7:43 Is it on purpose or an accident that the last leaf/string/key of the Kalimba is mounted at a different height compared to the others on the left? Do you notice? The easiest way to see it is to look at the LETTER - NUMBER line, which is made up of adjacent ones. The markings "D" and "2" on the last one do not line up with the others. Likewise, the top end visible above the clamp is out of line compared to the others. Maybe the manufacturer has messed up in putting it together?

My favorite part was watching you play the Kalimba because your nails are so short. Most beginners accidentally hit the wrong keys with their thumbs, turns out we're supposed to hit the keys with the nails of our thumbs. But you still played the Kalimba beautifully!!! Also love hearing both instruments being played.

Really enjoyed the video! I enjoy the neutral setting and the ultimately calm, chill vibe - a soothing experience.

The audio quality on this is absolutely spectacular. Your voice and the instruments are both so lovely.

Thank you so much! I made sure to use one of my Rode NT1-A condenser mics (which is use for my harp recordings) so that my voice would come through clearly. I actually even used a singing straw before recording this so my voice would be smoother 😅

May I compliment a random aspect of this video?
There is a great screen transition between the end of the original song segment and the closing portion. Your face stay on almost the same place within the frame, and you blended the two scenes together in a very eye catching way. I had to say something about it

I’ve been playing the piano for a while, and the question that keeps popping into my head is this: why do we need keys to play the strings, when we can just play the strings themselves? Having to press the keys in order to play the notes can be difficult sometimes, as it’s very easy to hit wrong ones accidentally. With a harp, though, that’s no longer a problem, as you _do_ in fact have access to the strings directly, and therefore, you can be much more expressive and hit far fewer wrong notes! Not to mention the fact that a harp can be very relaxing to play! That’s why I bought that exact lyre harp on Amazon a few days ago, and it’ll be arriving this Saturday! Can’t wait to play it for the first time!
And yes, I’m aware that tuning a lyre harp can be a nightmare (as many people on Amazon have pointed out), but by being careful and doing it slowly, it can be done without any broken strings. And that’s exactly the way I plan on doing it.

I'm glad you did this video. I LOVE MUSIC, and there are many I want to play, but the problem was deciding which to learn first. These 2 I want to learn the most. Mainly because of a disabilty the instrument can't be too heavy. Also like that they''re both portable, inexpensive, and sounds and looks amazing. I just orderdered a Kalimba tody, it will be here tomorrow. However, the Lyre will be the next instrument I will learn to play. if fact, I've subscribed to UA-cam channels that have lessons on both instruments, and took notes on what i should remember as a beginner. About your Kalimba playing, I am very impressed. Most complain that they accidentally hit the wrong keys with their thumbs. Turns out, we're suposed to let our thumb nails grow longer (doesn't have to be too long) and hit the keys with the thumbnails. But you played it beautifully and your nails are very short.
I have a feeling though, that you prefer the Lyre. About myself, I know that I will love both, but seeing as I'm learning the Kalimba first, I'll probably lean more towards the Kalimba. :D
