Dan to sort out the problem with the quick jack is to remove / cut the plastic covers you have in the floor just the size of the jacks and they can be there permanently, that way they will be te same level than the floor and fit perfectly under the car.
Great video! Reminds me of the videos when I first found you (working on your 430). You need to do more of these. The rally’s and meetups are cool, but I feel this is why people first followed you and how you can grow the channel.
Well, yes and no... These are my "bread and butter" but I don't really get much growth from them. For example, I gained about 9,000 subs from the Live PD video... So unfortunately, UA-cam rewards drama a lot more than stuff like this.
Love your DIY videos. As a suggestion I would manually break the Torx just so it gets loose then use the drill. Would take a couple min more, but won't strip.

Hi Dan, question on the 348 engine major.. did you have any issues with the clutch bleeding process? Im trying to do it without having the power bleeder (so utilizing 2 person process) - cant seem to purge air completely. Thanks
Thank you so much for dyi videos like this. Please continue to do these videos when you are doing a routine maintenance or any repairs that needs to get done. Also whats the model or brand of the hand held computer you used to reset the maintenance schedule? What year is your 458? Also what was the milage when you purchased it and how much did you paid for your 458? Sorry about all the questions. Im looking to get a 458 ask well. Thanks again!
Interestingly the oil filter looks the same as the OE Volkswagen Purflux oil filter for the diesels, same oil filter cover too so assume Purflux made the housing and filter for Ferrari?

FYI, when you bounce the torque wrench like that, you are actually torquing beyond setpoint. You should ease up on the setpoint and when it clicks, you stop. The maintenance guys at my plant demonstrated this to me years ago using a torque wrench calibration machine. In some cases when I bounced the torque wrench, the actual torque was about 20% beyond setpoint. I wasn't trying to go beyond setpoint either. They were small bounces like yours.
@@normalguysupercar I'm sure it is close enough in reality when putting the drain plugs in. I was just sharing something interesting I learned, because I used to assume that a little extra bounce didn't matter, but it under certain circumstances, it could.

Good job Dan and I'm happy to know your new dog :) I learned to insert a little bit of new oil when the old is slowly dripping, this removes more impurities. When I see only new oil going out , I screw the bolt ;)
Great video, when I installed the headers on my C5 Corvette I ended up getting the 12 in tall race ramp stands just for the extra clearance because just like your Ferrari the ground clearance is very low
@@normalguysupercar it's the gateway drug to Ferrari hell. Next you'll be torquing the lug nuts to 300 ft/lbs. The exhaust manifold to 450 ft/lbs finally the steering nut to 500 ft/lbs, wait that's you...lol.

Don’t own a Ferrari so no idea if this makes sense; but can you not aspirate the oil out the top on these with a pneumatic evacuater? Would be so nice since the filter is on top too. Wouldn’t have to go underneath at all. I had an Audi S5 that I would do that on. Easiest oil change ever.
@@Patrick94GSR interesting enough the F430 did have them but the 458 does not. My honesty opinion is Ferrari removed them so they could charge more for oil changes.
I'm kinda surprised your 458 doesnt require thick oil such as 10w60. High revving high compression motor. My old m5 v10 required 10w60 initially from factory but a lot of rod bearing issues were attributed to that thick oil so people began using 5w40 or thinner oil instead. So maybe it's that or something related for your motor too? I have no clue. Anyway what breed is your dog?
Great video Dan with lols. Gotta back off on the make up as the mascara is starting to run off. It is also a good idea to let the car sit for a few hours (overnight if possible) & allow the old oil sufficient time to drain properly, as it’s the last bit of old oil that has all the gunk in it.
