Thanks so much for all the kind words, I'm really glad people like them! In case you missed it the STL is also now available over on my Patreon, link in video description, really looking forward to seeing how people paint theirs up. :)
'Where does he get those wonderful toys?' He only bloody makes them himself. Another great video and another outstanding figure. Keep making figures and I'll keep watching.
This is gorgeous. I love the chunky big 80’s and 90’s action figures style. It’s too bad games workshop will never make something like this, because I would buy the set in a heartbeat. Great job!
Same! I don't collect anything Games Workshop makes, but these little love letters to an iconic piece of pop culture history would find their way onto my shelves.
I agree. It's odd they don't have licensing deals with companies like Mezco/Super7, I feel like stuff like this would be in those lines of products. Also, I'd kill for a ReAction/5 Points figure of a Space Marine.
@slimehousetv credit where credit is due bud, your figures are something a lot of people (myself included) wish we could buy for our collections. Doing amazing stuff. And what a choice to give the toy makeover treatment to as well, amazing
Your sculpt is superb. It reminds me a lot of the TMNT line by Playmates. A very similar and appropiate cartoony design with a better sculpt than they would have been able to mass produce back then. Great job!
These look gorgeous and I'd buy them in a heartbeat if they were available. I think there would be a lot of potential for an action figure line like this. Not just from a creative perspective, because of how many different types of iconic figures you could create from the source material (Orks and Gretchins would look great with this aesthetic too I think), but also from a marketing perspective, considering it would allow for countless repaints and retools of many molds. Being able to keep a mold in use for multiple generations of toys is a big win if you're a toy manufacturer.
I really love how you chase after such an exactingly specific aesthetic… and actually nail it. I’m an action figure kid of the eighties that didn’t grow up with WH49k, but I would’ve jumped on these figures. They could not be cooler and more attractive as toys. They would POP off the shelves of any 80’s or 90’s toy aisle. (Also, I love that my favorite UA-camrs all know each other. It’s like a freaking Avengers meeting.)
This does give me several questions on what your planning on in the future like: -Vehicles? -Playsets? -Toys with moving parts or gimmicks (like ramming head or spring loaded rocket)?
Imagine a Rhino toy with all the play features of something like the Ninja Turtles Party Wagon. A big spring loaded Hunter Killer Missile, an opening cupola where you can seat one of the Space Marines (and a Storm Bolter for him to shoot), omg it'd be so cool.
For the booth comp - I do a lot of Necromunder scenery and models in a tight working space, so a water booth would save me having to cut a hole in my garage wall for ventilation
Brother, these turned out great! l love that transparent one. It reminds me of an old ToyBiz Iceman I had in the 90s. Love to see the STL tier. I'm gonna need to jump on that once I replace my printer.
Just found your channel, you nailed the hell out of it, 10/10. Was great hearing the accent as well. I'm Canadian, but my Nan was from Hunslet, Grandad from Salford. Loads of family in Leeds, but I don't get to hear their voices that often.
Loved how it turned out!!! cant wait to see what else you do with the 40k series. I'm currently working on a couple of kits myself I'm working on making a MGS1 solid snake and a titan fall 2 Jack cooper, after that I plan on making a 1/12th scale titan and a 1/12th scale Rx7 and AE86 to go in my initial D collection with my new 3d printer, Your painting style really inspired me to get into airbrushing!!!
Nailed it again!!! 100% , The finish on your pieces looks so factory/professional . Also watching your vids recently has got me into sofubi style stuff, I'd love the stl file to your character with the cone shaped head!!
11:15 sounds an awful lot like a tacit admission to a misspent youth full of graffiti and hooliganism lol. Love the way the paint came out though. I've never been a huge fan of the older GW models even though I've always loved 40k. They just don't look very cool to me, but this came out with a unique very comic book style. The space Marines and the gene stealers you made have a much more appealing look than the 90s original sculpts and I really like the paint on all of them. Nice new flavor. Thanks for the vid, well done.
This is for sure one of your best work and creations, you nailed it, it looks very professional, clean, sharp, tight and more. Well done! Have a great Christmas, speaking of Christmas, ever thought about making a Christmas themed figure? Since it is the season, i have to ask :)
Glad you like the figure dude! And No plans for a Christmas figure, I made a figure last year that was Christmas themed to me not sure if you watched the video. The Mandroid!
@@slimehousetv I did watch your Mandroid video, i saw it back when you relased it. I was perhaps thinking about something new and something more of your own, just asking for fun and thinking maybe something more direct like a Chainsaw Santa or a Godzilla mutated with a Christmas tree, it is endless what you can do and it is all about the delivery and i small ideas tying it togheter. Best of luck to you on your toymaking adventure and whatever you decide to do next!
Right now, I'm working on some homemade Christmas decorations for my family - Currently on my painting desk is a large handful of nutcrackers that I'm painting by hand! In the future, I want to work on a large diorama gaming board to donate to my LGS, and the airbrush booth will be 50% of the way to having a proper airbrush setup to get it!

Ah those Kenner aliens! Theere used to be a good toy and model shop near the bus station in Carlisle that stocked them and I remember really wanting them when I was a kid, amazing looking toys. But I was too young to know what Aliens was, haha
I could absolutely use that spraybooth. I'm putting together a resin printing station from some 2nd hand older printers but I've never had a proper spray set up. I'm hoping to also do some action figure stuff, although not based on the Kenner vibe. I likewise want to bring some old British properties to toyetic life for the first time.
These turned out really nicely. I wonder if it's possible to establish a color gradient with translucent color mixes with resin printers. I've gotten more into sculptural/garage kit side of this hobby, old Nirasawa and Makoto Kobayashi kits and Ma.K, mostly focused there these days. Staring down 1/6th scale and sofubi really gets the collector's mania churning and I have to step away from that precipice. Good luck with your manufacture and future projects.

I absolutely love these figures, you've made an amazing job of them. I much prefer the style of old school warhammer and the genestealers are scary ass baddies
