This is one of my favorite movies. I watched this movie so many times. This is a true classic! Another movie I watched over again is Crooklyn and Polly with Keisha Knight and Phylicia Rashad. Those were my movies! They don't make them like they used to.
I'm so glad to see people who enjoy Double Platinum and view it as a favorite like I do. They really don't make movies like they used to. The feelings that these older movies bring are unmatched. It had been a few years since I watched Double Platinum and as I watching, I realized that I knew the movie like the back of my hand. Crooklyn and Polly are true classics
Olivia showed deep deep sincere motherly love for Baby Olivia. I think that she left her until age 18 for two reasons. She knew that she would be taken better care of her than she could traveling on the road. The second and larger reason, in my opinion, is that she knew she had broken her husband's heart, even though he was being stubborn and a bit jealous, because he didn't make it. I don't think she wanted him to lose both big loves of his life.🤷
Olivia definitely showed sincere motherly love for Kayla. One of the many things that I enjoy about the film is that it's real and authentic. I would expect an abandoned child to respond the way Kayla did and I would expect a parent trying to gain access into their child's life and heart to act the way Olivia did. Desiring a relationship so badly yet giving space for the child to forgive. This movie just gets it. In the best of ways. I do agree that Olivia knew that Adam would take care of Kayla and provide her with normalcy that she couldn't provide
