I feel so sorry for Madame. She is the most innocent soul in this series. She never encouraged Farya to commit any crime, always gave good suggestions to her and was good to everyone. A kind, considerate soul! She is even kind to the daughter of Farya's enemy. She doesn't hold grudges to anyone. But she suffered the loss of her beloved princess, and now she lost Farya's children! I am so sad for her. 😢

I've never been so hooked on a series that's this long both in length of series and number of episodes. The fact it's mostly/partially based on real life events made it more interesting. If those palace walls could talk now, what a stories it would tell it's visitors!
Actually there are more powerful sultan after murad. Also the Ottoman empire will go even bigger. And women's rule will end after turhan sultan. Turhan sultane realized woman was the reason for Prince dead and so much trouble, that is why she banned women to be powerful.
I place the blame for Kasim's death on his mothers shoulders. Kosem should have waited until Murad actually died. How messed up and again shes to blame for her son killing the other son big time
Ibrahim was so fragile...he never would have made a good sultan...much less lead in battle, or command troops etc. The look on Murad's face when he heard everything...and walked out and addressed the troops was priceless. The snowfall scene at the end of this was most impressive.

How can a padishah win the world with these kind of struggles. His own family doesn’t support him. This must be the reason why former rulers justified the “fratricide”. I feel so bad for characters like Ibrahim and Mustafa in this show. Both were good-hearted and they loved their brother more than the throne. Somehow they got the throne but they werent mentally fit because of being locked in a room. These 2 characters deserved better.

Agreed. It is another blatant plot hole. When Sultan Ahmed banned Safiye Sultan from the palace, the guards literally barred the gates against her. But when Murad banishes Kosem she comes waltzing back in as soon as Murad leaves on campaign. Sigh. Murad should have given Farya command of the palace guard when he left that time. That could have been very interesting.

It's very loosely based on history. There was no Farya, no Atikye, and one of Kosem's sons isn't even in this. It's mostly fiction and drama.

By murdering Farya, Kosem doomed Murad’s sons to being kidnapped & murdered - since Farya wasn’t there to protect them. And just to make sure the hit was complete, Kosem murdered Silahatar as well.

We always as people have opinions about people working in power seeing our government or kings they both can sit in power but that doesn't mean all the decisions by them are right or liked by everyone.
A King should be respected but people feared Murad not respected him.
He had only one option for all the mistakes which was death. He never tried listening to his pashas and made decisions as he always wanted to rule alone. He doesn't only want to listen to his mother but his board of directors because he thinks of himself as superior.
A strong king doesn't only include him being a great warrior but also being empathic and understanding to his people.
He was a great warrior but not only that enough he never got screwed by his anger and fear and thought of being emphatic to people and not roaming around the state to see if people are following his rules or not rather would have seen how his people are suffering what they need, etc.

The Ottoman Empire was not exactly known for its kindness and mercy. They enslaved many Christians, mutilated their boys, and forced women into the harems. Their 'laws' did not permit them to do this to their own.
So sad! Just like Bayezid, Kasim was sacrificed because of his mother's greed and hunger for power. When Kosem was exiled, she should have stayed there. If she wasn't back without the permission of the Sultan, he wouldn't lock up his brothers either. I Hate Kosem Now. 😖
Agreed. It is another blatant plot hole. When Sultan Ahmed banned Safiye Sultan from the palace, the guards literally barred the gates against her. But when Murad banishes Kosem she comes waltzing back in as soon as Murad leaves on campaign. Sigh. Murad should have given Farya command of the palace guard when he left that time. That could have been very interesting.
