I just saw this channel for the first time - this video specifically. As soon as you started doing research with an espresso machine I knew I was among my own kind. :) EXCELLENT video. I found this video because I was also doing research (with espresso) on a DIY sliding table saw. My shop is very small so I don't have space for a "permanent" sliding table so I really like the way it folds down. You have a new subscriber. :)

Decades ago, Ulmia produced a series of sliding table saws, ranging from quite small and simple to massive and elaborate, all of which embodied the very type of structural design and construction elements, in particular T-slot extrusions, you are working on. Such saws were marketed for a short time in the 1980's in the U.S. Upon seeing your preliminary design sketches in this video, I dug out of my files an extensive brochure that includes technical drawings detailed enough that one could build from them. There is no shame in copying a well designed solution already in the public domain. I think you would be inspired and your work load greatly lessened if you would try to locate information on the Ulmia line (now discontinued). The Ulmia design lends itself far better IMO to adaptation as a retrofit sliding table such as you seek to build than the more well known modern industrial design pioneered by Altendorf. From what I see, you are on track to build a very useful sliding table attachment, but I am pretty sure you are needlessly trying to re-invent the wheel. Good luck to you!

Why not buy yourself a plunge/track saw and save yourself a lot of hassle and make the job of cutting down sheet goods much safer. Prices range from £80 - £500 depending on budget and usually come with track. Very small footprint. After use store on a shelf! I use a Festool TS-55. I started off cutting boards on the floor, then as my workshop grew, I built an MFT. The track saw is very versatile as you can take it to the piece to cut, ie in your driveway, rather than bringing the piece to your saw. I do have a contractors table saw, but have not used it now for two years!
Because it most definitely aint the same. Don't get me wrong I've got both a track saw (well not really, a handheld makita circular saw with tracks) and a table saw. And you can't really do the same things.
Though I've thought about building a cutting table with a back fence and an adapter for my track which would give me perfect 90° cuts.
I guess the Ryobi sliding table saw is not available in your neck of the woods?

Ja, stimmt. Bin auch echt am überlegen das zumindest auch auf deutsch zu machen
