  • Workplace Communication Barriers - The Real Reason We Don't Give Feedback. Most people say they don't want to give others feedback because they don't want to hurt people's feelings. This isn't really the reason we don't give feedback. Most people don't give feedback because they're afraid of the other person's defensive reaction. We don't want to deal with someone's defensive reaction. It's easier to say nothing or tell someone else than give negative feedback and risk a defensive response.
