I know ICR2 had a DOS version.. and the renewed one "CART" that is a windows game... but then, later, they've made an accelerated windows version of ICR2 too.
After they lost the licence they released a dos accelerated cart as well . Exe as well as the Windows version. There is no accelerated Windows version as far as I'm aware.
Can you please tell me how to install this in my ICR2 ? I'm running ICR2 in D-Fend Reloaded. Seems like a great improvement in the graphics....can you please explain? Thank you.
ua-cam.com/video/p5YNRIrFeN8/v-deo.html might help. You'll need the alpha release of RReady, the store release doesn't have the 16 MB VRAM support yet. Run dosbox-rendition from RLauncher.exe's dos tab. Rlauncher can be found in the RReady alpha zip (7z zip file). The store based rlauncher, when it gets the update will need to be run from the start menu. To install icr: there's a dos/Rend folder there (if the cd has support for rendition. If not you'll probably have to find a version with support. If you're comfortable with an iso the Internet archive has an image of Cart racing 2, which is the same game without the indy branding). Copy the contents of the folder to your hard drive. Run and close dosbox and hit the dosbox-rendition settings button in rlauncher and at the end of the conf file add a mount command to load the icr2 folder you copied to. Run dosbox-rendition and navigate to the icr2 folder and run setup. You should be able to configure sound settings here. Sound blaster 16 is what you need for digital audio and midi music. Copy the patched cart. Exe or IndyCar. Exe to the folder using windows file explorer. The game exe *MUST* be called cart.exe or IndyCar.exe or it won't work properly. If this doesn't work, let me know and I'll post a lengthier guide.
It might be a good idea to wait until I've finished my testing and push out a build. During testing I've found a stability issue. It's been fixed, but there're a whole lot of tests yet to go. I should have fully tested builds for the store and the alpha release in the next 3-4 days.
It's ready. The freeware alpha release can be found here, I suggest you try this first to see how well it work on your system: www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=1185389#p1185389 The store version, if the wrapper works well and you want to get rid of the watermark/text is available here (This is for the US store, but there's localised versions if you live elsewhere): apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nrcqj8vlgtk?hl=en-US&gl=US
haha I wouldnt be surprised if you ended up getting a wheel and pedal set yourself with all the testing.🤪 Awesome work
Thank you. I aim to please. Bit difficult to debug with a wheel in the way.
@markcampbell2364
How did you get your wheel working in staging? GPLaps is having issues with the store based build of staging. It only sees 1-axis.

You fixed the ICR2 Rendition helmet bug?! 👏🏻👍🏻
this is another car sets which have 3d entirely, instead of buggy sprite helmets. this is not fix.
@WhiteMagicRaven Good to know. Had my hopes up there for a bit. 😛
Sorry.
@@sharangadayananda No need to be sorry. You didn't do anything wrong.
Well, the cycling helmets aren't fixed, so I am sorry. I don't think they can be fixed easily.
