Loving how Gaijin seems to be coming back in full force for this generation. And doing it in a way none of the other Hunter channels do. No repetition of news, or long speculations of tiny clips or development updates. Instead, it’s deep lore and monster information.
I have already thanked you for your contributions on X, but I would like to thank you again. You are a very important part of the western monster hunter community. I am grateful for your Monster Hunter content! :)
I prefer this script! That original was talking nonesense, almost like the writer never hunted themselves 🤨 "..hunt to keep the balance of Nature" ...nah Ridley, we hunt to protect ourselves so we can profit via fashion and trophies I know my own reasons when I hunt. I never hunted Lagombis more than I had to because they so darn cute, but to say I didnt hunt for fashion, is just pretending I am not a savage human I'm a hunter from the past Unite (PSP), MH3U (Wii U), MH4U (N3DSXL) MHGeneration (Switch), MHWorld (PS4) MHRise (N.Switch) ...and when the Wild winds blow, I'll be hunting again ...I miss some of my old weapon designs though. I want to go back to those guilds and use them again
Gaijin, you have never replied my comments but I am a big fan of the game and yours, I started my love with freedom unite and I have bought nintendo consoles just to be able to play monster hunter (I'm not doing it again) now I am more cautious but I'm definitely jumping into the new installment. I want to also say, I miss the old music from the psp era, when I feel depressed I always watch freedom unite intro just for the fanfare. Peace!
Conspirationists not realising the Guild is what keeps humanity safe smh I mean, of course someone will be corrupt from time to time, but blaming the entire system is unfair (I'm loving this)
@@RicochetForce yet they have still survived. They aren’t living in constant fear for no reason, they are prey animals in this ecosystem, and nothing has disrupted that balance until we come along
@@Ashamran They survived by running and hiding. They are definitely not thriving like we see in pretty much every other settlement elsewhere where hunting happens. They are absolutely going to accept the guild's presence and training for hunters. To go from their current way of life to being able to nip threats in the bud? They're jumping at that opportunity.
Screw the guild, they post quests to further their own interests above the ones of common villagers! They've denied many requests that are necessary for so many to survive! Many die every day from lack of dromesulin! We need more heroes like Gaijini Hunterone who will stand up against the guild!
"Watch, learn, and listen to creatures and environments around them", this aspect is what I missed in the original. Hunters don't just depart and slay beasts. We learn about a monster's behavior, inspect and memorize the locales and the fruits they bear, and won't raid the landscape aimlessly. I love hearing you geeking out like this ❤
I actually had the opposite idea-- instead of the Guild being mega shady, the in-universe Daisy Ridley propaganda video was created to capture young people and trap them into joining the guild, but then once they're signed up, they slowly realize: "Wait, what? We're herding Popo and collecting dung samples to check the health of the herds? I thought we were gonna be doing backflips and fighting dragons..."
Agreed, well said, the propaganda of the guild is really sketchy and "shady" for sure. Even as a marketing tactic, Ridley did a great job, but the details of the guild's purpose have always been irrelevant. Im starting to think having a potential sleeper agent handler follow me wherever I go, might just be a bad thing lol. Good to see you back Gaijin!!!
Theres a lot of ppl fighting if Rise is better than World or the other way around, both are good games, but there was something that Rise wasnt able to give us, and Wilds is doing it, the come back of GaijinHunter
I wish there was a novel adaptation of the games. I would love to read that. This script for the video they made, albeit slightly tweaked, would make for a great opening chapter for a meaty 120,000 word long novel.
Moga Village had the best final boss! Change my mind! Justice for Ceadeus! Bring back underwater combat so we can pay respect to the emperor of the Sea!!!!

I'm still sad that Capcom removed player action setting.... I liked having gen 4 controls in gen 5... and now I'm forced to use gen 5 controls in wilds...
Good video; I wholeheartedly agree that the Daisy Ridley one feels like propaganda, and that it feels kinda off for an ostensibly scienctific and protection-based organisation. However, I also think that's kinda the point (at least for existing fans; for potential new hunters it's a great ad voiced by an A-list celebrity); I only started in World, but even there the Guild feels mostly about science and protection (and I've subsequently checked out the lore of prior games). The man in the office that gives us our asignment in Wilds doesn't read like a chief scientist or community defender; he reads like a captain of industry, someone who owns dirty factories that maim their workers, because clean and safe operation lowers the profits. It feels like the Guild has been taken over by those who would exploit it, as all such organisations inevitably are. And whilst I agree with Rurikhan about almost every gameplay take he has, I think he's spot on with what has happened to the Guild and why the second team is with us. I think for at least this game, and possibly the next few, the Guild themselves are gonna be pretty evil, though I think we'll always play and mostly be surrounded by true idealists who believe in the Guild of old (and get shipped off to the furthest reaches of the world to keep them out of the way of the evil). And whilst I also think the Guild will be cleansed back to the side of science and community defense, it's gonna be a background narrative or be explored in other media, keeping the MH games as (fantasy, because let's face it, they aren't going for realism here, and they shouldn't) hunting sims.
People call you crazy but I largely had the same feelings about the original video's tone and language, though not necessarily from the in universe perspective; I mainly feel this way about how the actually developers/writers are framing the themes of the series; the emphasis being placed more on this idea of humanity being "caretakers" of nature, hunters being 'really strong killers of monsters' as you put it feel off base to me. I don't necessarily think this is alluding to in game world building though, I feel like this is just how the developers have subtly shifted the emphasis of monster hunter's themes from survival against an unforgiving natural world to controlling and protecting the natural world from itself. And I feel like this shift is mainly in response to the shift in gameplay and the way more modern games have increasingly given more power to the players; moving away from the survivalist gameplay elements and leaning more into the action elements that have made hunting and the monsters therein feel a little less daunting to players, which in turn subtly creates a different attitude towards the world and the themes it's trying to convey.
It's not quite anti-Guild propaganda. More like advocating for diminished Guild involvementt in a hunter's life. Perhaps he's a Libertarian. Edit: Maybe the heavy emphasis on balance in the original will set up a story conflict in Wilds where the new land is out of balance. The imbalanced state has been there for so long it has become the norm. Does the hunter restore the old balance? What about the creatures and people who have adapted to the imbalance? I think the Guild may be walking in with their usual short-sighted good intentions and not understand. Will they have a broad enough mind to accept that imbalance and imperfection has its own beauty? Will we encounter the heirs of an ancient civilization that threw things out of balance? And will they make the Guild look like Boy Scouts?
Idc what you or the guild say! Monsters aren't animals or killing machines! ... They're all a bunch of douchebags! And I hunt with nothing but a big toilet plunger!
much more reasonable version afaik while still conveying the same sentiment, but yea often enough when something like this is produced with a high budget certain things like wording will get changed to make the video sound more grandiose than what the original intent was. So that the video actually sounds cool and brings in new players exited to play the game, even if it's kinda missing the mark. But yea, I also hope they don't go too deep on the guild stuff and just focus on what's actually happening since it can easily ruin our way we all think about the world.

Somehow gaijin hunter returned...
I can feel gaijin controlling his hate for the guild in every word, like when a child is tearful mad and he says he's not mad
This is anti-guild propaganda!
We should call the guild to take this down I think they will reward us
