LMFAO Shufflebot Halloween costume head lights

- This is a lighting demo for my Halloween costume. It is of the robot character often found accompanying LMFAO live and in videos. This version was based on the version seen in the Party Rock Anthem video but with my own spin. The real one has four LEDs in each eye flashing back and forth. I decided to put eight LEDs in each eye and have each row addressable. I originally wanted to have each light individual but did't to save time. Everything runs off of an Arduino Uno (programmable controller). The head currently runs through six lighting patterns. The first three were based on some tutorial code while the last three are my own. The final pattern spells out "Party Rock" in Morse Code. We had a significant snow storm in the north east US which canceled my Halloween plans. Many parties were rescheduled so I will likely tweak the existing program and add a few more programs before heading out again. Despite running sixteen lights through a micro-controller, it will run for about twelve hours off of a single 9v battery.

Wow...love the lights :o!!
2 minutes of my life i will never get back...
i realy love all of it
Love the Shoes!
That's something I've wanted to do but just can't find the time. The costume is still together so hopefully I can do that in the future. Sorry for the wait.
@JoeyBreaks Thank you! I needed something to do while waiting for the paint to dry before putting the lights into the head.
i like the part when the robot blings hes eyes in a line form....wait a moment..
Awesome.
Actually, that was some chain left over from a chandelier I had installed. I would imagine you can find something suitable at any hardware store.
thats beast
@kimonosandkilts The lights were all from scratch. I bought an Arduino starter kit (easy to find online) which included the Arduino unit, prototyping breadboard, and a variety of components with directions to get you started. With that I figured out the circuit how to program it. I have a programming background so it wasn't too bad once I saw how everything works. The lights are mounted through cardboard and encased in hot glue to hold them and prevent it from shorting from excessive shuffling.
@ninjapro505 Thanks! I hope to program a few more lighting patterns before the weekend.
@kimonosandkilts you can buy the lights at a bicycle shop or a car accessories shop...they have lots of options
@victortito1234 You can buy official shoes and necklace from the band I believe. Since this was a Halloween costume I made mine. I drew the heart in Photoshop and printed it on card stock. After gluing it to cardboard I cut out both layers by hand (took WAY too long) and covered it with clear contact paper. The chain was extra from a lighting fixture I had hanging around. The shoes are the cheapest white loafers I could by. I drew the text on with a black marker while waiting for the gold to dry
Super
COOL
@djxquizet I know you can buy official shoes from LMFAO's clothing brand. As this was for a Halloween costume I made them by finding the cheapest loafers I could and drawing on them with a black marker. There's a good closeup of them in the video for Sexy and I Know it.
buy any random shoes like that in white and get a sharpie and write party rock on them
@LMFAO5691 heh... actually, I did a lot of programming work to the lights and it is WAY better than the version seen above. I added some new patterns as well as rewriting some of the existing ones. The result is a lot quicker/smoother and just more entertaining to watch with faster transitions. As far as construction goes I built the box based on dimension assumptions made from watching the Party Rock video. There is a bicycle helmet inside to allow complete head movement.
@LMFAO5691 If i have some time over the weekend I'll make a video to show what's going on inside.
