. The full playthrough is up: ua-cam.com/play/PLe0-FyoqyryrNiEBO0E3qbuUEH9GZPXg5.html&si=OSOxWqI9ipNNiIfU . Yes these are mostly blind. Also, several puzzles are different from the original game.
@@PCGamingGoodies I read that in your description. Yes, I was watching the revolving planetarium bit and thinking: How the heck did they do this with the stop-and-click format?" Great work, keep it up.
