I preached for more than forty years and then God broke me and showed me my pride, prayerlessness and carnality. I cannot preach now for more than5-10 minutes.. I am still in the dust. He is now beginning to teach me the truth of Psalm 131. (I think) If the Lord moves anyone 's heart by this, please pray for me. Thank you.

@@colintyler1405 Same…I burned out doing Gods work in my strength…now I work on closeness with God and I wont lift a finger without the undeniable presence moving…and sometimes it’s doing NO work at all…for long stretches…

@@luisandujo5969 It is a real struggle doing nothing most days but chronic fatigue leaves me no option. It is frustrating to feel that I can do virtually nothing for the LORD. I have no choice but to be still and wait for his touch.

In Jesus, his teaching, miracles display of his greatness thru trials from satan himself all of it was displayed for all to see in Meekness and humility , more so than David the author of this Psalm, nay God bless your ministry and the work of translation. 11-29-2024

Thank you Pastor Guzik for this teaching. Yes, we need to not try to be 'seen' as we work for the Lord, just keep humble like David who was King and therefore expected to be proud. from June from Ireland

Jesus, seated at the right hand of God the Father. What a Man!, we are called to have fellowship with Him.
I am on the way to please Him forever.
May God bless all of us to fulfill His heart's desires as we learn His ruling over us daily, in every area of our lives, for His glory.
    Amen.

Thank you for making your sermons and notes so accessible..ie Blue Letter Bible and you tube. Two of my friends and I are studying the Psalms of Ascents using this material.. it has been such a blessing to us! Your material is so thorough. Love that you go back to Spurgeon and some of the other great commentators. You are equipping the saints!

One day I was on a public transportation, a minibus, and I saw a mother carrying her weaned child. She was sitting in front of me, she was looking at the view through the front of the minibus window.
I look at the child, he stares at his mother's face constantly and comfortably along the way, not once he looked toward other side, I was amazed and pondered by it.
There is something that I can not describe in words in that "staring".
At that moment I understand what that verse means "a calmed and quieted soul like a weaned child with his mother."
The last verse of the 131 Psalm sums what that "stares" is about, hope.
The translation used the word "hope", the origin word was "ya-ḥêl", root from "yachal" which translates as "to wait" or "await".
That weaned child awaits his mother's love, just like David awaits the Lord's, patiently, comfortably, and constantly in his soul.
Thank you for the enduring word.

Thank you for sharing these words of wisdom and encouragement, brother! Some years ago I heard a dear sister share Psalm 131 on the radio and it caught my attention back then and does so again today.
Godliness with contentment is great gain!

Opinion: You are the most balanced handler of God's word. This doesn't reflect in your subscribers, however. Love Mike winger, Tim mackie, etal. I don't notice a shred of pride, only a heaven set mind and heart for God's people, and God Himself. You're like a heavenly optometrist, or surgeon. Have I gone too far? Hallelujah
