Omg , I'm a LIBERIAN ,but I love this particular South African music . Lucky Dude and Ntombi's music did well in LIBERIA . We love you guys in South Africa.
Ooooh I wish life be rewinded back my childhood memories were the best time ever.... The feeling keeps coming back to me now ,I remember this days around the year 1994 I used to snick from home to go to a nearby baba shop in our village just have a glimpse of this songs.
My dad used to listen to these songs but sadly he kicked us all out before we even knew ourselves. Now am somewhere all grown, thriving and bursting this song on a JBL music system, sipping smooth VSOP Brandy, and wishing he knew the potential I had. If only he took care of me now I would be taking of him. Poor him!
@@mathewnderitu1983 and you are the people preaching irresponsible fatherhood? Why should I encourage irresponsible fatherhood? Our local markets here in Malawi were full of this music in the late 90s... A day wouldn't pass without these disco beats thundering through the market streets and taverns.... Till date I still love this music in my world
by the time i was still playing foot ball these song was played when we ente the pitch and these was our moral booster for our team eeeeeeeeeeeeeesh i wish
Ntombi was from South Africa. On this song its a widow whose husband died a natural death,so she is giving a warning order to her child that they are going to perish with poverty, they are going to die in ramshackled buildings.Marhumbini means an old dilapidated building
can't you help please assist. i hear people talk about Ntombi Marhumbini from east of Africa and Central Africa. am not so sure if she's coming from South Africa/ Mocambique. i need to know how was her marketing did you know her thorough Radio station or she use to come and perform live concept ? i say this as she sang her song with Xitsonga language from South Africa. the language also found in Mocambique and eastern side of Zimbabwe.
In western Kenya, the songs were a hit. no concert to promote the music (as far as i can say and very limited radio airtime). These songs were largely promoted through night and ceremonial dances. something sociologists need to try and unravel. People were always looking out for the next release. But its unbelievable how the music spread...looking back, i can say i think the dance-ability of the music itself promoted her music, same as girlie mafula.
Kenyans let's gather here and discuss the real bottom up feeling of this music 🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪🕺💃
