Really rethinking of taking Desert instead of Kourend just for that blowpipe, even if I wasn't gonna get the tier 6 of the ranged combat mastery, 16 hits with blowpipe will be super good regardless if your main style is ranged or not.
I did inferno last leagues with Justi+scythe by just praying magic, I had to do 3 jads and zuk normally with a rune crossbow tho so that was pain. You can do it ez
one thing thats obvious but worth aknowledging is that last stand gives you 9.6s of pure dps. no moving or eating required, just straight up facetanking and dpsing. so good
Totally!! Its a multipurpose relic - players who would normally not die can strategically plan their deaths for crazy dps every 3 mins, and players who would die get a little bit of a safety net.
Agreed. Someone else made a good point that you can also just die to reset it for most normal boss content. Get that up time way faster. Last stand a boss, die, tele back to the boss, last stand it again.
❤ Just a little extra context for fun: I try to get them out as soon as I can, which has been mostly dictated by my work schedule during the week + how big/small the reveal is. I think I'd prefer a set time schedule if I'm able to work that out in future leagues but just not possible this year with how things are. Does mean that vids during the week are mostly later evening central time and weekend ones will come out a few hours following the release. Probably doesn't help much now since we are almost through the daily leaks but maybe can help ya catch the last two easier. 😉
last stand is the clear winner for me, isn't even a choice. Spec weapon one might seem fun with building around it, but getting boosted 255 stats and full immunity for 16 ticks is more fun than anything a spec weapon will provide. Girlfriend relic is consistent dps but I play leagues for fun and girlfriends arent fun
2:49 I did the math and (assuming I did it correctly), Dharok's max hit would be 323 if the user has inferno cape, rancour, gloves of the damned, ultor ring, and aranea boots. With all echo hits also hitting max it comes out to 645. It's possible I might be off by a bit, as the DPS calc isn't up yet for the 255 base stats so I had to calculate this manually.
Ya really... what the heck does 255 stats even do? Like, I can't fathom how crazy that even is. I wonder if you can pot on the same tick and go over 255... probably not, I bet its an unsigned 8-bit integer. I wonder if you could do a divine combat potion and "keep" the 255 for longer though. 🤔
If total recall resets the cd of last stand, that would 100% take me off the bonkers note bandwagon. I think it’s very likely the Ferox pool will reset it, since that’s how undying retribution worked last time but I’d love to get confirmation since total recall could plausibly do it too
yup, learned that lesson the hard way last year. All that grinding for zaryte cross bow to spam click spec the rest of the game. It'd be nice if you could set it to auto spec and maybe there was a bit of a downtime or something.
I think the specialist makes total recall even better, because specialist doesnt give you faster spec regen besides the 15% per kill, if im killing killing callisto 120 times in an hour. roll total recall is still required for those grinds, and specialist complements it by increasing dps and lowering how many times you need to recall a fight. And in instances specialist will shore up the weaknesses of total recall when doing echo bosses or raids which was my main concern. I think both are required if you want to do a fully fleshed out spec build
I do think Recall+Specalist can be pretty strong. Like going from 2 BGS/Claw Specs per Recall to 5 is huge buff and can melt a lot of bosses. So depending on the instanced bosses you'll be fighting and your spec options, I think it is worth considering. I'm probably going to go Last Stand because my region lacks great specs and I don't think Horn is as useful this year since we get hybrid, but still considering Specialist.
@@D_Da_Tree I was wondering if you can Recall mid-Last Stand. Like go into Last Stand, do 4 DDS Specs, recall, do another 3 DDS specs. But it seems like stats will mostly decay after 4~ attacks anyway.

If you could toggle specs always on or somthing the Dogsword spec build would be my first choice but I think this this one is going to be too tedious. I think keeping a Dharok switch in my pocket for high burst damage in last stand sounds the most fun. I want to hit over 200 and see lucky echo chains
Feel like I'm being forced into taking last stand. Guardian would be solid but I remember what the thrall was like last time. The pathing was so bad that you would lose a lot of dps from it in various situations where it wanted to melee.
@@Lollaksyotuube It's not about personal preference. I'm confident and I would love the extra dps, it's just I don't think the thrall is going to programed well since it wasn't last time. It'd probably be more of a gain for me to just die for the stat boost if the thrall turns out to be bad.
last stand is going to be crazy good for thieving, being able to just ignore basically any downside from thieving, since it'll likely take more than 3 minutes for you to be reduced to 0 again, especially if there's something big nearby to attack also, if you're going melee, you get all of the most fun special weapons, so not taking specialist would be a sort of wasted potential
Why is no one talking about claws + spec relic? It says missed accuracy roll. Claws have 4 accuracy roles which means if you totally miss you get 40% spec back at the cost of 20%. Seems likely the most OP use of it.
I have a strong inclination that isn't how the spec will be returned. Why are you assuming you'd get 10% back for each hit? It'll just be the 10% that the relic states I would assume.

Even if it actually works like that. You'd have to brew down and unequip ur gear to get this benefit. Remember we get +100% accuracy from passive and another +100% from specialist.

I'm sad they put the special relic together with the other 2 high end relics, i wish i could get both it and last stand... Also, funny how this was not the last thing announced, there is 2 more to go, wait and watch them say you can choose a 4th region on the last day and destroy everyone's strategies XD
@ in this scenario I’m sure they would’ve made one, since lum/Karamja would still be combined you can easily just make Jad or zuk the echo boss. Or heck they can even make lum/Karamja more appealing by giving you 2 and doing something to promote newish content and having Balance Elemental from WGS be a repeatable echo boss.
I consider myself middle of the pack with pvm ability and I plan on using last stand strategically to speed up kills and to blow by harder parts of the fight like wardens p3 enraged phase
Feels like a similar choice to the Masteries. At least for Last stand vs Guardian. (I was too spoiled by last league's Spec relic to have anything but disdain for it's current iteration.) Consistently good everywhere vs Higher highs / an extremely leagues-ey feel.
@@YewJackOSRS -100% hit chance, -minimum damage (if u spec, you're at least hitting for 20% of your max) -increased spec regen (think with LB it was 2% spec per second in 15s intervals) But most importantly, last league didn't reduce spec cost, instead it gave you infinite spec's at the trade off of specs = 25 hp, it meant there was no limit on how many times you could spec.(degenerate strats' to sustain the 25 hp cost spec includes, 1.Pnecks, 2.1t karambwans, 3. just eatin with BN.)
One thing people aren't factoring with Last Stand: Yes, an issue will be dying on purpose with all the lifesteal, but you don't ever have to use ticks to panic eat food if you're running weaker defensive gear and get slapped down to 10 HP. You can continue hitting and laying out DPS. For me and the new content where I am not comfortable with the max hit range of the bosses (Zuk, etc.) this will be insane value rather than eating sharks out of fear that I may wipe.
Yes! for me my best melee gear will be blood moon and range will be unfortified masori. having the safety net behind me will reduce the stress of sol and zuk
last stand just seems busted af for the ehco bosses seeing triple jads just get taken down in seconds is crazy. can imagine the relic is just free echo boss kills every 3 minutes
Considering I'm a noob who hasn't set foot in colo or inferno (besides getting music tracks for entering), I think last stand will be mandatory. Though, another part wishes I could trade in the relic for 2 more combat mastery points and be true hybrid.
With last stand if you can spmehow finagle the passive heals from the combat masteries plus anything else to where you can 100% survive for 3 minutes before going back down to zero youre gonna be immortal, but it offers mo benefits unless you actually get that low. Which might be hard to do... with all the passive healing we get from masteries lol
let's not forget we are also getting 20% more heals from t2 passive. so you will heal for your damage which is boosted and accurate + 20% of your damage. You would have to be very unlucky to not full heal really. Now, for those that took guardian last league.. how aggressive is it? do you need to be constantly hitting for it to attack, or once it starts attacking, it will keep firing until the target is dead? Thinking for inferno/colliseum waves, can you just sit in a safe spot, and watch the guardians kill everything?
If you pick Banker's Note, I feel like picking Last Stand is counterintuitive. You have unlimited supplies to avoid dying, so Last Stand forces you to die to utilize the dps increase (outside of 1-shots like Zuk obviously). I do think Last Stand is better than Guardian, but for my current build in mind, Guardian it is.
yes and no. Im choosing bankers note because most of the bosses i will have access to are instanced, so i dont think id get much use out of TR. at this point BN is great for some skilling (either WC, Mining, or fishing,... whatever you didnt pick) and can also mean noting drops for pvm and extending trips
I do worry that they won't actually give us those this year. I feel like Slayer they'll surely give us as one of the ? relics. The clue one..... It would be nice but also that clue tele one is very very strong for clues.
@@MyNameIsSalo Its actually faster and more efficient to have f keys set up and put your spec weapon where your special bar is on the attack style menu. Always put your spec weapon 2nd row at the bottom for that reason. You can quick swap with f keys and just spec right away then back to inventory and back to main weapon almost instantly.
If it's like previous leagues, you will not have clues assigned in areas you do not have unlocked. So don't factor in clue locations into your area unlocks because you should be able to do all clues (aside from the occasional dev oversight, which they usually fix pretty quick)
If I can make it to this tier, I want to hold of on claiming it, try inferno and CoX. If I can do them without Last stand, I’ll go Specialist for more fun, but if I need last stand to beat them, then I’m fine with that! Both seem pretty fun
This is the tier with no real bad choice. it's just what is your plan and skill level. Need help learning stuff like me you're going last stand. you already mastered the game probably the guardian just for extra dps. And if you're going dogsword or wildy item special relic will be busted. Going last stand because revive was fun last year and this is better. also mort is my last region I've decided so some DH bombing will be fun for awhile.

Im stuck between last stand and the special attack relic, im going wildy,frem and Tiranwnn, last stand will really help with hunlif but i wanna spam the wildy echo weapon spec as much as possible.tough choices.
You could do both actually -- take Total Recal for the wildy weapon. A bunch of the wildy bosses aren't instanced so you can use that for the forever spec at a lot of places. Then you take Last Stand to help with those tougher boss challenges like echoes or inferno.

Im going to be playing osrs for the first time through this League (played RS3 from 2004-2022 though). Last stand will be very useful for me learning all these bosses! Plus it might synergize with the magic t6 to score a clutch kill now and again.
That and bankers note should give you lots of runway to make mistakes and learn as you go. I've been playing heavily for fours years and still plan on taking both lol
I feel bad getting dogsword and not picking Specialist. If I could toggle auto-attack specs, then maybe I'd pick it. But clicking special attack at least 5 times per fight just doesn't interest me.
I took guardian last year, found it to be pretty terrible. Can get far more value in bossing being able to burn the boss with specs or last stand giving a free life

Specialist is the worst of the three. The only weapons I would realistically use it for is DoG Sword and ZCB. Guardian and Last Stand are the best for all content. If you can spam spec down an echo boss then I'll walk back on my stance a bit but it's still bad. Weapon Master would've been better since combat masteries have built in recovery. We're missing Treasure seeker type relic, production master type relic, and either a equilibrium or ruinous prayer. It feels like they nerfed a lot of good relics by splitting up the effects of previous versions.
Edit: I'm wrong in this comment. you got the calculations wrong, it makes the spec attack 20% of what it would cost, so something that uses 50% normally is only 10%. they shown this on the reveal video
Not true. Special attacks consumer 20% of the special energy. In the video, they do miss I think two specs which means they get refunded 10% of those. Which equals a drop of 10% in special energy. That might be the confusion.
Rip lol. You can take BN and survive most boss encounters by munching down a stack of 1k sharks or something. Only thing it can't help with is 1 shot mechanics.
Last stand is OK relic, nothing special. We have insane heals already in combat realics so I'm not sure how much of use this will have but ok. Thralls - wow, a bit stronger thralls, how exciting! (useless relic). Special attack relic - You're melee? Great! It's OK relic. You're ranger/mager? Well, Jagex doesnt care that 1/3 of t8 relics is completele uselss to you. This feels so wrong when there is only one option to realisticly take and even then the said option is Meh at best.
i went with the guardian last league and man it was so good, it's really hard not picking it. But last stand tho.. Honestly feel like the stat boost makes me really, really want to pick it instead

I'm stuck between spec khopesh and DH last stand as melee WMF. Both look soo good. Max DH is 332 or 373 with salve. That's without echos

Ya, that's true. Claws can help you melt quite a few bosses within 5 specs.

Thieving is 100% chance to succeed with the relic, so I'm not sure what you're alluding to by taking Last Stand

One thing people aren't factoring with Last Stand:
Yes, an issue will be dying on purpose with all the lifesteal, but you don't ever have to use ticks to panic eat food if you're running weaker defensive gear and get slapped down to 10 HP. You can continue hitting and laying out DPS.
For me and the new content where I am not comfortable with the max hit range of the bosses (Zuk, etc.) this will be insane value rather than eating sharks out of fear that I may wipe.
Yes! for me my best melee gear will be blood moon and range will be unfortified masori. having the safety net behind me will reduce the stress of sol and zuk

last stand just seems busted af for the ehco bosses seeing triple jads just get taken down in seconds is crazy. can imagine the relic is just free echo boss kills every 3 minutes
Considering I'm a noob who hasn't set foot in colo or inferno (besides getting music tracks for entering), I think last stand will be mandatory. Though, another part wishes I could trade in the relic for 2 more combat mastery points and be true hybrid.

Granite maul against the warden heart in TOA with melee relics will absolutely shred
Also this is assuming you have liquid adrenaline. 10 attacks that fast with echo hits could potentially one shot t1 warden
With last stand if you can spmehow finagle the passive heals from the combat masteries plus anything else to where you can 100% survive for 3 minutes before going back down to zero youre gonna be immortal, but it offers mo benefits unless you actually get that low. Which might be hard to do... with all the passive healing we get from masteries lol
let's not forget we are also getting 20% more heals from t2 passive.
so you will heal for your damage which is boosted and accurate + 20% of your damage. You would have to be very unlucky to not full heal really.
Now, for those that took guardian last league.. how aggressive is it? do you need to be constantly hitting for it to attack, or once it starts attacking, it will keep firing until the target is dead?
Thinking for inferno/colliseum waves, can you just sit in a safe spot, and watch the guardians kill everything?
and what if they allow it to over heal? and your using something like dharok to hit with. imagine having 1200 hp? lol

If you pick Banker's Note, I feel like picking Last Stand is counterintuitive. You have unlimited supplies to avoid dying, so Last Stand forces you to die to utilize the dps increase (outside of 1-shots like Zuk obviously). I do think Last Stand is better than Guardian, but for my current build in mind, Guardian it is.
yes and no. Im choosing bankers note because most of the bosses i will have access to are instanced, so i dont think id get much use out of TR. at this point BN is great for some skilling (either WC, Mining, or fishing,... whatever you didnt pick) and can also mean noting drops for pvm and extending trips

Master specialist will get tedious clicking special bar after a while. Wish it had an auto special attack feature.
you can click the orb next to the map showing your spec energy. Think its one of the default runelite plugins
@@MyNameIsSalo Its actually faster and more efficient to have f keys set up and put your spec weapon where your special bar is on the attack style menu. Always put your spec weapon 2nd row at the bottom for that reason. You can quick swap with f keys and just spec right away then back to inventory and back to main weapon almost instantly.

If it's like previous leagues, you will not have clues assigned in areas you do not have unlocked. So don't factor in clue locations into your area unlocks because you should be able to do all clues (aside from the occasional dev oversight, which they usually fix pretty quick)
If I can make it to this tier, I want to hold of on claiming it, try inferno and CoX. If I can do them without Last stand, I’ll go Specialist for more fun, but if I need last stand to beat them, then I’m fine with that!

This is the tier with no real bad choice. it's just what is your plan and skill level. Need help learning stuff like me you're going last stand. you already mastered the game probably the guardian just for extra dps. And if you're going dogsword or wildy item special relic will be busted. Going last stand because revive was fun last year and this is better. also mort is my last region I've decided so some DH bombing will be fun for awhile.
Ya, DH will be really fun with last stand. I think it'll also help a ton on the echo bosses.

You can speed run ToA and ToB with nothing but T6 dharoks with Last Stand. Except for maybe the nilo room.

Im stuck between last stand and the special attack relic, im going wildy,frem and Tiranwnn, last stand will really help with hunlif but i wanna spam the wildy echo weapon spec as much as possible.tough choices.

You could do both actually -- take Total Recal for the wildy weapon. A bunch of the wildy bosses aren't instanced so you can use that for the forever spec at a lot of places. Then you take Last Stand to help with those tougher boss challenges like echoes or inferno.

Im going to be playing osrs for the first time through this League (played RS3 from 2004-2022 though). Last stand will be very useful for me learning all these bosses! Plus it might synergize with the magic t6 to score a clutch kill now and again.
That and bankers note should give you lots of runway to make mistakes and learn as you go. I've been playing heavily for fours years and still plan on taking both lol
Ya, I didn't mention it in here but 255 magic level will boost your max hit quite a lot on either the shadow or any of the charged staves.

I feel bad getting dogsword and not picking Specialist. If I could toggle auto-attack specs, then maybe I'd pick it. But clicking special attack at least 5 times per fight just doesn't interest me.

I took guardian last year, found it to be pretty terrible. Can get far more value in bossing being able to burn the boss with specs or last stand giving a free life
I do think last stand is going to be more fun for the various combos you can do with it.

Specialist is the worst of the three. The only weapons I would realistically use it for is DoG Sword and ZCB. Guardian and Last Stand are the best for all content. If you can spam spec down an echo boss then I'll walk back on my stance a bit but it's still bad. Weapon Master would've been better since combat masteries have built in recovery. We're missing Treasure seeker type relic, production master type relic, and either a equilibrium or ruinous prayer. It feels like they nerfed a lot of good relics by splitting up the effects of previous versions.

you got the calculations wrong, it makes the spec attack 20% of what it would cost, so something that uses 50% normally is only 10%. they shown this on the reveal video
Not true. Special attacks consumer 20% of the special energy. In the video, they do miss I think two specs which means they get refunded 10% of those. Which equals a drop of 10% in special energy. That might be the confusion.

Rip lol. You can take BN and survive most boss encounters by munching down a stack of 1k sharks or something. Only thing it can't help with is 1 shot mechanics.
Last stand is OK relic, nothing special. We have insane heals already in combat realics so I'm not sure how much of use this will have but ok. Thralls - wow, a bit stronger thralls, how exciting! (useless relic). Special attack relic - You're melee? Great! It's OK relic. You're ranger/mager? Well, Jagex doesnt care that 1/3 of t8 relics is completele uselss to you. This feels so wrong when there is only one option to realisticly take and even then the said option is Meh at best.
i went with the guardian last league and man it was so good, it's really hard not picking it. But last stand tho.. Honestly feel like the stat boost makes me really, really want to pick it instead
