- I wanted to go a more natural route with the products I retwist my hair with, so I decided to try flaxseed gel since I've heard so much about it. I oiled my scalp and my locs before applying the gel to retwist my hair. My results were great and I plan to continue using it in my hair. I'll keep you all updated. This gel can also be used to style loose natural hair as well. I hope you enjoy!!
What you'll need:
Whole golden flaxseeds
Raw honey
Water
Knee high stockings
Recipe:
1/4 cup whole golden flaxseeds
2 cups water
1 spoonful of raw honey
Mix ingredients and store up to two weeks in refrigerator!

Are you still using this recipe? I’m wanting to try this recipe because my husband’s hair needs a bit more hold than the regular aloe or flaxseed gels have. Does the honey help with that?

I feel like flaxseed gel caused a bunch of build up in mine and my families hair. I only use oil/ to retwist now but I miss the sleekness of the flaxseed get retwist. I made mine with glycerine, tea tree oil, and flaxseed. Anyone else experience this? I’d love to try it again
Hi I didn’t experience any build up with this method but I didn’t do it for an extended period. My go to is Cantus styles by Angela retwisting gel it makes my retwist way easier for me when it comes to parting and I like the hold. Outside of that inbetween I’ll do a soft retwist with rose water and oil as well.
I love flaxseed gel but I never put honey in it. I’m too scared lol
