    The interpretation I get from this is how we follow orders without even knowing why or what where really doing. And the loop of doing it over and over again without care,but at the same time immense focus and rhythm

    It occurs to me that repetition and blind obedience are core attributes in this exercise. Whether as an artistic statement or political... or both, its message is clear, appreciated and beautiful. The fluid, deliberate motions are symbolic of obedience and either violent or passively aggressive outcome. Sic vis pacem, para bellum.

      My take is that we build peace, and yet it’s taken back apart. It happens again and again. Peace is built, and taken away yet again. There is no end, and it could be changed, but nobody will.

    That takes some impressive skill! When I take apart and re assemble my AK it takes at least twice as long to get the bolt correct, and put on the damn dust cover, and they are doing it blindfolded! I don't know what the message is behind this, but it looks almost litteral, like someone who has mastered a task to perfection can do it repeatedly, blindfolded. Fascinating!

    The people disassembling and reassembling the guns in this vid are very skilled. Guns are a powerful tool. Shooting a gun is easy, but knowing how they work and how to take them apart and put them back together is an important form of understanding.

    My view on this is how people can quickly switch between opinions without realizing the harm they are doing. They are following orders, but they don’t know that they could be harming people.

  • @sunlight.5175
    @sunlight.5175 2 роки тому +42

    As soon as I saw this, it was immediately unnerving to me. That’s what I love about art like this. It screams the topic of shootings and gun violence to me. The fact their sight is completely restricted in any way also seems to be a way to voice that people who contribute to gun violence, shootings and anything to do with guns are blind and do not care, even if they’re aware of what it is they’re doing.

    • @hooves2noodles_art
      @hooves2noodles_art 2 роки тому +3

      exactly. people who own guns and swear by them are blind to the harm it causes people. gun advicates are too stuck in their ways to change. not only that, but anger issues come into play as well.
      In short, if a person has one, they are more likely to pull the trigger in moments of emotion. They are impossible to have their opinion about these weapons changed. Two reasons why I strongly believe guns need to be outlawed- it would stop a lot of unnecessary bloodshed

  • @lastchanc3stars

    This piece, clear-as-day, is meant to represent following orders blindly; fulfilling requests regardless of questionablity. We go in empty motions, doing the same tasks over and over again in a never-ending loop.
    That lack of the ability to question your own actions, to pause for a moment and say "No." causes these bloody conflicts the AKs represent. We are constantly enabling conflicts because seeing is not an option.
    Theoretically, we could remove these blindfolds, but it is far scarier to see yourself pushing genocide and war than it is to obediently act under someone else's whim and call.

    I see something really beautiful and uniting in this presentation. There are a bunch of men with real guns who can just shoot all the rest if they decide to. Or they can shoot the public. And since they are blindfolded the rest wouldn't be able to protect themselves or react fast enough. I think it shows he we are all united in this world and we have to trust each other.

    My interpretation is that these people got paid to do this and be viewed by people they couldn't even see. I would not want to be put on display and have to perform while not being able to see who is watching me, but there is an amount of money that would make me do this. Makes you think about the things we do that we don't want to just because we need the money.

    "Of all the weapons in the vast Soviet arsenal, nothing was more profitable than Avtomat Kalashnikova model of 1947, more commonly known as the AK-47, or Kalashnikov. It's the world's most popular assault rifle. A weapon all fighters love. An elegantly simple 9 pound amalgamation of forged steel and plywood. It doesn't break, jam, or overheat. It will shoot whether it's covered in mud or filled with sand. It's so easy, even a child can use it; and they do. The Soviets put the gun on a coin. Mozambique put it on their flag. Since the end of the Cold War, the Kalashnikov has become the Russian people's greatest export. After that comes vodka, caviar, and suicidal novelists. One thing is for sure, no one was lining up to buy their cars."- Yuri Orlov

      For me, it’s about how we always unknowingly get ourselves into a loop that we swore we won’t take part in, and the speed of assembling the guns represent how some think they can change the loop, but in fact they’re still feeding it.

    Suggestion: would be interesting to have participants also wear noise canceling headphones, nose plug, and gloves to numb almost all senses. Repeat the art with a beautiful background, smell, and music to show what humanity is missing.

      The essence of the art is more in the loop and the synchronization. A group of people blindly synchronized and cycling an action on command. Speaks to peoples propensity for group think. The fact that it’s guns is the most extreme consequence of a hive mind. They are Chinese artists after all
