Behringer Hellbabe optical sensor/bypass fix

The Behringer Hellbabe wah pedal has an optical sensor that malfunctions occasionally according to several blogs. The ultimate culprit is misalignment of the opening cutout that allows the light to pass through and hit the sensor.
Some people report immediate problems. In my case, this occured suddenly after several years of intermittent use.
Problem: the nonprocessed guitar sound that the bypass allows stopped working. I would only get sound when the pedal was pressed and in use.
Cause: See above
Solution: Watch video. Felt strip attached to keep the gap in place that aligns the optical sensor in the “open” position which allows the unprocessed bypass.

Hey so the white part of my bypass timer broke so, does it affect anything?

Tengo el mismo pedal, cuando lo acciono se escucha bien, la falla viene cuando quito el pie, y la guitarra se escucha " opaca"(sin brillo), despues de unos segundos se escucha normal.. Que podrá ser?

se prende automaticamente cuando lo presionas, al dejarlo en la posicion de descanso, se apaga solo, despues de unos segundos, puedes justar cuanto se tarda en apagarse automaticamente con el potenciometro que esta en la parte de abajo del pedal, con un desarmador plano
