Nice talk on RV slides. I wish you would talk more about the maintenance of Accu-Slide cable system. I watched your repair video on these styles of slides. Excellent video and it saved my butt. My cables were developing the dreaded twist, but I caught it before damage was done, thanks to you.

Thank you Darren. You answered the question I put in your comment section from your previous video. I immediately lubed the portion of the schwintek rack you mentioned right after you said to lube it. Thank you again.

Yaaaaaaaa, for the slide lube demo. I hope conditions were good. I just asked a few days or a week ago for that. As I was confused looking at your very detailed schwintek videos, where the tracks and H columns were not attached, about what I should see in an operational room. But then the very next time I put my room in, it did not sound completely normal. Then when I put it out again a day later it was not sounding right either. So it was neat to hear Darrin also describe that listening scenario, although I have never played the violin. 😁So... the TL;DR.... I think I got most of the lube right. As my slide sounds better than ever. And I think there is even a little extra hitch in the giddy up, as the slide is moving. Seams smoother and a little faster

Interesting Teflon™ is a brand name for PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) and is a trademark brand name used by the Du Pont company and its subsidiary companies (Kinetic which first registered the trademark & Chemours which currently owns.

Hi Darren, several weeks ago I posted a question that my schwintek controller was giving a 6 flash error code when the slide retracted. You suggested I pull the motor and bench test. When I inspected the motor I noticed the four threaded motor pins were not fully seated in the bearing block and the motor was tilted a bit. When I removed the outside motor retention screw the motor dropped fully into the bearing block. The motor was not fully seated which caused the motor retention screw to miss the motor slot and bind the motor.
I put the motor retention screw back in and confirmed the motor was captured and fully seated. This corrected my error code. I cycled the slide approximately a dozen times and no more code.

Thanks again for all the good info. In lubricating the wheels under the slide, I assume the slide is out to be able to pull back seal and hit the wheel with lube? My shoes thank you for the tips too.

Great instructions but your video would be greatly enhanced if you had photos of the locations to lubricant.

Back in 2018, LCI personnel sprayed CRC on my slide mechanisms at a Grand Design Rally to lubricate and quiet them down. I’m a believer in it.

If a slide is dirty (dust, wind-blown sand), what about using a carb cleaner product to blast it clean -- let it dry -- and then lube with the recommended PTFE? I think that carb parts are often aluminum? Shouldn't hurt anything? Makes good sense to me to make sure the tracks are clean each time *before* bringing the slides in.

Thanks for making these videos! Have you ever addressed a creaking noise by the top motor when traveling down the road? It seems my motor might be rubbing against my slide. No issues with the slide going in or out

Hello again, Darren. Regarding your recommendation for using the CRC Power Lube Industrial High Performance Lubricant with PTFE, I see that there is also a similar product, "CRC Dry PTFE Lube". Would this be a suitable substitution? (I'm wondering if this version of CRC's PTFE lube would be better in the Schwintek's track because it doesn't attrack dust/debris in contrast to a wet PTFE spray (CRC's words/explanation).

I can just say that we've been using the CRC Power Lube with PTFE - in the green CAN - for years and have had absolutely no problems, complaints, or callbacks after using it. So I'm going to stick with that one. Lubricating with that has resolved so many issues on more than just the slide system... I do use the dry PTFE on my CNC machines in my production shop. And don't have any problems with it in that application, but those machines are not under as much stress as slide components.

What about the rollers that a Schwintek system room slides on, is there a lubricant for the rollers. Also the bottom of my slide has marks where the rollers ride. It looks like the roller is not rolling and the room bottom skids on the roller surface. Any fix for this?
