    Penny was such an elite point guard footwork, athleticism,height,speed,wingspan, it's no wonder no defense could stop him he was a major problem before injuries and Shaq was so dominate in this era so was the Admiral 90's basketball was next level and the Worm was a rebound machine and a defense wizard.

      @ericvelasquez Penny’s career was hampered by injuries after Shaq left. If you watch the 30 for 30 about the magic, Shaq himself said he and Penny were Shaq and Kobe before Shaq and Kobe. He also admitted that he would’ve stayed in Orlando if he had a second chance. Penny’s style of basketball was a perfect compliment to Shaq. While Penny could score, he preferred to pass and he was always happy to pass the ball to Shaq in the post. Shaq admitted that he didn’t like playing with ball-centric guys like Kobe and D-Wade later on in his career

      Shaq always struggled with Robinson until Robinson’s back injury.
      Robinson was a tough match up for Shaq. The spurs would clear out the side of the court that Robinson was on and let him go one on one with Shaq. Because Robinson had handles as a guard he could iso Shaq and blow past him for a dunk or layup. Robinson didn’t have great post moves but he had an explosive first step, could run the floor, shoot the face up jumper, move without the ball and he had elite handles. He had the best handles (him and Hakeem) for a center and even today would have the best handles for a center.

    I love watching Rodman highlights more so than any other NBA player, including Jordan, Bird, and Magic (and I do enjoy me some Jordan, Bird, and Magic highlights). B
    But Rodman, man oh man, he was such a joy to watch. His hustle, his absolute determination to grab every single rebound he could, the STYLE he had when he did rebound (he made rebounding LOOK cool), and all the other little things he would do when he was out there on the court. 👍

    • @TrentonO3000
      @TrentonO3000 Рік тому +11

      He had a mental breakdown in the playoffs. The Spurs were the #1 seed playing #6 Houston and Rodman just started flipping out on his coach and team during the middle of games and refused to help Robinson guard Olajuwon, even though Hakeem was pretty much impossible for anyone to guard 1-on-1. So Hakeem went off and Robinson pretty much got the blame for the rest of his career even though it was mostly Rodman's sabotage. The Spurs likely would have won the title that year if Rodman didn't flip the psycho switch. That's why the Spurs pretty much gave him to the Bulls for nothing for the next season.

      The Bulls will only push through the trade with Jordan and Pippen's consent.
      Dennis Rodman was part of the Bad Boys and the intense Bulls-Pistons rivalry (1988-91) remains fresh and personal.
      Phil Jackson listed Rodman as one of must-haves in the 1995 offseason to reinforce the frontline against Shaq. Knowing Rodman's antics very well, the Bulls also signed close pal Jack Haley while added John Salley and James Edwards to give that "Bad Boys" vibe (again, permitted by Jordan and Pippen).
      Then-GM Pop was that desperate to get rid of Dennis. And if there were other takers, he might wisely sent him to either of those teams except Chicago.
