    I'm reading a lot of comments of young wiccas, that live with their parents and don't know how to hide it
    My parents are catholic and what I do is I keep my wand and black salt on a clean fabric piece, my candles I just keep them showing because it's just "decoration" and with my herbs or plants I say that is for keep my room smelling nice! And my book of shadows is below many notebooks that I have, and all my spell work I do it at night
    Good luck my fellow witches 🔮

    Starting your circle in the east is terrific. Good job! 🦊 That is the traditional, and correct direction for constructing a circle. North is appropriate at times, but south and west are never acceptable. It should be noted that closing a circle is done in opposition to east. The circle is always deconstructed in the west. (The direction of sunsets and endings.) Be well, be wise, and stay safe.

    • @izzyyellowhair7117
      @izzyyellowhair7117 5 років тому +7

      That is sound correct tho..that I am Native American tho how going clock wise is a rite way to do ceremonies and prayers in my Tradition east to south to west to north..in circle

    • @UhtredOfBamburgh

      Why is South never acceptable to you? ...For me I always point things North since winter gives me energy and summer saps it

      I start in the East as well. Sun rises here, day begins. I'm Meso American/Mexican flavored brujo so medicine wheel teachings are part of my Craft. I do "cast" circles in reverse (counter clockwise) occasionally too

    I appreciate this series so much! I recently became Wiccan 4 months ago, however I still live at my family's house so I haven't been able to fully immerse myself into it as much as I'd like such as an alter, a garden, rituals, circles, book of shadows etc. Instead, I'm trying to study as much as I can and learn about everything as much as possible so that when I move out in a few months I will be fully ready!! This series helps a LOT. Love you harmony xxx

      Cat Leiker Maybe you cancset an alter in your closet? And you can cast a Circle with salt or chalk. Easy to conceal the chalk with an area rug or sweep away the salt when finished.

      kim mcdonald oooh thank you!!! I will do that!! It's not so much a lack of privacy, it's more that I've found I can get a lot more into my practice when I'm alone and surrounded by only my energies, as opposed to being surrounded by my family at all times and having to intake their energies and vibes as well it's a bit harder to fully be there if that makes any sense?? But thank you for the advice!! I'm putting it in my journal

    • @maddrawer8497
      @maddrawer8497 7 років тому +13

      Hide your book of shadows under the matress or on a full bookcase. I keep my wand in a compartment in my bed, and I do the same with my herbs. I practice at night on tile and hardwood floors. I'm In the brook closet as well, and understand the struggle! I'm very lucky because my library actually has an ancient book of shadows recorded in the history section, but in your case, the internet is very usefull! I reccomend clearing your browser history after looking for spell and ritual help tho!
      Blessed Be, Hope.

    Happy Litha! I've found lately the more simple the spell the more powerful it is. I wrote a sigil saying "I will no longer have to worry about money". I burned the sigil in a sea shell and then poured the ashes in a river, and scooped up the water and poured it while saying "I will no longer have to worry about money, by the power of three times three, make it be, so more it be." I forgot about the spell (which is important to do, but also difficult) I find that forgetting about it leaves it to the universe to do it from there. Two weeks later we got a phone call that we are getting a trust fund of 180k and 10k a year for the next 10 years plus the interest

    I'm in to Wicca , I love the idea of pretty much worshipping nature and all it has to offer but my mom is sorta strict when it come to believing in these sorts of things, she thinks it all has to do with evil spirits and the devil,
    I'm starting out with crystals because I'm drawn to them , I recently went to a crystal shop and they had some tarot cards which I wanted to buy but my mom said no bc they are used to contact spirits , she told me to never use them or a ouji board, so of course I have to listen after all I'm only 13 but I will most likely get into this stuff more when I'm old enough to move out. I like exploring things and Wicca draws me in so I would love to learn more about the religion 😌

      When you reach the age just before colledge, talk to her about it. Tell her that the pentacle represents the elements, apt that wicca is peacfull and about nature and harmony, and that they beleive in no evil. Tell her about the wiccan rede.

    • @soda1850
      @soda1850 7 років тому +33

      My mother is very spiritual and she is the one I get it from but she is also very strict about those things and i'm not sure what she thinks about me becoming a wiccan lol. But please listen to her when it comes to ouji boards, they are very negative and can bring in evil spirits - never use those! Tarot cards on the other hand are safe, just read up on how to use them. You could always practice wicca without telling your mom as it is a safe and very positive religion as long as you do it right so study it carefully. Some magic is considered black magic which is not allowed within wiccanism and will in general wether you're a wiccan or not bring you bad karma. Don't listen to the stuff about the devil and evil spirits... wiccans don't even believe in the devil really and you cannot lure evil spirits in as long as you close the circle after a ritual and make sure to call on deities and/or your spiritual guides for protection before a ritual so never forget to do those things.

      You took the words right out of my mouth! As a wiccan in the broom closet, how did you tell your parents?
      I am 14 so it is a frightening thought. I have been practicing in secret for 5 years, and have learned so much. But when it comes time for me to tell them... I just don't know what I should say. Any tips?

    • @susan4912

      You could totally start off with runes rather than tarot cards! Runes are easy-ish to make and extremely easy to hide if needed. If you have access to wood or clay you can use you can make your own and it'll help you become more connected with your runes.

      Chloe Betts absolutely it is. When you have questions like that it’s more than okay to ask, but the moment someone says something has to be done a certain way out up a filter. Lol. Decorate your garden path in any way you want. The way that works is the way that gives you results. My best friend and I practice magick very differently. Yes it then requires us to plan cooperative spells in ways we both have power in, but we love our differences. We will sometimes challenge eachother to creat a completely unique spell for a specific purpose and we will be enthralled at how differently we both went about working the magick. It’s such a great way to show off your individuality. It keeps your magick lucrative and always expanding. If you feel your power being ignited by speaking with your mind rather than your mouth. Embrace that! Keep adding those aspects and build your beautiful path

      Luna Charles youre cat is probably your familiar. :) if your cat is constantly drawn to you when you practice, cast a circle, or do stone work most likely that is your familiar. Animals and children can pass through circles without disturbing it, they are giving their energy to help. They don't have the same mental state as us. They aren't as limited as we are. So it's totally safe.

    Hey, not wiccan but am a practicing witch. I have been in a serious witchcraft slump because I thought I needed a bunch of space to cast my circles for my workings. I learned to cast a circle by walking it, which you can't do in a tiny apartment. But the area you're working in in this video is just like my altar space. Watching this video made a light bulb go off. I do can what I need to do even in a small space. Duh!! Thank you for sharing!

    I know many people say that you do not have to perform witchcraft or spells to be Wiccan but with a lot of research I have yet to find books or information that gives you an idea of what a Wiccan's values and I guess you could say rules to go by so I guess what I am trying to ask is do you know of any books that mainly focuses on the history and rules that a Wiccan goes by that way I can learn more about the religion itself instead of just learning spells

      Wiccan creed is And Harm None. Meaning never do anything to or cast against someone else to harm them.

    • @daddy8092
      @daddy8092 7 років тому +3

      NikkyDicePara Actually, this is a misconception. Rede means “advice” so it is not a rule. The Wiccan read is harm none, do as ye will. But many think it’s an unfinished quite- “an it harm none, do as ye will. An it harm, do as ye must.” Wicca actually allows curses and hexes, it’s not against the “rules.” Another reason Wiccans abstain from curses and negative witchcraft is that in Wicca everything you put out to the world will come back times 3. So even if you do curse, which is allowed, it will come back upon you 3 times worse.
      I’m not Wiccan, I just practice witchcraft. I have done many curses and negative witchcraft and because I do not believe it will come back to me, it does not.

      saisho There really aren’t any. There’s certain sects of Wicca that have certain rules, and then there’s just... Wicca. To be considered an actual Wiccan (doesn’t mean you can’t call yourself one before this) you have to practice and celebrate all of the Sabbats.

      plastic beach that's a nice thought, but witchcraft directly conflicts with Christianity, (look up Galatians 5:19-21), not to mention the history between Christians and witches. I won't say what I believe now, because a lot has changed - but I grew up Christian and was definitely taught the "dangers" of witchcraft - so much so that many of my friends weren't even allowed to watch Snow White or Harry Potter because of the magic involved.
      Fun fact, it is possible to be Buddhist and Christian simultaneously without conflict!

Things can be a little nerve wracking when they are new, but don't let fear hold you back from pursuing something you are interested in that could bring good into your life. Also, its ok not to have all the answers. Part of the journey and joy of life comes from exploring things we don't understand.

    As someone who enjoys studying religion, I feel like Wicca revolves a lot around "paraphernalia", if you will. A lot of objects that you need to buy in order to do certain things. Is there a way of getting around this? If you aren't willing to spend all your money on different items just to do one specific thing.

    • @lovebug_taffy2263
      @lovebug_taffy2263 7 років тому

      Sophie S. usually you would make something to represent a certain object (wand etc) and you don't necessarily need all of these objects

    • @lunanova369
      @lunanova369 7 років тому +8

      Sophie S. Absolutely! Do not feel you need to buy all those items to be a better witch. In fact, when you make your own tools, they're often MORE potent/special because you made it with your own two hands and put all that magical intent/vibrations into it. Make your own wand out of a stick you found and beads, string, crystals, & rocks, or go to the thrift shop to find cheap tools like makeshift offering bowls, cauldrons (any metal bowl/small pot), candle holders, candles, athame (any pointy metal object), chalices (any ceremonial cup), mortar & pestle, etc. (I've found ALL of these at thrift stores!) Find your herbs for dirt cheap in bulk at the Dollar Store, or Middle Eastern/Mexican markets (or any market!). Garage sales are great too for finding old tables/stands to use as altars. There are so many ways to be a witch on a budget! Don't let lack of funds discourage you from trying. ☺️

    • @MinamAden
      @MinamAden 7 років тому +3

      I've personally spent maybe $100 in the 15 years I've practiced. The majority of items can be made. My athame is actually carved from a tree branch, since it is not meant to physically cut anything, this works wonderfully for me. My wand is also a small tree branch, seashells for a libation bowl and salt dish. Candle holders carved from wood, a handmade clay incense burner, homegrown herbs and spices (grown on a windowsill because I live in a shoebox apartment) regular $1 wine glass for a chalice. sticks and twine to make a pentacle. Crystals are honestly the most expensive thing, but even many of those can be harvested from nature if you know what to look for. Or you can find a different spell that fits your need better. Wicca is beautiful in that it is so fluid and flexible.

    • @scadosko
      @scadosko 6 років тому

      Scott Cummingham (probs spelt it wrong) wrote an amazing book on Wicca, he explains that to practice Wicca you don’t need anything but a connection to the elements and the God and Goddess. Candles, wands, etc... are all there and can be used to enhance your witchcraft and do different types of witchcraft (candle magic, potions, colour magic, etc...) as well as mentioned above (or below idk) making your own often is preferred
