Bought my LX100 right after the launch, and probably will never sell it. It is an almost perfect EDC camera (and, yes, I had a X100S once). Great video, as usual. 🙂 Some opinions from an old time user: - About the dust problem: I never had. The cap is cheap, pratical, and very recommended. - The sensor is not oversized - it is the regular 16mp sensor (the same as the GX85), and the image circle of the lens does not cover it all, hence the 12mp final resolution. For me, a stellar compromise - since the lens could be smaller; - I'm the opposite of you - I hate the camera JPGs 🙂 Think they are kinda mushy, even putting the NR in -5, and the color science is from the GH4 era. The most seen video on my channel, by far, was from a Chemical Brothers concert that looked amazing with this camera. This camera is legendary. Panasonic is VERY dumb to do not a version with the G9 MK II internal, a better EVF, and a tilt screen. It is a MUCH more versatile camera than the X100 line, because it have a zoom. Love mine to death. Regards and keep doing your videos - I love them.
I've got the LX100II. I think the colors & af are *supposed to be slightly improved. Possibly a slight improvement in high ISO performance. Touchscreen is helpful in a pinch. But because of the higher MP there's a greater crop in 4K video compared to the original LX100. Something to be aware of if that matters for your purposes. I'm heavily video-focused, so I wish there was less of a crop in 4K & a dedicated video mode, rather than just the video record button. Other than that, LX100 is an amazing series. The original LX100 might make even more sense for me, especially since I focus and recompose. But I wouldn't pay more than $500 USD for the og LX100. Not because it's not worth it, but because I've seen them frequently below that price point over the years. I'm interested to see how M43 does in the future with AI (e.g. Topaz). Would negate some of the challenges of the "smaller" sensor. I pushed the LX100II pretty hard in low light and was able to use NR and upscaling in Topaz to greatly improve the results.
You are so much fun to listen to. Love your photos as well. Love the way you have multiple subjects in frame that have a unifying purpose to tell your story. Have a great 4th of July and summer.
great video! I have one myself. I didn't like it at first because of the lens extending quite far... BUT i was forced use it as my main camera for professional work since my main camera broke. I started using it seriously at a wedding as a secondary camera; and this little dude handled it so well that I ended up using it more than my DSLR. Long story short, the clients loved the photos, no complaints what so ever, files were easy to work with and overall it was a great experience using it professionally.
Love a bargain story!! Great idea with fixing the broken shutter wheel. I so agree, the LX100 series of camera is so well thought out I loved testing the mkii. I had it on loan and so wanted to buy one for myself but they're still so expensive 😂 one day
Yesss. Lumix need to update their compact MFT camera lineups- GX and LX. That G9ii sensor, PDAF, full weather sealing and updated modern features. One thing i love to see is that newly launched Real time lut feature. That would be so much fun for an EDC cam. We could create our own recipes and share them like fuji community. Just perfect. And about the flash being on-camera, Either they can only add a small weak one like in fujifilm x100 ( which can be way too lower and causes shadow of lens on subject ) or change the dial layout with manual shutterspeed dial to give some real estate for the one like in gx85. A tiltable display without huge bazels will give us plenty of screen space. Why can't any cameras can't do this?? I dont know. Smartphones could do it. And maybe a pop up EVF like in sony rx series would be a good idea to go along with that. Since leica d lux 8 is out ,maybe something is coming from panny boy too😂. Lets hope.
I fricking love what you did with that missing thingy of the dial- Just got one of these and been using it for a few months now, I can say this is a killer camera and in my experience it got me out of my comfort zone, I’ve been shooting fully B&W 16:9 and dang this thing feels nice to shoot with. The physical dials and settings are so clicky and functional, also I got the silver version and I can almost say it’s a fashion piece since it’s so well designed. The lens is really good and sharp although you can adjust it even more to your taste in the settings this is one of the most versatile lens I’ve used. That’s the word I would use for this camera, versatile
Yes, it's camera perfection. My friend lent me one LX100 mark I for a month and I totally fell in love with it. The Leica zoom lens is really the heart of this camera, F1.7 at 24mm all the way to F2.8 at 75mm, what an incredible zoom range. The 12MP M4/3 is good enough thanks to the Leica zoom lens, the build quality is really good as well, right size, right weight. The only drawback is the lack of a touch screen which later on the second gen LX100II has.
I got my D-LUX (Type 109) with the grip, a couple of first party batteries and some other Leica accessories from a Leica store in mint condition for USD600. A steal. Very happy with that deal. Fantastic camera. Always was, always will be.
Nice one! My favorite camera to bring along is my Canon PowerShot G1x Mark III. The colors are amazing, the lens has a surprising amount of character and the best of all: the camera is weather sealed! Giving me the peace of mind to bring it along everywhere I go. Would love to see more of these large sensor, zoom lens cameras.
@@OneMonthTwoCameras Cool! I bet you'll enjoy it. The lens has a sort of natural glow in high contrast situations, a little bit like a built in diffusion filter, just more subtle. It's wonderful for portraits. The only thing I don't like is the video functionality. Unfortunately it only shoots 1080p and the quality is quite poor.
I saw the title and thought "Well, for me it's my LX100 that's in my handbag pretty much all the time." Clicked on the video and when you showed the camera, I just laughed. It's such a great little thing. I've had it for a few years now and I love it to bits.
Same here! Love that little thing. Picked up a cheap store display copy with a massive ding just in front of the hot shoe, no idea how they did that. One thing I've always struggled with though, especially when compared to my fujis, is how to quickly get the raws looking nice in Lightroom. Eventually made myself a preset I'm reasonably happy with across different shooting conditions, but would love to hear more about your process with this sensor specifically! Oh! Almost forgot I actually had to get it repaired for dust jamming up the lens at some point, but a courier came to my door and picked it up, and I had it back a week or two later, no charge. Just really stellar service!
It's such a fantastic little camera -- even with my X-T3 and the plethora of lenses, I still find myself using this. I love the ability to label subjects and the fact that it can recognize my individual family members is ✨
I just watched this video. I also have an X-T3 and 5 lenses and an LX100 II. I went to France for two weeks and left the Fuji at home. I never used the LX100 extensively and in those two weeks, I absolutely fell in love with it.
Another great video! I really respect your eye for color and framing. You review cameras without forgetting that ultimately they are only in service to the art of creating images.
I bought this for about 350 $ on my recent trip to Hanoi and I really love it as a travel or an EDC. I was actually looking at a lumix gx85 with the 20mm lens but the lx100 felt so much better in terms of performance with a much smaller body. I find it is a great gateway to the m43 system.
I have this camera and the GX85. I’m a big fan of the later body. Even though the LX100 Has that super lens, I like to use my other M43 lenses. The GX85 isn’t as small or lightweight as the LX100. It is just a personal choice. I’m surprised the LX100 and GX85 use the same battery. There is no doubt that LUMIX created a winner with the LX100. Maybe that is why they created the LX100ii. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
I have an LX7, which is like a tiny version of this. Much smaller sensor, of course, but awesome in good lighting. Lots of the same switches/features. It's great!
Nice one! The lx100 models have been really fascinating to me - having m43 in almost the same body as the earlier models sounds like a dream. One thing about the manual focus is that yeah, distance makers would be great, but the fact it has peaking is AMAZING. I love that Panasonic included those things so early
Have you encountered any dust bunnies at f8....I have the camera but can't use it for the poka-dot dust on the sensor and which become prominent at anything over f/5.6. Not sure there is a fix for that.
Great video about a great camera that was ahead of its time. Would like to see the G9ii sensor and all of its benefits (more resolution, DR, better high ISO, faster readout) in an update. The lens can stay the same spec wise but would love to see proper weather sealing. Finally improving the displays would be a nice touch.
My first interchangeable lens camera was an Olympus EPL-5 in like 2013 and I think I took some of my best photos with it using a lens converter and old lenses. I used it until it broke and swapped over to a fujifilm xt20 in 2018 but I’ve never quite felt as bonded with it! I might be tempted to look at what deals I can get on a M4/3 camera to see how they’ve developed over the past 12 years :D
Since 1981 my go to personal camera has been the Canon VT Deluxe. I currently have a stable of four of them, each with a different film stock, each with a Voightlander 21 or 25 mm f4 ltm lens with external viewfinder.(and of course a Canon 50 mm f1.8 ltm for low light.)
I agree with everything you said in this review. I have a Fujifilm X-T3 with 5 lenses. I wanted a back up/second camera and wanted the same tactile feel of the X-T3 so I bought an LX100 II. I always took both when I traveled but this May my wife and I went to France for two weeks and I wanted to travel light. I left the Fuji at home and was forced to live with the LX 100 II. I absolutely love it. In tight places the 24-75mm zoom gives you great versatility that a fixed lens compact can't. I think the LX 100 II is worth the difference from the original for two main reasons. 1. The extra megapixels which give you nice shots in the Intelligent Zoom Mode (not Digital Zoom). In Intelligent Zoom the camera crops the sensor and your range extends from 75mm to 150mm. Because of the extra pixels from version 1, you get decent resolution at 150mm. 2. The newer model has a fully functioning touch screen.👍👍
The LX100 is a great camera! Having the hot shoe is a bonus on the LX100, seeing a Panasonic have ditched the hot shoe on many other "small" bodies (see the GF7/9/10 etc). S lightly off the current camera... But I have to say that I got a steal today! A mint Olympus E-620, with 8GB CF, 14-42, 40-150 AND 30mm f3.5 macro. All boxed in new condition. And I mean new! When I unboxed it, it was still in factory settings. I put the 14-42 on it and fired a couple of shots to test it and when I checked the shutter count, they were the first shots ever taken with the camera! And all that lot cost me US$180. An absolute steal! Great Oly colour science!
I bought the LX-100 back in early 2015, and it has been a favorite of mine! When my son and his wife made a trip to Mexico a few years back, it ended up being damaged somewhere along the way and, though it still takes great photos, the rear screen no longer works. I happened to find a Leica D-Lux Typ 109 for a really great price, so I picked it up to use while the LX-100 was waiting to be fixed. Aside from a few minor interface differences, I find that the Leica's RAW files seem identical, but the JPEG files are quite different and, in my opinion, much improved over the Panasonic's. A minor detail, though, as I routinely edit the RAW files for my files. I agree, though, that it has very little to improve upon, and I have found nothing to tempt me away from it! 😁
Today I lent my LX7 to the teenage son of a friend who is interested in exploring photography. A DLSR is probably too big for the throw in a pocket and go cycling or snowboarding, but a compact camera like the LX7 might be the gateway camera helping him to decided if and what to buy next. I mentioned the LX100 as a possible option if he liked the form factor and Panasonic configuration.
Bought the dlux version for 70 us with a broken lens, learned to do a little camera repair and now I have one that works for like 300, sits on the shelf mainly. I am going to dust it off and use it untill I understand it. One big problem with these guys is that the lens sucks in dust when you turn it on. The lens it came with is so mouldy that some of my favourite photos are me taking images of the ecosystem growing inside it. Might be a good idea to get the 3 door lens cap.
@@OneMonthTwoCameras Sorry yeah I just got to that part. I dont know if those 3 door screw on automatic lens caps actually stop the dust but I feel like they help.
Just perfect a camera. Owned three of these, one spoilt and two i sold to friends. the leica dlux typ 109 is virtually the same as well. awesome camera! only thing is it sucks in dust when in dusty environments butotherwise lasts so long. Killer leaf shutter and aperture combination and macro...thats awesome! used it for studio shoots and all great review!!!!!
Great video Ali, I love my LX100, lots of battle scars and broken battery compartment door but it still gets used loads. The size, the ergonomics and great image quality. I just wish the lens didn't suck dust in onto the sensor quite as much but I'd still never part with it until it dies :-)
Love this camera, had lx100II for a while, the only issue i had with it was the slow zooming, it takes seconds to turn it on, zoom to wanted focal length to shoot, with traditional zoom lens you just need to twist the barrel and its ready within a second.
The biggest question for me is, why can't i buy this lens for M4/3? The similar sized 12 - 32 has an aperture of 3.5 to 5.6. For light travel, i tage the GF-5 with built-in flash, but without viewfinder.
My everyday carry cameras that I am rotating through include the Fuji F45fd, F40fd, F50fd, F20, and the F660EXR. They were bought used and cost me $64 max (the F660EXR). I keep them on a belt case but they are small enough to put in a front pants pocket.
had the LX100 about 4-5 years ago, Love & hated it at the same time, the crop, high Iso is the biggest reasons why I sold it. My fav is the obvious GRIII, but also the LX7 and the Nikon P7700. I will say the ability to HSS with the LX100 is a game changer.
I have a LX7. Loved it. It has a 1” sensor. Maybe even smaller. The LX7 has the same kind of fast zoom lens as the LX100. Maybe it zooms to about 90 or 100mm. Sharp lens. Tiny and very lightweight. A super EDC. Have to dig around and find it. Thank you for reminding me. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Great video as always! Glad you mentioned the D-Lux8 and I am thinking exactly the same thing (and wishing an LX100iii with the G9ii sensor). Surely Panasonic and other manufacturers are watching the mayhem re the X100vi and can see the demand, though I guess they can only move so fast and risk missing the fad by the time they actually get something out. I have a Panny FZ1000 and am also annoyed with the constant in and out of the lens when switching from shooting to playback - though so far no dust 🤞
My EDC is the Olympus c70 it’s not a lot but in good lighting you’re getting some really dope shots. I also carry the g9 and a small Samsung d75. I love the c70 and grab it the most often when heading out.
I did a model test shoot with the D Lux 7 two days ago and couldn’t get on with it at all… the auto brightness is cool but I really struggled in sunlight, the face detect only works when you’re quite close? I also prefer the Center point and recompose. Compared to my XT30 II from Fuji it felt weak and the menu is a lot even though people claim Leica is so easy to set up? Changing the display brightness isn’t even possible in the Q menu and in sunlight I struggled stopping the camera down without increasing to f8 or higher so maybe I will need to take my ND filter more often. I loved the specs on paper but the menu was chaos for me idk. Maybe I’m just not skilled enough yet 😢
Nice choise! For this very purpose I've bought Sony Nex 5r (I never mined that someday I'll downshift to this)). It has the same size, the same zoom... Pocket camera is what you need after the big one)
@@unbroken1010 yes, I had to smack my fuji x100s with my shoe when the view finder got stuck. Was in Paris and got lots of strang looks from other touriste, LOL.
Loved my LX100. Kind regret selling it way back. Hopefully one day they will put the new sensor from the G9 II into the LX100 series and I think that will be awesome.
Thanks for the review, what I like about your reviews is it comes from a lot of use, actually this is so useful for photographers. I'm going back to micro 4/3rds (i had a Pan G2 which i loved but image quality was bettered in apsc so went sony nex 6, which i also love). Btw you are responsible for me buying an Olympus C-40 and E-500, which I really looking forward to playing with this weekend ;) might go lx100 or G9 or (deep breath) ... both. Love your photos.

Thanks for this video! I ended up buying a gx800. Should be the same sensor
... i totally agree with you. It is my camera for street, family, holliday. For other things i use the L G9. Sorry my english. Greeting from Tiro,l Austria
I have a copy of this camera. I think, somehow, that it seems a little fragile. I'm often afraid of being too hard on it - With the long lens. And the rings on the lens. Yes, I also have problems with dust on the lens. Maybe don't have quite the patience to have the lens vacuumed. Feels like it has to be done many times... But I really like it, for the same reasons as you. It is a unique travel camera. And I have also shot some really good evening/night pictures with it. It has a very good grip. Thank you for another good and personal review. Kenneth from Denmark
I have Lumix S9. That camera, unfortunately, is a little bit bigger and heavier. But, when you change its setting to manual focus, as you rotate the focusing ring, in the rear screen, the focusing distance is indicated, like ∞, 5m, 3m, 2m, 1.5m and so on. After you set the focusing distance to, say, 5m, then you can choose the Focus Ring Lock: ON option from the menu so that the focusing distance is locked even though you accidentally touch the focus ring. Also, in the menu there is an option called the minimum shutter speed, where you can set that to, say, 1/125s, say under the aperture priority AE. When you do that, obviously, you may want to choose to set your ISO setting to the Auto ISO. (And you may want to choose to set the maximum ISO value in the menu.)
I have the LX100 II. It’s an absolute jewel. It’s beautiful, it’s solid metal, lots of physical controls and it can produce gorgeous photos. Even Leica can be proud to claim it (and does). Maybe PDAF and a fast option for the motorized zoom could improve it, but it’s damn near perfect. Oh, I forgot! A LEAF shutter allowing fast sync speeds with the flash.
What are people's thoughts on the lx100 vs a gx85? I have a gx7 mkii from japan (gx80 or gx85 everywhere else) with the 20mm 1.7 and the 12-32 kit lens but wish it was a bit more solid feeling in my hands. Would the lx100 be worth the switch or are they very similar other than the lens situation?
I‘ve been watching your videos for a while and absolutely love them. Just realized I wasn’t subscribed and it felt like when you walk out of a store and realize you forgot to scan an Item at the self checkout lol.
LX100 is a great camera and I have always wanted one but can’t justify spending the $$. My travel camera is a Panasonic GM1 with the 12-32 kit lens and a couple small primes.
Sold my EDC (Fuji xe-1) to fund a wedding kit…. carrying a Canon 6d with 40mm pancake lens for now… Never shot Panasonic before but this looks very compelling!
There is no such thing as a perfect camera but for me my Olympus PenF with the 12-40 f2.8 PRO lens is as close as I’ve been able to come. The PRO lens is a little big but this combination has never let me down for those quick grab shots. It is with me in the passenger seat on any roadtrip. Nice for just walking around either in town or on a hike in the mountains.
I’m watching this while waiting for mine from KEH, and I didn’t know about the dust problem until now. Stressing me. Have you tried the GX85? I’m having a hard time deciding between that and the LX100 (don’t care about video).
Has anyone here ever figured out a tele adapter solution to the lx100? I've always wanted one but want to be able to get at least 1.4x further reach? Tried a filter ring adapter but couldnt get it on the lens
Nice review of the LX100. I was just about to sell mine. I love the ergonomics, but never liked the pictures I got out of it. I shot a lot of pictures wide and found the distortion a problem. Also, the colour was not to my taste. I could have sorted it by post processing the images, but I don't enjoy that. The images were pretty noisy too in low light. It worked really nicely with a Metz flashgun though. Might give it another go, but I am in love with the images that come straight out of my Fuji XT-30ii.
That LX100 looks so tempting. But, I do prefer smaller cameras if using a fixed zoom lens camera. If you haven't tried the Sony NEX-6 yet, you might want to consider it or the NEX-7. My NEX-6 is small with a big sensor and so many nice lens options. I adapt M42 lenses to it as well as using a Carl Zeiss Touit 32mm f1.8 etc.
This is a great camera, I used to have one but was forced to sell it when the Firmware corrupted itself and would randomly shut off. Panasonic did not release (atleast at the time) a user flashable Firmware update for the LX100 (mark I) and I didn't want to wait 2 months to send it to see if Panasonic would flash it at the factory and pay several hundreds of dollars to do something I should be able to do for Free :/. That said, I wound up replacing my LX100 with a Panasonic ZS100 which sacrificed the faster lens for a 10x optical zoom (which is a really useful range for just about every situation) and a smaller sensor. Most importantly, Panasonic DID release a Firmware update for the ZS100 so if I run into firmware issues I can fix it myself. In any case, Panasonic makes solid, amazing point and shoot cameras that often get overshadowed and overlooked (By Sony, Fuji and Ricoh's compacts). They are often a lot easier to find without having to buy from scalpers online (As in the case with the Fuji X100 series) or are priced out of most people's budgets (Sony RX100 and RX0). I highly recommend anyone looking for a pocket camera that can go the distance to look into Panasonic's offerings and agree wholeheartedly with OMTC here!
Man, mine has a lens error. The images were great but build quality was sub part. My Lx3 and lx5 still going. I feel like this lens has been in a lot of cameras. More then we know.
Absolutely agree that an updated version with better EVF, sensor, processing and touch screen (mkii got that anyway) and it would sell like hotcakes!!! C'mon Panasonic!!! With X100VI flying off shelves I'm surprised they're so slow to react...
I loved owning this camera - it felt so good in the hand and the controls, etc. But for some reason the actual shooting experience was not for me - the lends protrudes SO FAR. I so wanted to love it but finally sold it. Thanks to you (mostly) I tried the LX5 which I take everywhere. Yes, the sensor is smaller but for street it is so perfect, even with the lens extended. You still using yours?
They should release this lens as an interchangeable option for us m43 users. If they did that and brought back something like the small g880 with better evf, tilt screen and updated sensor I would buy immediately. 4:3 is my favorite aspect ratio and I really value small cameras.

Lets hope.
I fricking love what you did with that missing thingy of the dial-
Just got one of these and been using it for a few months now, I can say this is a killer camera and in my experience it got me out of my comfort zone, I’ve been shooting fully B&W 16:9 and dang this thing feels nice to shoot with.
A very lovely n instructive video, plus some GORGEOUS Photos with beautiful colours …
Ooo I have had my eyes on that camera! Eager to try it.
😂🎉
I really love the shots with your kids, especially the one with the new in the bucket! Beautiful colors.
Another great video! I really respect your eye for color and framing. You review cameras without forgetting that ultimately they are only in service to the art of creating images.
Thanks!
Gosh thank you! So kind! 🙏🏻
Have you ever gx9 + 20mm 1.8?
Consider:
- 20 megapixel delish
- screen tilt
- evf tilt - why?
- built in flash I think can’t remember never use
- v nice
- ibis (bin chicken?)
- exposure comp dial
- focus mode switch
- changea-the-lens-a-wheneva-u-like
I bought this for about 350 $ on my recent trip to Hanoi and I really love it as a travel or an EDC. I was actually looking at a lumix gx85 with the 20mm lens but the lx100 felt so much better in terms of performance with a much smaller body. I find it is a great gateway to the m43 system.
Totally agree. Just so fun and easy to carry.

Where did you buy it in Hanoi?
Watch the end of the video for someone's risky suggestion on how to remedy :P
WOW - Great review. I got to check out this Panasonic.. and maybe add to my Panny collection.
My EDC is a Sony RX100 Mark V, and I love it to bits for its popup flash, electronic viewfinder, stabilized sensor, and internal ND!
It's a good day when there's a new video from you! :) Gotta love a little camera!!
lightly off the current camera...
Have one. Got dust on sensor. Managed to find somebody to dismantle and clean camera, at great expense. that’s how much I liked it.
Good for you! And yeah I address the dust issue at the end of the video.
Killer leaf shutter and aperture combination and macro...thats awesome! used it for studio shoots and all
great review!!!!!
Love your style and I will like to know the name of your camera didn't catch it in the video and your preferred lenses
Great video Ali, I love my LX100, lots of battle scars and broken battery compartment door but it still gets used loads. The size, the ergonomics and great image quality. I just wish the lens didn't suck dust in onto the sensor quite as much but I'd still never part with it until it dies :-)
4:04 megapickel?
Those colours! Wow.
Love this camera, had lx100II for a while, the only issue i had with it was the slow zooming, it takes seconds to turn it on, zoom to wanted focal length to shoot, with traditional zoom lens you just need to twist the barrel and its ready within a second.
Very true
The biggest question for me is, why can't i buy this lens for M4/3? The similar sized 12 - 32 has an aperture of 3.5 to 5.6. For light travel, i tage the GF-5 with built-in flash, but without viewfinder.
My everyday carry cameras that I am rotating through include the Fuji F45fd, F40fd, F50fd, F20, and the F660EXR. They were bought used and cost me $64 max (the F660EXR). I keep them on a belt case but they are small enough to put in a front pants pocket.
Curious to know if you have kept your Leica X-2.☺
When I travel, I take this and the LUMIX FZ 300. All I need; no changing glass. Great combo.
hello whats the brand and model of the external flash?
had the LX100 about 4-5 years ago, Love & hated it at the same time, the crop, high Iso is the biggest reasons why I sold it.

@@martingreenberg870 surprising 1080p also- Lumix is wierd, the AF is better in their AIO then in the bigger cameras.
Love the b&w aesthetics of the video
❤️
Powershot g9*!
You shd try LX100 multiple exposure...truly amazing...I use to envy those days in 1990 of Nikon F801 ME capability.....just love my LX100
One of the best concert cameras of all time.
Agreed!!
I think that would be the ZS200/TZ200. Has a 24-360 zoom range with a 1 inch sensor. Incredible range.
Nah the sound was not that good. Mx1 is by far
Love the vacuum cleaner solution. Long live the simplw fix.
Yeah mine has a lens error. I heard about the vacuum thing it's a weird fix 😂 also just pound it on your fist to dislodge a shutter on Sony 😂
@@unbroken1010 yes, I had to smack my fuji x100s with my shoe when the view finder got stuck. Was in Paris and got lots of strang looks from other touriste, LOL.
@@robertlayne8180 has it acted up since then? People had to do that with first few Sony a7 because of their shutter.
@@unbroken1010 I just use the optical viewfinder on the fuji x100s. Havent had any problems since using the shoe whack.
Have you had issues with dust?
Hi did you try canon m6 mark II

@@OneMonthTwoCameras 🤗
I have a copy of this camera.
I think, somehow, that it seems a little fragile. I'm often afraid of being too hard on it
- With the long lens.
I just bought it like 10 days ago, covered my first event (elopement) as second camera of choice. I must say that I really like the camera.
I dropped my little Lumix dczs70, 3 times in Vegas and it still going strong. I'm surprised how well it is built.
Sounds like you are talking about an X100, when you describe what you would like changed about this camera, aside from the fixed lens of course
Love the buttons placement, sadly I can't clean the inside easily, and I live in quite dusty area. Other than that, beautiful edc indeed.
Do you still use your Lightroom profile?
Does the vacuum technique actually work..? I have to try this lol
I‘ve been watching your videos for a while and absolutely love them. Just realized I wasn’t subscribed and it felt like when you walk out of a store and realize you forgot to scan an Item at the self checkout lol.
Haha! Thanks for the sub!
LX100 is a great camera and I have always wanted one but can’t justify spending the $$. My travel camera is a Panasonic GM1 with the 12-32 kit lens and a couple small primes.
Thank you, what you do is very important and useful. 😘😘😘😘
You are so welcome!

I have an original Ricoh GR digital camera with 8 megapixels in my pocket and a Nikon D40x with an 18 70 afs DX f3.5 to F 4.5 lens in my bag.
Sold my EDC (Fuji xe-1) to fund a wedding kit…. carrying a Canon 6d with 40mm pancake lens for now… Never shot Panasonic before but this looks very compelling!
I bought mine refurbished for $600Cdn 6 years ago. It is my 'never leave home without it' camera
I use Lightroom and I really like their AI denoise tool. For my own personal photos it’s made low light performance less of a worry.
Try giving the scenery color settings I showed in the video and see if you like the jpeg results!
Lovely camera. Crop factor approx x2 i believe?
Yes, correct!
2.2 IIRC - it's cropping a crop sensor, if you will
Lumix really has weird problems with a lot of their zoom lensey camera and bridge camera. Mine all eventually get lens or mode problems
Love all that. Didn't realize about that early firmware issue but have long had an eye out for that ZS100. Looks so fun!
Im currently taking pics with lx100 in Italy. Perfect camera.
Excellent, thorough and detailed review. Why do you think these are so expensive on the used market? Wouldn’t a G100 with 12-32 be a much better buy?
I love the B&W, wish it wasn't as rare.
YESSSSSSS!!!
Thank you for this review.
If you have not already, give the Canon G1X Mk III a spin!!!
They should release this lens as an interchangeable option for us m43 users. If they did that and brought back something like the small g880 with better evf, tilt screen and updated sensor I would buy immediately. 4:3 is my favorite aspect ratio and I really value small cameras.
Great video as always. I have Leica version and and love it and it gets far my use than my Leica Q.
Song name?? 🤩
i knew this camera was going to come up soon!! how does this compare with the lx3 and lx5? :)
