What is 'bank jugging'? Police issue alerts to residents in Greenbelt, Bowie

- Law enforcement agencies across our area are issuing alerts about jugging, where crooks watch you during your banking transactions and then rob you. Greenbelt police issued an alert Wednesday, just one day after Bowie police put out a similar alert.

Ohh the cops will help, themselves to your gun, your freedom, your wallet and your everything. They’re more likely to arrest you for defending yourself than they are the criminals who rob you. Not to mention the criminals family forcing you to declare bankruptcy and hiding assets after they try to rob you a second time in civil court

Sounds like some vigilantes who pretend to withdraw money but actually have cars full of armed men with other vehicles waiting.
get your LTC, even tho cops hate citizens have rights to carry, but protect yourself...it is not police's job to do so.
Not a good idea. The police will arrest you for defending yourself. If you actually shoot someone they’ll deny you bond and keep you locked up. While stuck in jail, you’ll likely lose your job, your home, your car and whatever else they can take for non payment. Even if you don’t shoot they’ll come after you for aggravated assault and whatever else they can tack on. Good luck finding someone who can cover a 250,000 dollar bond. Even if you do bond out you’ll have to hire a lawyer ( like me) and possibly have to go to trial ( believe me I’ll use every trick I can to zap stuff at a preliminary hearing but sometimes the cops just won’t deal and they schedule a court date). If you shot someone it’s probably going to take me a week or 3 to get you out of jail assuming someone can pay 25 to 50k or a bail bondsman will foot the bill. If you lose a trial they’ll remand you right to jail even on an appeal. I’ve had clients serve out a 3 year sentence before their appeal ever happened. Not to mention the headaches of finding work with a criminal record ( like that 45 year old guy who takes the bus to work at jiffy lube for 7.15 an hour cause nobody else would hire him). I can tell you this, I have far more bargaining power if you use a vehicle as a self defense weapon. I can almost always get those cases dismissed or settled for 6 months probation and no record. I also have to add, if you do shoot them then you had better hope they had a gun and they were trying to point it at you when you shot them. In those cases you might lose the gun but your probably going home that night
You don’t need a gun. Use the drive through ATM and remember 3500 plus pounds of sheetmetal makes an awful mess when you hit something with it
